Re: What's for Induction Dinner Tonight????

We had take-away tonight from the fish & chip shop.

I had a chicken breast quarter with a great crispy skin (in UK breading is not traditional so it was just plain chicken with no coating deepfried) and a couple of pickled gherkins (cucumber dill pickles).

I don't like paying the price for them at the chippy (65 pence/1 US dollar per gherkin) so I buy a large jar of them at the supermarket for the price of 2 gherkins at the chippy. The extra advantage is that I know the nutrition info from the label and don't have to guess!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I ate at the canteen tonight and we had chicken breast rolls, wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cream cheese and asparagus. Yum!

For veggies, I had steamed broccoflower with some flavored butter (lemon-pepper) on it.

I'm having baked chicken legs----I just finished salting and peppering them. I picked an armload of herbs from my garden yesterday. So I packed the herbs around legs. They'll sit in the frig until this afternoon when I bake them.

For veggies....it's roasted cauliflower with roasted onion and garlic.

Wow I cannot wait for the book to come. I am new here and I am NOT eating like you guys, I gotta eat veggies more, I knew veggies were allowed but not like that.
I was cutting off a small handful of lettuce and putting some oil a vinegar on it.
You guys are eating like kings. I am dropping the pounds but I could use a better menu.
I was just going to pop some beef and onions in the pressure cooker and make a kind of beef stew, yeah rite. I need to look at what you are having.
                        Bon appetit!

Three cups per day, maximum one of which can come from the "Other Vegetables" list. The lists are here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

You should also get over half of your net carbs from vegetables, so you're punishing yourself by eating only lettuce.

The Induction-friendly part of my dinner was a salad with spinach, chicken, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and olives.

The non-Induction part... I had some almond thins with my tea and then dessert was strawberries with whipped cream.
