Sunny suggested (and I was thinking - Sunny knows my thoughts ) that we should propose an exercise challenge for us. What do you guys think? Maybe post some before pics with measurements. Pledge to do so much exercise per week and post daily. At the end of the challenge we could post our pics to see our progress. We can also post our progress pics anytime in between. We could do a 1, 2, or 3 month challenge. Anyone game? I'm starting my exercise plan on the first. I'm starting slow and working my way up. I'm shooting for 15 minutes three times per week on week one.

You guys are a pure treasure - when one is down, the rest pick her up or send out someone to look for her.

I'm game for an exercise challenge but I am camera phobic - can I join in without the pix? I'd love to hear what's working exercise-wise for everyone. Me, I'm using the KISS method so far...1 mile on the treadmill every day until January 10...then we go to 2 miles....and if I can ever get this exercise ball blown up I'll use it too. My batwings have batwings, lol.

To make it worth coming back, we sometimes send a posse of 12 Chippendale dancers!

You couldn't be more camera phobic than I am, but I have put up my pictures at near 300 pounds! I became a photographer mostly so I would be on the wrong side of the camera! When I was the one taking pictures, no one ever thought to take my picture! True story! This was when I was skinny, too. When I was a fashion photographer, the boss threatened to fire me if I didn't sit for a display picture. I said, "Go ahead and fire me!" I didn't sit and he didn't fire me! I am okay with it here, because everyone is in the same boat. We never look as bad as we think we do. You will be glad that you have the 'awful' pictures to look back on when you are slim and fit.

And, I really do know a Chippendale dancer! I took his portfolio pictures when I was 42 and he tried to date me for the longest time. He was younger than my son and I was older than his mother! Boy, was that hard to turn down! NOT!

        Sunny!

I learned that little trick from my preacher! I sometimes think he has a Nanny Cam in my house! Whatever I am struggling with, that is exactly what his sermon is about! Spooky!

I am used to pledging a minimum of 150 minutes a week, because that's what we had to do for the challenges on eDiets. We could count anything, even stretching as exercise. There is lots of stuff you /we can do at our desk or in a chair watching TV. But, since some of us are decrepit and so out of shape, I think we can pledge a small amount as long as we keep increasing as we get stronger. I propose a three-month challenge, one month at a time. It takes a while to start toning up, so we need plenty of time to see a difference. January 1 and April 1 are both on a Tuesday. It's 91 days from January 1 to April 1.

I think we should also pledge to drink the proper amount of water, as well. What do you gals think??? Are we going to conduct the challenge within this thread or start it on the exercise challenge forum???

I have one more nerve block on January 11th and as long as they don't do me in again, I should only be down for a few days. I may have to have surgery again, but I am hoping not. That really put a crimp in my plans.

I'm planning to take a January 1 picture anyway. I always do. I will also be starting my exercise plan on Monday, Dec. 31. I like to do Monday-Wednesday-Friday for lifting weights.

          Sunny!

Count me in on the exercise challenge. Can we just conduct it here? I'd feel more comfortable with our Derby Girls. I too, will be starting TOMORROW. It will be three times a week on my gazelle. 5 minutes the first week then work my way up 5 minutes each week untill I'm at it for 30 minutes each time. Also I want to pledge floor exercises and stretching. I'm all for the water pledges. I will be having my DH take a picture of me tomorrow. I can get copies for each of you to send to if you wish. I can send one to you Cat since I have your address already.I won't be able to post them. Then in 30 days I'll take pictures again. I'm ready for this!

Are you going to send pictures by snail mail??? Do you have a digital camera??? If not, I have a scanner and can post them for you. If you do have access to a digital camera, you can send them by e-mail to one of us and we can post them for you. We can figure something out. We are sooo going to make goal this year! All of us!

It's been a while since I had film developed, but Wal-Mart used to put your pictures on a disk (CD) for 99 cent extra. Then you can pop those babies right onto your computer. I want to see a picture of your daughter. I hope you have pictures stashed of when you were at your high weight! We're gonna need them when we are on Oprah's show! The Derby Girls are gonna rock that show! Everybody needs before pictures! Get-r-done, ladies! One of these days we are all gonna have our picture taken together!

That would be a dream come true for me to be on the Oprah show. I've idolized her for twenty years. For all us to meet there, at her show, would be so awesome.

I'm going to call Walmart. If they do, I'll take some pictures down there to put on a disk. Then you can tell me what I need to do next. I do have pictures of when I was at my heaviest (374) And at my thinnest (219) They're on my fridge for me to look at every time I go open the door to it.

Ok, I'm game. I'm going to start on Tuesday (1st). I like the idea of minutes too since it's hard for me to exercise as well. I am going to do 5 minutes on my bike (every other day) and at least 5-10 minutes of Pilates or toning. My first week I pledge to do 45 minutes of exercise. I've got to start slow. I'll take my picture (hopefully I can remember) on the 1st. I'll post my water intake and exercise amount (on the days I exercise) and have a tally of minutes on each Sunday to see if I met goal. So, are we doing from Jan 1 to April 1? Just let me know. I'm so excited.

I can't wait to get our makeover on Oprah!
