I made a bread today that I found on Linda's Website with almond flour and it turned out awesome. The closest to bread texture of all the recipes I have tried. I had to put it far away to keep from eating too much. I even put stuffing type of spices in part and I think it will make great stuffing for Turkeyday.

Here's a couple of pictures. The large one is from the regular recipe and the small round one is with the stuffing spices added (sage, parsley, garlic & onion powder, paprika). The recipe is called Artisan Mini-loaves, only I baked it in one 8x4 inch loaf pan instead.

I'm so excited about Thanksgiving this year!

    Sunny!
It looks delish!! What's the name of the bread?

First I had some of Sunny's pumpkin bars (one fell apart so I had to eat it)LOL! and they are wonderful. I can see how I could get carried away on both. There both in the freezer now! Very delicious indeed. Cat, you can use soy flour. When I use soy flour I like to use 1/2 soy flour and 1/2 flax meal. The flax makes it heartier, But if you don't want to use flax, the soy alone should be fine. I make my zuchinni bread with soy and flax. It's really good! Hope that helps hon.
Oh my gosh!! I can't wait. My mouth is watering at the thought. It's almost 11:00 here and I've still not eaten. Too nauseated and in too much pain. Later!!

Sunny, you're breads look so wonderful. Please let us know how the seasoned bread turns out for stuffing and how you prepare it. I think I'd rather prepare my almond flour from scratch. I'll be doing that next time. Thanks for the idea!

The recipe is called Artisan Mini-loaves, only I baked it in one 8x4 inch loaf pan instead. I had two grilled sandwiches for breakfast this morning. It had a real bread texture. One was sharp cheese, bacon and tomato and the other was ham and cheese. They were both delish! This bread would only do for a savory sandwich and probably not peanut butter and SF jam. By the way--have any of you tried SF Smucker's jams?? The strawberry is good, but the apricot is awesome. It's sweetened with Splenda. Here's a link to the recipe: I took some things from the Flat Bread recipe and some from the mini-loaves and then baked it in an 8x4 loaf pan.

I'll be using this stuff for bread crumbs in recipes for a binder.

            Sunny!

We love the S.F. Smuckers. Favorites here are strawberry, apricot,(my favorite), and orange marmelade. I enjoy using them in recipes too. Yum! I'll be baking some of that bread Sunny. Thanks!

Hey Sherri! Still not feeling well. I've managed to get down some turkey, cheese, and peanuts. May not be much but it's better than nothing.

Thanks Sunny, thanks for sharing! I can't eat the jam since it's fruit (yes it's horrific being allergic to fruit).

Kassoria & Marty, hope you're doing ok.

Hello Ladies... Doing pretty good tonight.. I stopped on the way home from work tonight and bought a couple pairs of jeans. One Jr. 11 and one 10 (just for the fun of it. Something to work toward.) Got home tried the 11 and they fit (except I need about another 5 inches of legs) but was excited to find that the 10's fit too. WOOO HOOOO!!!! I started this wearing a semi-tight 14. Do need to stop painting so much and start excersing my belly muscles though... I really needed this.

Glad to see everyone is ready for the holidays. I envy you guys that have been doing all this baking. I keep saying this Sunday I'm going to do this and each one comes and goes with other projects... This one doesn't look much better.

Time to go make myself eat. Come on Cat, we'll do it together. You know you got to eat... at least that is what they keep telling us.

Cat, do you have some fresh ginger to make some ginger tea? It will settle your stomach, really! Try it, You'll like it! Hello Kassoria, where you at? Hope everyone has a great evening. Sunny, I know it's late at your neck of the woods. Sweet dreams Hon. Hey Kass, do you use resistance bands for exercise? How about the rest of you? I'm going to buy some. I've heard nothing but positive things about them and I want to add them to my daily exercises. Cat, This would be a great exercise for you too. It will strengthen your back and everything else as far as that goes. I'm excited about trying them. Today on my menu it was a bacon and cheddar, 3 egg omelet with herb tea. Lunch- o. Dinner- chicken wings, steamed fresh brocolli, green salad w/ cucumber, and olives w/ ranch. I drank 100 oz water today. No dessert tonite. I'm saving myself for Thanksgiving. Sierra just tried the pumkin pound cake and really liked it. Good night ladies and I'll yak at ya tomorrow.

Okay... found out tonight that our Turkey Day plans went astray... My kitchen looks like a tornado (not far fetched where I live) has gone through it. Sooooooo all you dear ladies... when is dinner... would like to make a reservation for 4. I think we are going to go out for dinner as the kitchen will not be finished and put back together in time to cook. Oh well... look at all the stuff I don't have to worry about eating.

                      Catch everyone tomorrow... nighty night

                        Hey Ladies,

I've been busy with school. Today was my last night of this assessment class. It was so much work. I am glad its over. I had a presentation tonight and it went very well.

Sherri, I haven't used the bands. At Curves we use the actual machines and the books offers ways to get the same benefits of the machines through use of the bands. I have thought about trying them. Let me know how they work.

Marty...girl glad you're back. Welcome home.
Hey sunny, that bread looks so good...I am drooling.

Cat..how's your thanksgiving preparedness coming along. I am going to start cooking tomorrow night. I am off until Monday....WHOOO HOO!!!.
This is our first holiday together...LOL

                            Hey...Ladies,

I made four cakes so far and didn't lick any batter or frosting. I am so proud of myself. They came out really well. I love baking and am learning to write on cakes and how to create simple decorations.

I am a little bored. I have been so busy with my class...now I have nothing to do tonight. Think I'll start the turkey.

So far I have made my mini cheesecakes and jello mold. For the cheesecakes I added a little sour cream and it made them very moist and they deflated less.

This is odd I stopped getting notices that there were new posts to this thread! I've checked several times today, and just thought everyone was busy with Thanksgiving. A notice popped up a little bit ago when Kass made her new posts.

I'm really tired, so I will answer what I remember reading.

Yes, I own bands--for at least 20 years. Have I used them??? Maybe 5 times. It was a long time ago. I never liked them at all. I have a really fancy, expensive set, but I still don't use them. I watch the video that came with them ever so often, but they are still gathering dust.

I did start my exercise program back up this week, a week earlier than my surgeon said I could. I exercised for 65 minutes today. I did floor exercises and stretched first thing this morning, then I did 10 minutes on my recumbent stepper right before lunch, then I took a walk outside for 15 minutes in the late afternoon and just a little bit ago, I did 30 minutes of weight lifting with 2-pound weights. My mood has improved and I have so much more energy already!

I made another loaf of the bread tonight. I'm not going to have any of this loaf. I have already ate most of the other one, and while it has almost no carbs, it has a lot of calories, fat and cheese. Dairy makes my tummy bloat. I am losing so slow that I need to watch calories for now.

Marty--many moons ago, I had a huge kitchen, which needed new flooring. I always made a huge Thanksgiving dinner with the works. Turkey with everything that goes with it and a big ham and everything that goes with ham. I made from-scratch yeast rolls and many desserts. I always got out the good china and silver and tablecloth and linen napkins. I had a friend that was going to put down the flooring , but the only day he could do it was Thanksgiving day. I was going to postpone the whole thing, but the kids were so disappointed, I decided to go ahead, but cut the menu down. Until the sad looks and moaning got to me, so I fixed it all. I was going to stand firm on no china, silver or cloth anything, until my teenaged son said he would set the table and wash all the dishes and put them away, if we didn't use paper plates. He said it wouldn't be Thanksgiving with paper plates and plastic cups! Somehow it all got done. It was tricky doing the cooking while my friend was cutting and gluing down vinyl flooring, especially around the curved fireplace raised hearth that was right in front of the doorway to the dining room. He was in the middle of that right when stuff started coming off the stove and needed to go to the table. It somehow turned out well, and my son was as good as his word and washed and put away everything.

I sure hope Cat isn't too sick. No fun with the holiday and her mom to look after.

Marty--that's awesome that you can get into 10's. WooHoo!!

Kass--how old is your little boy??? I am so out of the loop with kids toys. My Sunday School class is 'adopting' two needy families for Christmas. We had slips with a family member's name, age, gender, sizes, etc., and what they wanted or needed. Each slip had an item or two and we could choose which item(s) we wanted to buy. I picked a little boy, age 4, named Damian (I liked his name). This slip was for DVDs Shrek III - Sponge Bob. I don't even have a DVD player I have seen the Shrek III DVD advertised, and I know WHO Sponge Bob is, but don't know anything about the DVDs. Also, I'd like to get him something else--something he didn't ask for. What would a 4-year-old want??? Another slip said Spiderman PJs, so he must like Spiderman.

I need to go to bed now! Nite nite!

                                Sunny!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
