Hey Elsy, have you checked the carb count on the macdonalds salads? even without the dressings they add stuffs to the lettuce to keep it fresh, at least they do here anyway, could be different there!

Breakfast - Atkins Chocolate Royale Shake; 1 medium, satsuma mandarin (my neighbor grows these, and I can eat them right from the tree. It is like a tangerine)

      Lunch - MUP with almonds

Snack - way too many pecans I made 4 pecan pies today, and I ate about 3 ounces of pecans while I was baking. Guess I wasn't sick of them, after all. I could barf at the thought of them now, though.

Dinner - hamburger patty topped with swiss cheese/mushrooms; 1 cup cauliflower; 1 cup broccoli

Evening - Fage Total Greek Yogurt with few drops of Splenda and 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa. I really had no business eating this tonight, since my veggies were lower than I usually eat, and I had a fruit this morning. And, it looks like those satsumas are pretty high in carbs. I won't be making a habit of eating those, even though they are so very good.

I'm not doing Fitday today... I know my numbers suck. I don't need to stress myself out with the gory details.

Bacon is officially gone from my menu, except for in emergencies, scales are up one pound today, still my low so i'm okay with it,

though, i had pork rinds last night instead of chicken wings, it could just be that i guess...

Yesterday was a baaaaadddd day for me. I still stayed under on my carbs, but that low carb pumkin pie that I made WASN'T low calorie!!! I ended up the day at over 3100 calories! The problem was I didn't even feel overly stuffed!

              Breakfast
3 egg omelet with onions and peppers and 1 oz of canadian bacon
              1/2 cup cottage cheese
              1/2 cup blackberries
              2 shredded wheat biscuts
              1/2 cup of soy milk

              Lunch
Hamburger with 7 oz 80/20 ground beef, 1 whole wheat hamburger bun, 2 slices of grilled onion, 2 slices of tomato, 1 1/2 tbsp mayo and low carb ketchup

              Dinner
Duck a'la orange with cream sauce
Mock potatoes made with 3 cups of cauliflower, 1 tbsp cream, 1 tbsp butter, and three stalks of green onion blended in the food processor
1 cup of asparagus with grated parmesan
              10 oz of red wine
1 slice of George Stella's Low Carb Praline Pumpkin Pie (1/8th of a pie)*

              Snack
              1 oz of pecans
another slice of low carb pumkin pie

*crust is made with chopped pecans, butter, cinnamon, and Splenda
filling is canned pumpkin, eggs, cream, pumkin pie spice, and Splenda
carbs were only about 7 per slice but a whopping 331 calories!!!

Anyway, hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving
              Don

Don, don't fret. You fared much better than I did! I'm not even bothering with fitday. All my foods were legal, but I didn't eat enough veggies, I'm probably a little bit over my carbs, and I *know* I overdid it on calories. I grazed all day long, and with the exception of dinner, didn't have any "real" meals.

                I ate:
                Grazing--
                2 soy flour brownies
thin slices (baguette size) homemade whole wheat/flax/bran bread with butter or spinach dip
                green olives
                shrimp cocktail
                pepper jack cheese
                homemade salami
Dinner--cauliflower foob, turkey, homemade cranberry relish
Dessert--Stella NY chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sauce

                I drank:
                3 light beers
                2 Guinnesses
                4 small glasses of wine

Nutrition-wise, not my shining moment, but with the exception of the light beers, I had guessed I would be eating those foods.

It actually feels GOOD to be eating my "normal" foods today. Dare I say I missed my 87,392 cups of veggies?

OK, the day after was a little better, but still high on calories. The holidays can be really dangerous. Not only did I overdo the calories, but I wrenched my knee yesterday putting up the decorations. It was a rough workout this morning. I had to stick to the bike and did upper body workout in order to keep the pressure off of it. It seemed to help, though it is really stiff.

Anyway, here are my Friday totals.

                  Breakfast
                  1/2 cup Greek Gods yogurt
                  1/2 cup of three berries
                  2 eggs
                  1/2 cup of oatmeal

                  Lunch
4 oz mahi mahi topped with 2 oz of shrimp and 1/4 cup of hollandaise sauce
2 oz of crab in a cream and cheese mixture
2 cups of green beans and onions

                  Dinner
8 oz rib eye steak choice
                  1 cup white asparagus
                  2 broccoli spears
                  1 1/2 tbsp bernaise sauce
7 oz glass of red wine

                  Snacks
1 Leksands crispbread with 1/2 oz of maytag bleu cheese
1 slice of low carb praline pumpkin pie

Total calories 2409, 143 grams of fat 53%, 154 grams of protein 26%, and 77 net carbs 21%.

Hey Emma. No I didn't check for carb counts. I assumed it was o.k. Is it? Oh, oh. OH well, what's done is done. I'll have to do a little research for next time.

O.k. well Thanksgiving for me was bad too. I ate tons and tons of calories. Didn't count them but I know it was 3 times as many as I normally eat.

                    Breakfast was
2 eggs with tomatoe and onions
                    1/2 c. of cottage cheese

                    Lunch was
                    A whole turkey legg
A huge side of imitation potatoes (cauliflower something)
                    1 tbsp cranberry suace
a big slice of NY Ricotta cheese cake
                    a latte

                    Later in the day
a slice of LC pumpkin pie
another slice of cheesecake (what was I thinking????)

Then on Friday I had more eggs for breakfast, turkey for lunch with cauliflower, salad, and another slice of cheescake with a lg latte. Less calories on Friday but still I'm sure many.

Today Saturday I had bacon and eggs for Breakfast
Groundbeef with tomatoes, onions, sourcream and spices for lunch
and a slice of LC pumpkin pie for dessert

I don't think I have room for dinner.

                    • Re: OWLERS "Stepping Back" thread

OK - time to come clean - time to re-commit! I just posted this in my Journal Stats, and wanted to post it here, to be accountable. Here goes...

                      --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today was weigh day, and it was horrible. I knew that I have been feeling bloated, and have been having an orgy with pecans all week, and my pants were feeling tighter... but I was not expecting to see 130 pounds! That is a 5 pound increase from last Sunday's weigh in. I have been pouting all day, but I think that it has sunk in long enough for me to deal with now.

I think that this gain is really screwing with me, because it is literally the first time that I have had a gain since my re-start in late February. I had a few weeks where I didn't lose anything, but I was fortunate to have never gained. So, it was quite a blow.

I really hope that part of it has to do with TOM having not made a visit since September 29th. I used to be very regular... like clockwork. But for the last couple of years, it is not uncommon for me to skip a month and it come on the next one, which would make me due for one now. I have been bloated, bitchy, and hungry... if I don't start soon, I may go up in flames.

I have not done Fitday or posted in the Stepping Out thread in a few days now. I tried to post last night, but I lost it, so just blew it off. I have been very inconsistent with exercise. I used to be so commited... now, I skip days all of the time. THIS HAS GOT TO CHANGE! I have been a good one for talking the talk... it's time to walk the walk.

I'm not going to bother with menus or totals tonight, but I am re-commiting to posting them here, and in the Stepping Out thread, daily, starting tomorrow. I guess it's time to go face the music in that thread...

Oh, by the way. I have been wanting to post a schedule of my weigh-ins since my restart, so this is a good time to do that:

                      2/25/07 - 187 pounds

Mitzi, hang in there! The goalies have always said that maintaining is 10x more difficult than losing, and from what I've seen in various posts from members here, I believe it!

You are by no means a slouch, or lazy, or sloppy. You will be diligent, you will sharpen your focus, and you'll knock those 5 pounds right off. You had a lot of "new" foods this week, combined with a holiday, combined with a few days off from exercise. Aren't you relieved to have had this happen now before you would have gotten comfortable? I'm sure that TOM has a lot to do with it, so don't stress too much. Tomorrow, it's back to the grindstone. Maybe stay away from the dairy for a week or so, and then eat it occasionally or in smaller amounts?

                        You can do it!

Dont stress it Mitzi, my bets are its a lot to do with TOM, i gain around 5 pounds as each one is due in, i see from your past weighins you've never really had a gain week, but if you're missing a TOM, it could be that...

Hey, we all survived the first big 2007 holiday, right? And we all made it back here, maybe a little worse for wear, but what's a week? This is a way of life. There are plenty more TOM's, Thanksgivings and bottles of wine to get through and we will. We are here for each other, and after a bad week, we get right back into it. We read, we post, we exercise, we watch what we eat, and that's why we will succeed.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone (she says climbing out of the totally non-legal 4 day cheat-fest that she had been wallowing in ).
