    I didn't eat enough today...
MUP for breakfast, plus 1/2 oz cheese
1 hb egg and a stalk of celery for lunch
dinner will be salmon and veggies (broccoli and cabbage)... with butter.
I bought cute clothes today at the thrift shop! like new... 6 tops and a pair of jeans for $38.00 (also a book for 1.50 so technically clothes were 36.50) so fun!

And since my CCLL (still unknown!) is pretty high (I would assume), I need to get the most bang for my buck. So for me, it's better to eat "other" veggies to fill up my carb quotas...otherwise I'd be eating 20 cups of "salad" veggies a day.
Well, technically, it would still only be 2 cups of salad veggies that would be required if you kept the Induction menu and just added from the other rungs... Rung 1 lets you pick all of your additional veggies from the Other list if you want to. I would guess that the requirement to keep at least 2 cups of your total veggies as salad veggies would be a way to ensure that some of the lowest glycemic veggies are part of your diet everyday.

Here is a copy of a passage from a sticky in this forum that gave me the idea that it might be better to keep 2 of the cups as salad veggies:

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for OWL, all you have to remember is that your Induction menu is your basic daily menu. To that you will add 5 net carbs of the Carb Ladder Foods. I've used this analogy in other threads....

When you get dressed for a night out, what do you do? You pick a dress, right? Then what do you do? You look through your drawers, jewelry box, and closet to accessorize that dress, right? So you might put on a pair of dangly earrings, you might put on some strappy sandals, you might tie a scarf around your waist, you might wear your hair up, you might wear a darker shade of lipstick, right?

That's what you're doing during OWL, too. Your basic dress is the Induction menu. Those earrings are the 5 net carbs of Rung 1 foods. Those sandals---5 net carbs of Rung 2 foods. The scarf? 5 net carbs of Rung 3 foods. The hair do? 5 net carbs of Rung 4 foods. The lipstick? 5 net carbs Rung Rung 5 food.

          --------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, so my analytical mind looks at this and interprets it to mean that keeping my induction menu includes keeping 2 cups of salad veggies in my menu. Now, I have heard it said a million times that no one ever got fat from eating veggies... but let me play devil's advocate here... is it possible that eating only veggies from the Other list could push someone with a low CCLL out of ketosis and cause a stall?

I hope that I'm not driving y'all nuts with this... I just thrive on details... to a fault, sometime. I am like a dog with a bone... I can't leave it alone when it's interesting to me.

Yay, Liz, on the new clothes.

Jen, EAT! I eat late, too, sometimes. You don't have to eat a lot.

Now for my menu today - I am way lower in carbs than I want to be. I had a sudden change of plans for dinner and it kind of threw me off. On the occasional day that I eat salad for dinner, I try to make up the nutrition and fiber that is kinda pitiful in lettuce, earlier in the day. I didn't get to do that today.

          Brunch - MUP with almonds

Snack - Sugar Snap peas, a whole green bell pepper, and 1 ounce of cheddar cheese

Dinner - Chicken Shwarma Salad (This is a greek salad with roasted chicken and feta cheese that I get from a local greek restaurant)

Fitday Totals: (This is a "guestimate" as I don't have the exact nutrition facts for the greek salad... just plugged into Fitday what I think is in the salad.)

A slight adjustment to todays totals. No cream for the pork tenderloin and there was only 6 oz. portions. So we did walnut and parmesan encrusted tenderloin fried in butter. Because of the additional fat, I skipped the cream cheese on the Wasa.

            Here are the revised totals.

Man, Don, you do eat good!

I was never a cook pre-Atkins, so it has been a major adjustment for me to go to eating fresh, unprocessed food... everything needs to be prepared! LOL... I've risen to the occasion as best I can. Working so far...

Wow! Mitzi! You're amazing with all this analytical stuff... I never thought about all that... but I agree... never go to a party without your dress wearing only accessories... the host would love it but it would really tick off the hostess! lol!
Seriously! I don't think I've been eating enough regularly from the salad part of this diet! and I probably really need to... well, I need to eat more veggies all around! This exersize we're going through is so good for reminding us of the basics... like this.
Another thing Mitzi, you hardly eat anything... I'd be starving by dinner... (like I was tonight) well, everyone has their own way... maybe I eat too much on a regular basis... but don't you need more protein earlier in the day? I feel like that's what gives me energy... Just asking... since we're being all analytical and all...
That was a really good post btw.
Thanks... re. clothes... totally 'stoked'! Have them beside me right now... and showed my ds, an dh... they were both impressed and we all know how hard it is to impress a 17 yr old boy. lol. especially re. women's clothes! but even he thought it was amazing the stuff I got at the price! I don't 'love' thrift shops... but they are definately worth it! Can't beat the price with a stick... just gotta get there early. and shower after! lol.

Went to my daughters this afternoon and had a cup of coffee and it wasn't even decaf. Had some sugar free english toffee syrup in it...Yum.

Dinner was a couple of cherry tomatoes, taco meat with 1 tbsp of sour cream, 1 oz of shredded cheese and 1/2 of a roasted red pepper.

I have had about 96 oz of water today. Thats way over for me.

Thats it for today. I'm a bit hungry now again so I might have some celery or maybe another piece of cheddar cheese or something. If I do I'll report it!

Still losing inches though even though i was gaining, that was strange!
