    ROFLMAO!!! Heidi....my confession below

My hubby and I went out to a buffet at a nearby Casino Saturday night...well I thought I was doing good....For Dinner I had a nice rare slice of Prime Rib...some cole slaw, something green ..glazed carrotts(were yuck so only had a bite)...as I passed on the salad bar...bad bad..bad...Char --->>> straight for ----->>>> the desert bar..sampling the cheese cake, something with cramel and coconut...and strawberries and whip cream...shameful.
o.k. so they were all small little slicess..but the only inkling of a ..STOP WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING went right out the window as I put the delicious morsels..on my plate....
so as I prepared dinner tonight thinking of all that garbage I put inside me..I had to smile....
    I was very good tonight
    fresh garden green beans
Veggie stir fry in 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil
    with sliced up sausage..
    sure wasn't cheesecake!!!

Good Morning Everyone ......... confession time for me ....... I had a terrible day off plan yesterday ........ My mother's day was loverly but I ate off plan the entire day ......... it started with my children making me breakfast( something they do every year) I had forgotten to remind them I was eating differently and even though they know that they were not thinking when they followed tradition and brought mommy Breakfast in bed of french toast sausage strawberries and cream and real vermont maple syrup ........ so yes I looked into the smiling faces of my 4 children so pleased with themselves and Ate it all ......... I figured I could get my butt right back on track for lunch tilll my older girls showed up with lunch all planned ........ potato salad mac salad hamburgers on the grill and my oldest made me a cheese cake ( another tradtional favorite) and yes I looked at all they had done and Ate that too ......... now you would think this would be enough wouldn't you?????? Well Bob had built me a new patio and bought a canopy and table and chairs set and a fire pit so I could enjoy my back yard while the kids played ........ so we built a fire and sat around it with the kids last night and the next door neighbors saw us out and brought over the fixings for smores ......... so yep seeing that I had completely blown my day I ate those too ......... By the time I was done my day my stomach hurt, I had wocked heartburn and I was feeling sick ......... So I deserved the way I felt and now will suffer through several days of withdrawal and getting back on track ........... good thing the veggie challenge is underway and I can use that to sterr me right as well......... Oh lordy why oh why do I continue to do things like this to myself .......

    OK so rerererererererererestart today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I hope those of you whom the Holiday fit had a wonderful Mother's day yesterday!!!!!!

    morning yall!!

mitzi, yum!! i agree with liz, would be great to have a family full of men who cook. that is sooo far from what my traditional southern family grew up with...i don't think my dad knows how to boil water.

i had a great eating day yesterday, and worked out HARD. but not even a pound down today. but like we all say, it is not the scale but how you look, feel, and behave that counts. so check, check, check!~

I'll tell you one thing, reading your posts inspire me to get back on track! Yum! Reading your eating plan Sunny made me hungry! I can't wait to start eating like that again! It's gonna be GREAT!

Mitzi, it sure sounds like you have a fabulous family in spite of all the food issues. They sound like awesome men to cook like that for their families! That's awesome! I hope your one uncle turns his diet around though, it's so hard to see people we love suffer so much needlessly.

My mom brought me a sack full of avocados today!!! they're not ripe yet, but they will be before ya know it! (and I'll be ready!)

    Good Evening, All

Here's hoping that all of you had a wonderful day.

Sorry that I have been a little scarce with details for the past couple of days... and once again today, I have no details. Just too much going on. The upcoming week will be busy as well, but I WILL be recording details again starting tomorrow. It definitely helps keep me focused.

Glenda - I had a slip today, too... I went overboard with the damn nuts again. Sh*t happens... as long as we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and move forward, we should be fine.

Adena - I LOVE avocados! There are tons of them in the grocery stores around here right now. Walmart had them for only 68 cents a piece last week - cheap! I definitely took advantage of them.

PT, Betsy's mom was one smart lady! And Betsy's right... it will happen when you least expect it.

Sunny, I hope you get lots of good rest tonight.

Today my brother had a get-together for family at his house (meal at noon). *sigh* While I enjoy the time together that my family has for holidays/special occasions, I have to admit that it aggravates me that we always have Italian, Chinese, or some kind of rice/pasta main dish... more often than not, Italian. My mother's parents owned one of the best Italian restaurants in town for 52 years... All 3 of my mom's brothers are excellent cooks, as is my brother. I love the fact that most of the time, it's the men who cook the food for these occasions. What I don't like, is that they always pick stuff like lasagna, artichocke casserole, and bread to cook... Italians put breadcrumbs in everything. I guess I have no room to b*tch... that if I want to have something else, I should host a get-together myself. Alas, I am not a hostess or cook by a long shot... not my thing. Sometimes I bring my own food to these occasions, but on days like today (Mother's Day), I just don't feel like putting out the effort. What ever happened to good old grilling? Mmmm... steak, seafood, veggies on the grill My brother and uncles aren't big fans of grilling. They know that I follow Atkins, and they understand the plan, but that's not how they like to eat so they don't attempt to adapt anything to lowcarb. I feel sorry for them... my brother isn't overweight, but my uncles are terribly overweight. One of them had a quintaple bypass surgery last year, and was told to do Atkins type eating... he just can't do it. He's had to have another stint put in, since the bypass. He's only 10 years older than I am.

OK - I'm done pouting. Thanks for listening.

I have a long day in the boutique tomorrow, so I won't get home from work till about 6:00, then I'll have to deal with dinner. I hate being away from here for such a long stretch, but that's how Mondays are. I will be getting strict again, and recording details... keeps my @ss in line.

    Have an awesome week, everybody.

Today was so cold, rainy and dreary, I have been in bed with a good book since I got home from church. I was tired when I got home, so I just had a cold salad lunch, but I wanted some warm comfort food for dinner, so I had meat loaf, mock mashed taters (cauliflower) and green beans cooked country style with ham chunks and bacon grease (they were my home canned beans). All I needed was a batch of homemade buttermilk biscuits and some pan gravy!

    Happy Mother's Day all!

    Sunny!

Glenda, sorry to hear about the blip.... but sounds like you have a good plan to hop right back on track.

PT, Mr. Right is crazy to have not snatched you up yet. Sorry you didn't have fun last night. Sounds like today will be much better -- see, who needs guys?

I'm still on track. I overdid it on legal food yesterday -- including 2 WHOLE avocados. (Gosh they were good, though -- perfectly ripe.) Anyway, I was so hungry all day... so I'm at least glad I didn't default to eating crap. Still, though -- gotta maintain control regardless. Taking a rest day today after 5 straight days of exercise. Well, I MIGHT go for a short run later... we'll see.

Hope all the moms have a great day!

    LIZ!

GREAT to see you here. Yay!

Sunny, you sure do eat well... you must be an unbelievable cook.

PT, Char, Joy, Adena, Blue - thanks for checking in. Looks like we're all doing well.

Once again, it's late and I'm not up to giving details... it's been a long day. Didn't get any exercise in, as I was at work all day, but everything else is good.

To the mothers out there - have an awesome Mother's Day!

using mesclun greens, baby spinach, Swiss chard and spring onions picked fresh from my garden
