Re: What's for Induction Dinner Tonight????

I had another bun-less cheeseburger that I made myself along with sliced cucumbers.
I went ahead and pan cooked some chicken breast that I marinaded in Cajun seasoning and garlic powder...this will be to take to work on Wednesday. ---get prepared....along with having something different for my niece to eat tomorrow while I am gone to work.

            Hi Mzdizzy,
Here's a great Sticky from the 14 Day Induction Thread BEFORE you begin the Atkins Nutritional Approach.... It will give you important information to help guide you. Here's what you are allowed as far as beverages are concerned during Induction- I highlighted the soda with a *, so you could see it's acceptable, also, make sure you count it as one of your 3 allowed sweetners.
            Acceptable Beverages
Be sure to drink a minimum of eight eight-ounce glasses of water each day, including:

            Filtered water
            Mineral water
            Spring water
            Tap water
Additionally, you can have the following:

Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
            Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content)
            Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
*Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three tablespoons
*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine. Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases.

Tonight I had chicken thighs w/ skin fried in olive oil, steamed green beans with butter, and a salad comprised of baby greens, tomatoe, cucumber, onion, olives, cheese, and redwine vinegar and olive oil dressing. It was delish!

Crock Pot Super Garlic Chicken Legs Recipe #179050
6 chicken legs (more or less as needed)
20 garlic cloves (skins left on)
                              1 teaspoon dried rosemary
                              1/2 teaspoon salt
                              1/2 teaspoon pepper
                              1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
                              1/3 cup chicken broth
                              3 tablespoons oil

Place garlic cloves in crock pot.
Mix spices together in med bowl.
Pour oil into separate med bowl.
Dip chicken legs in oil, then roll around in spice bowl, until chicken is nicely coated in spices.
Place chicken legs in crock pot with garlic cloves surrounding it.
Pour chicken broth over all ingredients.
Cook on Low for 8 hours.
