  • Re: Do the ICES CHALLENGE with Sarah and Yoly

Nope girl I lost 4 so you are doing awesome at least I lost it's slow now I am very close to goal I have another 28 pounds to go so all is well. My heart kinda dropped when I weighed I was really hoping for 199 but, it's not in the cards. The good news is I lost 4% bodyfat from my measurements and of course the stupid scale won't tell you that. It's going away for 2 more weeks and we'll se then. I am swollen and retaining water from Ovulation so who knows I may be in Onederland I'm just holding onto water but, today I am 203.

I am happy if anythign I learned I can really do a lot better without the scale and have more modivation from watching my inches decline. The number isn't what matters any how it's how you feel and the measurements tell ya more then anything.

I am going to check my measurements and see how many inches I have lost since I started the challenge I bet it's pretty good.

Today is another running day for me 4 miles I will be off and running in about 10 minutes so wish me luck and have a great day

Good luck on your run, I know you'll do great.

I know what you mean about being kind of dissapointed when stepping on the scale, I really wanted to be lower then where I was. All week I have been anxious about weighing, then this morning I was practically shaking as I stepped on the scale. Why am I putting myself through this torture? Yesterday I felt fantastic about the amount of work I was doing, I felt great about how I looked and how much I was losing, and a stupid inatimate object has now made me feel bad. Well to **** with that, I'm not sure if I'll weigh again, I don't need it. This challenge has openned my eyes to the truth, as long as i'm here working my program as hard as I can I will look and feel great, no matter if I never lose another pound on the scale again.

I love you, I am proud of you. (((Sarah))) Great job, I couldn't have done it without you there cheering me on.

Monday sounds great for the start of our new challenge. I am so ready for this, I am going to do my Start it UP tonite and probably taking a rest day tomorrow but Sunday I'll be back in full effect kicking butt. No doubt!

Did we decide to do Rung 1 and 2 or had we decided to stay in Extended Induction?

I am interested in staying here maybe for a few more weeks and then seeing where we can go. What do you think? Some people say they lose faster on OWL rung 1 and 2 and some say they lose slower, I would hate to slow down, I want to keep this momentum and pace going until I hit 165.

We could stay on extended induction for 1 month then go to rung 1 and 2 here in the month after How would that be I am losing extremely slow right now so I think that would be a good idea.

That sounds fantastic! I am so excited to get started again.

What do you think about the scale? I will try to weigh a few more times coming up in the next few days but come Monday I will not weigh. You don't have to do this if you don't want, but I feel like it really helps me.

              What do you think?

Congratulations to BOTH of you!! I'm so sorry I haven't been here to cheer you on! My cousin's house was destroyed in the hurricane so we've been dealing with moving her and my niece and nephew back up here and helping them get settled. I admit I haven't stayed in induction, but I haven't strayed too badly, and I've lost another 2 pounds. I'm at 203 right now (Sarah! We're twins, I swear. We're always the same weight! Hee.) and ready to see those numbers move down. I started induction again today and am going to stay here through the end of the month and then work the rungs again. I'm kind of excited about it, actually. When I'm in induction and the early rungs I actually cook a lot more, and I eat food I really like better. Isn't that weird? I think I just experiment more, and it helps keep me satisfied.

I ran 2 miles last night, and I'm going to walk tonight then follow it up with a 3 mile run tomorrow. I have my first 5K in one month and I'm ready to train hard for it!

                You're both wonderful. Congratuations!!!

Ran 5 miles instead of 4 I was thinking this week I have upped my milage and speed that could totally account for the water retention very normal when you tax your body. I think I will weigh one more time on Sunday and call it for 2 weeks or till after My TOM cause it's fast approching LOL. I don't need to weigh it sucks any how LOL. I am thinking I am be in a size 14 so long as it's wide leg so I hope that's the case.

                  Take care

I am so glad that you joined Speedy, yes we are some tough cookies but you will love your results come wiegh in time.

I went to try on more wedding dresses today and I have another appointment tomorrow to go with my sisters and my mom, I am super excited about getting a dress. I told them about my weight loss issues and how I expected to lose a lot more by the time of the wedding, the manager was super nice she said that if I lost a ton of weight I could bring it in and exchange it for a smaller size and even told me they could order the smaller size for me if they didn't have it in the store.

Jon is taking Abi and I out to dinner tonite and while he is putting her to sleep I will do my SI6, I'm excited. I can't wait until another month goes by to see where I am on the whole weight loss sceen.

                          • Re: Do the ICES CHALLENGE with Sarah and Yoly

Basically what we did is got together and thought up of some of the things we found most challenging. My issue was the scale, Sarah's the cream. We both wanted to up our excercise and also wanted to start fresh.

So that's what we did, If you look at the first post Sarah describes very prettily what ICES stands for.

This challenge just ended today, but we will have a new topic up by Monday for next month's. Basically following the same premise, we will do extended induction for this next challenge and see where we take it after that. After Monday I will not weigh in until next month, I would incourage you to do the same, that way you will be doing things right for "rights sake". This has helped me tremendously.

Also another thing that was very helpful about this challenge that I hope will continue next challenge is the posting. We would come on here and post several times a day, how we were doing with our food, our excercise, our lives in general. Sarah and I liked each other before this challenge but through it we have attained a real bond, I hope to get that with you too Speedy, that is what this challenge is about. Being here for each other, motivating each other, kicking each other in the butt if we should ever need it.

What are you currently doing for excercise? Sarah runs her booty off about 25 miles a week, and I do all kinds of excercise tapes about 5 times a week an hour each. This challenge is about really becoming an active person and "working" your atkins/program to get the max benefits.

I'm so glad you decided to join, I wish more people had joined with us this past month, if you take it as seriously as Sarah and I did this past month I know that you are going to be feeling fantastic by the time our next weigh in comes around.

I'm gonna call it a sick/rest day and not do anything tonite, I'll ice it down for a while and sleep with a heating pad tonite, it should be fine by tomorrow.
