Hi jo, eleonore and Artangel - you are not being ignored here but we (mods and admin) are working on a solution for you all - please be patient for a day or so and watch the board for a new topic about mentoring.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

                • Re: Newbies and Mentors Meet Here

Last year thanks to the hard work of Chynna and a band of experienced Atkineers a Mentor ‘programme’ was set up, where individuals who were new to Atkins or were having difficulties getting the hang of our WOE (way of eating) were put in touch with a member who was willing to respond personally to their questions and problems by private message or in a special Mentor thread set up in the ‘Penpals, Buddies and Mentors’ forum.

I have started a thread calling for volunteer members and (if I can find enough willing experienced people to make this possible) I will be calling in a few days for names of those who would like to be put in touch with a mentor for more individual help than is offered daily here on the forums.

In the meantime here is an explanation of how I envisage the ‘system’ will work, using the information used in Chynna’s original thread
Mentors are here to provide support and to help point you in the right direction. It is not expected of us to teach you everything you need to know about the Atkins WOL. It is our duty to encourage and support you throughout your weight-loss journey. It is your duty to make sure you've done your homework, research and planning. Our duty, as a whole, is to create a powerful support group and to learn from one another.

It is important that you take a few things into consideration before PMing your Mentor with any questions. Try using one of many resources posted as Sticky's and Announcements on this board that will help answer many of your questions. If you have other questions pertaining to your new WOL, use the "Search" button at the top of the page to help you. You should also post your questions on the Main Atkins forum and Induction forum, as well as the Review My Menu forum.

Make sure to PM your Mentor with progress reports from time to time. Include everything from weight lost to cheats. It's important for you to be honest to yourself, as well as to your Mentor. We can only help when we know the facts.

It will also be helpful to you to stay in touch with your group members. Communication between a group as a whole will help to create a stronger, closer support group and will be useful in helping to encourage one another. If you notice that one of the members hasn't posted in a few days, PM them. Let them know that they are missed and continue showing your support in the best way you can.

If you feel you need this extra support to get started or to help you to continue your Atkins journey within these guidelines look out for my ‘enrolment’ thread which I will post when I have a ‘pool’ of mentors ready to help you.

                    Hi Tracy,
Count me in as a support buddy...that's exactly what I'm looking for too! I just re-started for the second time and KNOW I'll do much better if there's a group (or someone) I'm accountable to. I've read these boards a lot and it seems that when a group of people join at the same time, they tend to support and stay in touch, as do the incredible moderators.

You've been on for 2 weeks, what's the biggest concern you have right now? I'm on my second day...my biggest concern is making through to tomorrow on track...

I started atkins in Aug of 2003. I didn't go off til the 2nd half of last year. I'm back with a great start-having lost 16 pounds since the first of the year. I have a ways to go so could give and get support. My best experience is with recipe experimentation.

                            Hi, everyone.

I introduced myself on the newbie board, but I'll do it here as well. I'm Jennifer, 32, divorced from Arkansas. Right now, I'm planning on doing Atkins Induction along with working out in order to lose in excess of 100 lbs.

I look forward to meeting all of you, and any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am pretty new to this and I would love to have a mentor help me out. I have been in the indtroduction phase for two months and I have only lost during the first two weeks. I feel like I'm at a stand still. I use the lyposis sticks daily and I am always in ketosis. I use short cuts, could this be the problem? I use the atkins bars almost daily because of my schedule. I also use one carb ketchup and sugar free ranch with 0 carbs. Please help me before I lose all of my will power. Thanks!
Wishing everyone confidence and will power,
