Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Good morning, I've got my food all settled down, but have not exercised since Monday. I've totally lost interest in it, but have 3 people I am training with for a triathlon! I am going to come face to face with some tough lessons if I don't start making exercise a priority. I've always been one to tackle things one at a time, first the food and then the exercise and then the water and suppliments....one at a time! Now I need to really get my grits together and hit that exercise hard....It tends to create a higher need and DEMAND for food that I don't have need of right now....so that ketosis diminished appetite is a pleasure! With increased exercise will come the need for MORE, MORE, MORE MANAGEMENT.

Aw, Sunny
Sorry your day was so stressful. Hopefully the trip tomorrow will go much smoother.
Adena, I sure do appreciate the encouraging exercise words.
I don't know why it's so easy for me to let it fall by the wayside. I am amazed, and grateful, that I have my C25K to keep me motivated. I would have never thought in a million years that I would attempt running. I actually look forward to it.

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Today turned out much worse than I ever imagined. Traffic was horrible going to UVA and coming home, I got caught in rush hour/construction traffic. It took me 30 minutes to go 2 miles. The 45 minute drive took an hour and 40 minutes. I packed tuna salad for dinner, but got to church just with enough time to gobble a few bites in the parking lot. I am soooo tired.
Food was on track for the whole day, but I'm too tired to type it out. Night, folks! I have to go back to UVA tomorrow!

Day 3 is almost down...I seriously wanted coffee today as my cat kept me up all night but I resisted and had herbal tea instead. I weighed myself today and I am down a pound but still two more to go to be back at my ticker.

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Well, I haven't posted in a while because things have been getting really hectic at work with the end of the school year quickly approaching, but...eating has been on track, water intake has been great, diet soda intake way down (have only had diet soda when we went out for dinner), exercise has been sporadic at best, but at least some is getting done. I did lose another pound this week, so that's good.
I bought some new exercise DVDs...Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and The Biggest Winner Complete Body Workout. Have to get started with them.
Looks like everyone is doing great with the Back to Basics...hopefully, I'll be able to post on a more regular basis soon.

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Sounds delightful!! The best part is BBBL (big bad boss lady) wouldn't be there at UVA!! Something to think about!Originally posted by SunnySmile501Deal! I think every day what a shame it is that I love to cook and don't have a soul doing Atkins to share the food with. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful, so I think all of you should move here and let me feed you! UVA would start you out at about $80,000 a year.

Mitzi -- you were rockin' with your food and exercise yesterday! Sounds like you are doing great on the C25k program. Enjoy those new running shoes -- the right shoes make SUCH a difference.
This is day 3 of induction and I've worked out 4 of the past 5 days, with plans for tomorrow morning, too. Will probably take Friday off, and then 3 miles with my running group on Saturday morning.
Focusing on the basics feels good!

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Good Morning everyone ............ It's day 10 for me and it's going great ........ I guess I'm a little different then everyone because I don't hate induction in fact I love it ............ I love the feeling I have when my boundaries are so defined I don't have to worry about messing up and everything is laid right out there for me rule wise ......... I know it doesn't change much as you add the rungs but I guess I am just a very structured person when it comes to things like this and I love the structure of induction. I will probably sit here on extended induction for awhile ...........
I got my turbo Jam stuff yesterday and did the learn and burn one last night to get ready to start right in witha full work out today .......... I'm excited about it I think I will really like it and enjoy mixing it into my work outs.
Have a fabulous day everyone!
Heidi

Reflections on Today:
- Reporting in here is definitely having an effect on my food choices. Although my calories are fairly high, I really could eat more.
But I don't, because I know I can do without it... it's more of a want to eat, than a need to eat.
- I'm loving that I am able to get my fiber up again! During those 2 weeks, I was averaging about 15g of fiber... waaaay to low for me. I am used to at least 25g, and have gotten as much as 50g before. Good ole' MUP with almonds... that concoction alone has 15g of fiber in it. It's nice to be "regular" again.
- Need to get another eye of round roast; that was the last of it today. I don't use deli meat... I just get an eye of round roast, season it, and throw it in the oven in one of those bags. Easy! They're easy to slice and take along.
- I LOVE my new running shoes! I am SO pysched!!
