I haven't been here in a while again...things are getting absolutely crazy at work with the end of the school year so close. We only have 21 more days of school left, but I've got about 45 days of work left!!!
I've been eating on track, water has been great, only have a diet soda now and then (still trying to cut that out completely again!)....and....I'm exercising again
!!! I just finished Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, Level 1...let me tell you...it's a workout!!! SI6 is nothing compared to this!!! Deb is an old softie compared to Jillian!
Well, it's getting late and I have to get things ready for the AM.
Have a great night everyone!

Hello, Everyone!Originally posted by charks1So I'm working on eating more so today's total on fitday
1331 calories
70% protein
23 net carbs- 4%
Protein 26 %
I'll need someones help to let me know if my levels are to high or to low please..
Thank you!!
Breezing through real quick.
Char, you have protein listed twice... You probably meant that 70% to be Fat, right? If so, your percentages look good to me.
Heidi, your numbers look fantastic, as well!
The percentage thing is just a guideline... for Induction, it is 65% Fat, 5% Carbs, and 30% Protein. As you Carb percentage increases in OWL, your Fat percentage decreases... your protein stays constant at 30%. I don't get too stressed over the numbers... the only thing I pay close attention to, is to try to keep my Protein percentage at or under 30%... excess Protein turns to glucose and I don't want that. I know of some members who are great about getting their percentages perfect, but mine rarely work out exactly that way... I just watch for excess protein. Seems to have worked so far.
Liz, I'm sorry to hear that you've been stressed.
Perfectly understandable, though. I know you'll be so glad when all of that business is behind you.
Need to go check on the Veggie Challenge... see you guys later!

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
I missed checking in yesterday but here I am this morning ........ back on track and feeling good! The veggie challenge certainly makes you think about every bite going into your mouth and I love that! I'm keeping my food totals fairly consistant I tend to eat about the same things everyday in different ways but the totals are always pretty close ....... Keeping it right around 1700 calories with 18-22 net carbs ...... and the percentages are good as well. I could get my fat a little higher it's hovering between 62-65% and I think I read it should be about 70% it woldn't take much more then a bit of butter or something like that to get it up there I'm sure. I have taken off what I gained during my mother's day Blitz and am now working on getting down from there ........
Happy Wednesday to you all!
Heidi

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Hi!
I had a good 1st day... the perfectest saint/Atkineer you could imagine...
Today, they scheduled me for surgery for June 2... which is way earlier than I expected, then my cousin emailed me a long thing about Organic cures for cancer in Mexico and I got totally stressed out and ate 4 pieces of toast and some brown rice... the bread was WW but still 4 pieces! For crying out loud! I'm a nut case! What was I thinking? Oh well, tomorrow is another day! I'll start day 1 over again. Up til then I was good fortunately there wasn't anything chocolate in the house or it would be in my belly now too! In fact there is nothing sweet in the house at all... and it's a good thing too I'm telling you!
Okay that was my 'Come to Jesus' moment... I'm clean now.

Good Evening, Friends
Ack! It's late, and I'm tired.
*yawn*
But I've got nothing on you, Sunny! Holy cow, you are one busy lady... I get tired reading about your schedule. Hopefully you will get some relaxation time in after a few more days.
I didn't eat a whole lot today...
Pre-Breakfast (6:30am) - Atkins Chocolate Royale Shake
Breakfast: MUP (no almonds); 1 coffee with cream and Splenda
Snack: 130g jicama; 1 ounce cheddar cheese
Snack: 1 large, whole, yellow bellpepper (raw, cut into strips)
Dinner: Chicken Shwarma Salad I picked up from a local Greek restaurant (romaine lettuce, feta cheese, roasted chicken with an olive oil dressing)
Fitday Totals:
1304 calories
34 net carbs (26 of those were net veggie carbs)
28g fiber (62g carbs - 28g fiber = 34 net carbs)
65% Fat
11% carbs
24% Protein
- Drank 88 ounces of water
- Took Supplements
- Exercise: AB/Core workout at a health club! Yep, I officially belong to a gym now.
I could never afford it on my own, but my brother's wife and 2 daughters got a family membership and it allows for 4 people on it, so they were able to include me. We're splitting the monthly fee 4 ways, so I only have to pay $25 a month to belong.
I'm kinda excited, even though I wasn't crazy about the class I took today. There's lots of other things to try, though, so I'm sure that I will find something that I like.
Have a great Hump-day tomorrow, everyone!

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
I am so busy that I don't have time to eat. I didn't get home from my trip to Charlottesville until 8:30 last night. I had to go to a bunch of places on the way home. Dinner was a can of potted meat, dipped up with pork rinds (7:30 pm) between picking up a prescription and going to the library to get the books I had on hold before they returned them.
Today, I didn't get home until 5 pm and hadn't had lunch yet. I had pastrami from the Amish Cheese Shop and a couple of kinds of cheese. I try not to eat processed meats very often and I know cheese does not agree with me. The pastrami and the cheese are Amish-made and really good. Sigh...It's going to be several more days until life settles back down.
I made curried chicken salad for tomorrow. Long day again and I'll have to pack dinner.
Sunny!

Good Evening, All!
I was here a couple of hours ago and typed out a nice, long, detailed post... and it vanished before my eyes
. Ah, well...
It's great to come here after a long day of work, and see all your posts... even if some of them do involve true confessions.
Heidi!
LOL... I'll bet you did feel like crap after that! You're probably actually looking forward to getting back on plan.
Liz, I hope that you enjoyed your first "back to basic" day!
PT, you're right... the family on my mom's side doesn't fit the strerotypical southern family at all. The Italian heritage overides it.
I can remember running around the restaurant as a tiny kid.. hanging out in the bakery. Yeah... they baked all of their own bread and pastries... cheesecakes, chocolate eclairs, cream puffs. Yowsa... food has always been a main focus of their lives... and for taste good reasons, not health reasons.
Betsy, Ernie is such a keeper! Your food yesterday is EXACTLY the kind of thing I would have liked. I ended up eating salad.
Char, excellent job on the getting back on track! Your food tonight sounds perfect.
Blue, peanut butter is my ENEMY! LOL... I just LOVE it sooooo much, that I cannot be trusted with it. Really, nuts are my downfall. I've been able to get away with a single ounce of raw, natural almonds mixed into my MUP (never from my hand!), MOST of the time. Had that slip-up yesterday with them, so I left them out of my MUP today... had to prove that I could control them today. I will try adding them again tomorrow. Hope that your next few days goes by smoothly.
OK, I have some details today.
Pre-Breakfast (6:30am) - Atkins Chocolate Royale Shake
Breakfast (9:00am) - MUP (no almonds)
Lunch - chicken salad (I hate tuna, so I tried canned chicken with eggs and mayo... it was gross, too); 7 ounces celery
Snack - 1 cup jicama; 1 ounce cheddar cheese
Snack - 1 serving sugar snap peas
Mini-meal - 12 ounce bag of broccoli slaw fried in the dripping of some bacon I made for DH
Mini-meal - Muffin in a Minute with cream cheese
Fitday Totals:
1737 calories
48 net carbs (31 of those were net veggie carbs)
45g fiber (96g carbs - 45g fber = 48 net carbs)
68% Fat
12% Carbs
20% Protein
- Drank 80 ounces of water
- Took Supplements
- No exercise.
Which reminds me - can't believe what I did today! This morning, as I was rushing around getting ready for work, I jammed my knee into the doorframe trim in my bathroom... I mean, I knocked the living crap out of my knee cap.
I got through the day OK, but after standing on my feet for 9 hours straight, that knee is ANGRY now! I am walking with a limp.
Hopefully, this is very temporary and I'll be back to the Couch 2 5K program soon. I was in such a groove with that... I don't want to lose it!
All righty... I'm heading to bed. Have a great day tomorrow, everyone!

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Since we're confessing I need to share that I started eating peanut butter...even though I am only on day 8 of my induction. But the good thing is that I am losing. I think the big stallers for me were dairy (heavy cream) and all the berries I was eating.
I'm also travelling for the next three days and packed some peanuts and jerky for the plane. It's not perfect but you all know airports are packed with temptations. Wish me luck over the next few days. I even thought about packing the peanut butter...lol.
