    hi Lyndyn -- the radishes are plain red radishes from the product dept at the store -- you cut them in slices and fry them in oil with onion ....they take about the same amount of time as potatoes to fry and they taste like fried potatoes! If you don't care for the taste yet wait awhile -- your tastebuds will change and things will taste completely different.

    Here's what they looked like tonight....I made corned beef hash, only instead of potatoes mine was made with radishes!

        You can also use radishes in a 'potato salad' type dish - just boil them and the red colour almost disappears to assist in the illusion.

          I'm a March 16th'er myself. So after 5 full days and a good start on the 6th, I'm well on my way. This morning I'm down 6 pounds. I am honestly shocked at the weight loss. I've never had a problem with willpower, but diets have never worked for me. I just got off a 4 month stint of low-fat, no red meat, less than 2000 cals a day diet and showed no progress even with excercise thrown in. Everybody has always told me that just eating right and excercising would make the weight come off. Well it didn't for me so I just stopped caring. I'd held off on Atkins for a long time because it simply sounded too good to be true, and I'd heard a lot of false rumors about it.
          Here I am 6 days in and I feel great, am not hungry and have posted some actual weight loss after years of maintain or gain.

          Stick with it people, I'm a believer now.

            I am starting tommorow , Iv done atkins before and made great progress lastyear but stopped ( YIKES ) So I now need to loose 40lbs , the part that gets me down is the headaches but Iv got to keep going this time and the fact that only drinking water I need something else but I guess thats the best for you ( Good Luck to All Of Us )

              I had a really crummy day yesterday and thought for sure I was going to end up cheating, and I sort of did, I ate some cream cheese, more than what's allowed, but my craving for sweet went away after that, whew! I was even baking yesterday and didn't lick the bowl of the cake batter or the icing! GO ME!

              So far I am down 3.2 pounds.

                Yipeeeee,

                I've got the atkins flue reall bad. I just thought i'd check in and let you know that I am still doing great, apart from my body making the switch...even though i feel like c*** I am sooooo excited, all i have to do now is wait for the weight to start melting. Don't know if anyone experiences this, once you go into keto does water taste sweet to you? That is how I can tell and of course the dog breath and dry mouth.....lol

                I did my grocery shopping for next week (changed my menues). I hope I feel better before monday, can't afford to feel like this on a working day.

                Will check in again later, i think i need a nap...by the way i've finally got the courage to put a pic of myself up...will check in with you all later.

                    I am sooooo hungry. I feel famished! What's going on! This is day 6, and for a while I wasn't hungry at all. Now I'm growling.
                    I think I ate too much cheese for days in induction, I need to slow that down.

                    I'm curious what everyone else's exercise schedules are. Everyday? A few times a week? Not at all? I love the gym, and find myself doing cardio almost everyday. Running is my new fav. This week I was super tired and didn't go as often. I hope that this next week I go more often. I'm sure it will help.

                      Hey everyone.... i know im late on this post.. but i started march 20th and boy I feel incrdible.... No hunger No cravings... just feeling great!!! Im lookig for a support buddy or support buddies on here... Ill accept anyones application : )

                      Im the heaviest i have been in my whole life.. im only 24 well next week i will be and I want to live me lifehappy not depressed and fat.... atkins will change that for me guranteed!!!

                      I absolutely love this site... so many inspirational stories..

                      anyone that would like to have a support buddy or want to be one... shoot me a private message or reply to this..

                        Day 5 for me!!

                        Day 4 I had to leave the house without breakfast and ended up drinking a diet coke at a meeting and eating hot wings from KFC that probably had sugar and carbs in the batter. But Day 5 is going strong went to the grocery store last night and got some Jimmy Dean fully cooked bacon, Tennese Pride fully ooked turkey sauage patties, and pepperoni all with no carbs or suger. I have been getting Ozarka water bottles it helps me drink more water.
                        I thought I would be getting emails when people posted on here, so I would of been back sooner, I was feeling alone but wasnt after all, since yall were posting.
                        I'm liking the support and are here for everyone.

                        When is sugar allowed back??

                        And I slept like 12 hours last night and 10 hours the night before. Is that normal??

                        I got to weigh at the doctors on day 2 but dont have my own scale yet, I think I look thinner though and look forward to weighing!!

                        Keep up the work everyone...it will be worth it.

                        I am interested in learning about the food changes after induction.
                        and the sugar...

                          OH no!!
                          I just read on another page, to avoid eating too much sausage, pepperoni and bacon! That is just what I stocked up on and thought I finally had some snacks.
                          But because of the perservatives it is supposed to slow weight loss.
                          I'm so bummed.
                          Don't know what to do now.
                          Also, should I try cream cheese? I have such a sweet tooth and I have been eating lots of Jello getting most of my carbs from cool whip.
                          SO sad right now!!
                          Now what do I eat...

                            Good to see another young guy on here (no offense to the ladies.) Wish I'd been smart enough to start this when I was 23. Stick with it, I'm pretty much 6 days through induction and now lost 7 pounds (lost one somewhere today... now where could it have got to.) It really can be as crazy as losing 1-2 pounds while you sleep. One piece of advice, keep up with the water drinking. The one day I went light on water I felt like crap. I try to get about a gallon in a day.

                                sugar is never allowed on Atkins -- you have have up to 3 splenda packets a day but no sugar.

                                as far as cream cheese -- yes get cream cheese -- you have put it on celery for a quick snack and there are so many recipes that use it. Just count it as part of your cheese allowance for the day.

                                Within reason you can have the bacon, sausage and pepperoni....I make pepperoni & cheese chips a couple times a week...you take deluxe deli cheese slices and cut them into 4 pieces (per slice) or smaller if you want...then put them on parchment paper in the microwave and nuke them 60 - 90 seconds -- the more brown they turn the crunchier they are...same with the pepperoni, just put it on parchment paper in the microwave for 60 - 90 seconds....tastes wonderful - I had them last night watching the basketball games on TV.
