Oh no, that would have upset me too !! That is good you kept your temper as he would not have cared anyway. Those kind of people do really seem to care about anyone elses feeling. It is a shame how little people care about making thier customers happy. I am quite shocked that the owner did not at least offer to show you around. He is in the wrong business I would say !!
Well, at least you are getting a good deal and the spin class sounds so great !!!
I do not have control with nuts either, macadamia are my biggest issue so I have to stay very clear of them also. I miss them but like you, have no control sometimes after I start. I will try and maybe do good the first time, but then I will keep going back. So, I understand completely !!
I hope you enjoy it and a nice friendly person shows you around lol !!!

Yeah, Joy... it could be the fruit. I've never been a fruit eater... ever! But damn... it tastes awesome now.

But then again, I don't know. Because these are the exact same kind of binges I had before I added fruit. I think it's the f*cking nuts and peanut butter (excuse my language... it just pisses me off). I have *zero* control with them, and yet, I keep trying. I'm hard-headed.

On another note - I don't remember where I mentioned it before, but I have had a membership to a gym for about 6 weeks now, but have only gone there twice for classes. When I went into the office to request that somebody show me around the machines, the owner (a man ) was sitting at his desk reading the newspaper. He said that I would have to make an appointment for that... even though it was slow in there, and he was just killing time. Really rubbed me the wrong way. It's like - I have your money, customer service doesn't matter now. So, I'm not thrilled with my health club. It's super close to my house, though, and I'm only paying $25 a month because my SIL added me onto their family plan. So, I need to put my big girl panties on and deal with it. I'm going to do a spin class in the morning, then make an appointment to get shown around at some point. I just need to keep my temper in check while I'm there, and make the best of it...

Oh, boy, mitzi! You have had a rough week.

Do you think its possible the seemingly innocent fruit might have awakened the addict within? Perhaps it insiduously prodded you to purchase these seemingly benign foods on their own, (almonds, peanut butter, celery) and just waited for a weak moment to pounce?

I've been out researching on the web for long term goalies. Wanna know what I see? Lots of others who are out there like us, only tolerating meat and veggies and have the exact same troubles with nuts, cheese, dairy. We're not alone. My disappointment is that I thought I would be one of those exceptional people (why, I'm exceptional at almost everything I do, why would this be any different???) who could eat large numbers of carbs. Not so. But, the longer this goes, the more okay I am with that fact. At least I keep telling myself that....

I'm doing it. I may not like it, but I'm doing it. (staying clean)

I decided the other day after reading a post by Lyssie in Adena's journal, that weight training needs to be part of my "Back to Basics" mission.

    Hi, Everyone

Another day that got out of control.

I was doing fine, until the celery. Celery, you ask? Yep.

I don't usually keep peanut butter in the house anymore, because I have control issues with it. But since it's summer and Daniel is home everyday, I thought I would give him another sandwich option. So I got some a couple of weeks ago. And things have been fine... didn't matter at all to me that it was in the cabinet. The other day, I bought some celery to munch on. Knowing full well that it could be trouble. Because you see, I can handle peanut butter alone... I can handle celery alone... but I CAN NOT resist celery and peanut butter together. What was I thinking? I knew damn good and well I was playing with fire when I bought it.

So, after almost half of a new 28 ounce jar is gone, I have thrown the rest of the peanut butter away.

I ran out of celery, anyway.

    Awww, Mitzi,
I am sorry you had a rough day. Do not beat yourself up, you really could have done a lot worse then some almonds, very healthy, and blueberries, also very healthy and the coffee , really, you did not do that bad !!
Just start over and you will be fine. You have gotten to goal and you can stay there too. You are human and it is easy to get in a mood and let food take over but you really did chose some decent things if you had to overindulge !!
I hope today is better !!

Mitzi, what's up with that self-destructive behavior?? It's crazy! I do it all the time too.

I did really good yesterday. A little high on the protein, but it's okay.

    Hi, Everyone

Joy, I really wish that I didn't get sick of chicken so fast. I can eat it a couple of times within a week, but that's about it.

Heidi, I'll be reminding you of your commitment - at the same time I'm reminding myself. Hopefully it will be easier for you, now that the wedding is done. I can understand how that would be very distracting.

OK - my day. It sucked! I am SO disappointed with myself. I have been doing so well with limiting my almonds to the ounce in my MUP each day. Well, I blew that today. Big time. And then I moved on to eating too many blueberries. And tonight, I had 2 cups of decaf coffee with splenda and a whole lot of cream. I've been thinking on why, and I know that a major part of it is because I only had to work for a couple of hours today... I do much better in the structured environment of the boutique. I literally only have access to the food that I bring with me when I work, so as long as I bring the right foods with me, I eat right that day. But damn it! I'm a big girl... I should be able to control myself at home.

Another reason I ate badly - I didn't exercise. How are they related? Well... I was really counting on getting a run in at the track after work today. Things didn't pan out, and I had to move the run till tomorrow. Shouldn't have been a big deal. I should have just done another kind of exercise today at home. I went to the trouble of putting on my workout clothes, but I never did any exercise. And because I was disappointed in myself for not exercising, it put me in a pissy mood... and then the destructive behavior begins. I have got to learn how to break that "domino affect"... that when one thing goes wrong in a day, it is not a mandate that I have to screw up everything else that day. Sheesh...

So, tomorrow is another day (again). I'll try to keep a positive attitude ALL day, no matter what.

SOOOOOOOO NO MORE!!!!! No excuses I am here I am committing to myself and to all of you that I am sticking with this 100% No more foolishness!!!!

Stephie, this sounds fantastic! I'm so excited for you. This sounds like a nice way to get in some exercise. Soon, you'll be noticing your body responding to this exercise, and it's a great feeling. Carry on, girl... you're doing a fine job.

Heidi! Wow, it's nice to hear from you again. I sure do appreciate you taking the time to post the incredible pics. How beautiful! LOL... princess in the mud - priceless!

I'm on my way to work. Short day today - yay! Looking forward to getting a run in at the track this afternoon. Have an awesome day, everyone.

Well, I am sure relieved to see everyone posting again, It was getting a bit lonely here, lol !!
I had another great day and I am happy with my progress. Down another pound to 227, I could not believe it, I made my husband check it again and got off and on a second time, which I normally do anyway, but I was so excited !!
We finally walked today, a half hour, which for me was a lot out in that heat and humidity so tomorrow we will go to the park in town , it is over a hundred years old and the trees are huge so you have shade and they have a brand new paved walking and riding trail It starts there and actually goes seven miles through town, so we will start slow but it gives us something to work toward !! Good Evening, All

Sorry about the slowdown with the thread, Stephie! That happens every now and then. Thanks for kick-starting it again. And with such good news! Boy, you and Glenda are kicking some @ss, aren't you?! Well done, ladies.

Glenda, I like the Fage greek yogurt, too. I haven't tried any other, because the other brand I saw was flavored with different things, which means sugar in some form. DH has tried Greek Gods brand and liked it, but it has honey in it, so I avoid it. The single only place I've been able to find greek yogurt in my neck of the woods is Whole Foods. I hope that you are able to find some, because it is really good. I haven't eaten it in quite a while, but I do have fond memories.

Ah, Joy... sorry that your food is so boring. I don't think that I could stomach that much chicken. Have you started clucking yet?

I'm still on a Fitday strike. Still eating a pretty good amount of fruit. So far, no problems. I think. Time will tell, I guess. I guess I need to start weighing more often than once a week, since I'm not keeping track of anything. But I've been in the habit of Sunday weigh-ins for so long, that I forget. When I weighed this past Sunday, I was up to 125 again. But I drank 2 glasses of wine at my reunion Saturday night, on top of drinking less than half of my minimum of water that day, so I wasn't surprised. I'll weigh again sometime in the next couple of days. Feeling normal, though.

Fage is a brand of greek yogurt and is/was my absolute favorite.

Keep up the good work, Stephie! You're doing great.

As for me...I'm still eating the same old boring boring.

    Today:
Bfast: 1/2 of a 1 lb bag of cauliflower mashed with 3 eggs fried in 1 tbspn of lard
Lunch: 1 chicken leg quarter, 2 cups broccoli steamed with 1 tbspn lard and 2 boiled eggs
Dinner: 4 cups of salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pepper, broccoli) with 1 tbspn walnut oil salt & pepper and 1 chicken leg quarter
Late Dinner: 1 cup salad, 1 tbspn walnut oil and chicken thigh

    Boring, boring, boring.

I'm looking for some name brands of Greek Yogurt. I can't seem to find it here in Vermont. I have been eating cottage cheese & ricotta cheese with no problems!! Thinking of movinig on to the berry rung especially now that strawberries are in season here. Nervous about making the move.

I weighed in today & I was happily surprised that the metal monster showed a 1.8 # loss!!! I am one happy girl!! Don't know WTF is happening but I'm going with the flow & will keep doing what I'm doing!!
