    Re: Buddy List July 21 - 27

Ok this bites! While I was busy writing to you all (was almost done) internet explorer had issues! They closed off everything.. so now I have to start all over. Boohoo.. *crying - I wanna go to bed* lol

KIKI - Congrats on the 2lb loss, happy to hear you had a good day.

MIKE - Way to resist temptation I hope you made it for your walk and enjoyed the nice day

VAL - I hope school is starting off well for you and that your db is learning lots from the shows

CORI - Thank you for the warm welcome and I hope things get better your way real soon.

MONI - Congrats on your weight loss . . . WOOHOO . . . As for having all that energy.. how about sharing some of it huh! LOL That definitely isn't my problem, I actually want more energy but also would like to sleep at night ~sighs~

ANDIE - Stay strong it's bound to get better

IRISH - I hope you have a fantastic time on your visit back home! (vacation!!) lol

Well let me see.. do I have anything to say about me for today?? lol Ohh yeah.. I know I'm suppose to do this on Thursday, but I was curious so I didn't wait. . . Measurements are down in ALL areas except two! I won't say by how much till Thursday morning Thursday morning is when I will know my results for weight and measurements after one week of Induction! I did pretty good for water intake today.. 128oz's I joined up with my first challenge! It's a Stair Climb Challenge.. right now I'm working on climbing Big Ben I think I used up like 18.5 carbs today (it's written down in the other room) All in all Tuesday was a pretty good day, and I hope it was for all of you!

        Mornin' Buds!!

Great bike ride this morning, raining and I didn't care--going to go out again when I get home tonight too. And just have very minor sniffles!

Sassy--name fits--I gained my 14th day of induction--then a few days later my body just drained and I lost 6 pounds--They call it the Whooshie's here! sooo the idea is I guess--don't go by the scale!

(digging thru your fridge) I'll inspect "those" --so called veggie's...
Hmmm--putting on my new "Specs"---this yellow pepper look suspicious!
( who the heck eats yellow peppers?) Ah HA!! found your hidden stash of---oh--it's just tomato's---

Thanks from my family! Cori-- my awesome daughter had a whoosh last night. everything is proceeding well!

        Recieved a Ransom note:
hand over 5 bags of Snicker's and a pony and we will untie Elsie from the tree out back..other wise we start a game of William Tell! you have an Apple we can borrow?

Hope to hear from you soon!!

        Have a great day all!!

Bill and Sassy - is everybody on vacation but us?!! Really quiet around here.

I'm having a good week so far. I've stayed off the scales and have walked a mile each of the last 2 nights. Shooting for 4 miles by Sunday.

Hope everybody's having a good day.
          Stay strong!
          Mike

ALMOST FORGOT - congratulations on completing your first week Sassy! Way to hang in there!

            Re: Buddy List July 21 - 27

            Hi Gang!!

Company is finally all gone. I am very very tired! I highly don't recommend having so many people for so long with out a lot of meal planning to stick to this WOE. I did okay...BUT...remember all that wine I bottled during induction? It was sampled. A wholewheat hot dog bun and hamburger bun also. Some birthday cake. Some wholewheat pasta...and fruit. All in all...not bad but not good. Worse was the fact that none of those days in the past week and a half did I have all my water...or even close to it...not enough veggies either...hardly any salads...not enough sleep....I am sunburned..BAD..this is the fourth day and I still can hardly touch it. Am retaining water...probably because of not drinking enough and from the burn. I contribute all the above to my 3...yes, the magic number this week...pound GAIN. Now I need to work at getting back on track.

            Replies for last week...page 11 and 12..

Monie...way to go on getting your exercise challenge meant.

Val...what a great support you are to BF!!! Good on you for getting all your exercise in!

            Vanessa...2 months already?? Congrats!!

Bekka...13.2 pounds!!!! That is great! I won't bug you about moving up since you already have a plan and know that for optimal success you need to do that.

Renie...welcome!!! Glad to have you join us!

Sassy...good for training DH on the water!!

            Replies for this thread....

Bill...you are still sick?? That sucks! 3 pounds down!! Yippee Skippee! YAHOO for DW!!!! Why didn't YOU untie me from the tree??!!! LOL!! Hey...about the meatballs and the cabbage...how about a mock stroganoff kind of thing??

Bekka...that is cool that your parents are lowcarbing also..sure makes it easier.

            Vanessa...23.5 inches lost?? AMAZING!!!

Kiki...welcome! You are so close to saying good bye to the 200's! Keep up the great work. Take your measurements!!! Look at Vanessa...6 pounds down and 23.5 INCHES!! Congrats on another 2 pounds down!!

Mike...good for you for trying to get your exercise in even though it is hot! Good on you for knowing you need a morning plan!!! Now plan!

f4n...Weigh to go on the 3 pounds down!!

Irish...hope you have a great vacation. Do you have a plan?

Andie...way to go on getting the exercise in!!! It does help to raise your spirits! Keep going..baby steps is still stepping!!

Val...ditch the sticks. I mean, really, they are telling you aren't in ketosis but you lost 2 pounds last week. Save your money. Just stick to the plan. There are so many things that can affect the color of them anyway...how much/little water/fat/protein you are intaking. They are not totally reliable and if the color or lack there of is bugging you just don't use them. If you lost 2 pounds last week but think you need to cut something out because of the color of the stick...then do the splenda since that affected you in the past...but really I would wait and see. Monie is right...you fat should still be high. Once we climb the ladder our protein stays about 30% and the fat decreases and the carbs increase...slowly. Plunk it into fitday and see how you are doing. The lack of fat may contribute to the stick color. LOL on the handflicking. Amazing the habits we get into without realizing.

Monie...3 pounds!! You rock girl!!! 22 pounds down..you deserve everyone of them!!

Sassy...love the support you are showing everyone here! 1 week down! You are doing so good...keep up the great work! Way to go on joining some challenges! I am with you on the shopping...HATE IT! You can walk in there feeling good about what you have lost and then walk out feeling like kaka. I wish they would all size the clothes the same!!!

Cori...kudos for you for not giving up and working on figuring out your body and for knowing that you need to be more dedicated to water and exercise etc. LOVE your attitude!

            Joe...where are you??

Okay...I think I am all caught up. Need a nap now! Probably so do all of you if you made it all the way through this post!!! Hope I didn't miss anything!

Elsie--get some rest! (slapping you on the back)
and the rumors about ME saying: shooting a Tomato off the top of someone's head is better and messier than an apple are totally unfounded!
and there gone? what am I going to do with 5 bags of---hmm--MMMMM-never mind, I'll take care of everything---the low carb buns and pasta and fruit are ok--but the birthday cake?? and you cut out the corner with the roses and the big "H"!! before it was served! poor kid had to blow out a "appy Birthday!" cake..good news is I hear that restarting induction is easy!

Glad you had a well deserved good time!!!! and welcome back!

HEY! Who put this tomato on my puter chair!!!???

LOL Bill! (laughing lightly because when I do apparently I use the muscles between my shoulder blades and underarms and it is so burnt there I have little blisters) Well at least the tomatoes are low carb! No icing roses for me. Just a small piece of DS's ice cream cake. I am not going to restart induction. Here is why...I read over and over again of people falling off the wagon or having a cheat and then restarting induction..good for a week or two or three and then they cheat again and go back to induction. In my book that is yoyo dieting and abusing Atkins. They never move on or learn what works and doesn't work. I will continue on where I was..see how I do and then go from there. If I were at pre-maintenance or maintenance that is what I would do...I wouldn't go back to induction and start over climbing the rungs. Anyway...just my take on it. Time will tell.

I think that is the right way to go. I mean its one thing to do an induction menu for a day or two after a cheat to get yourself back into ketosis but to start all over again every time just seems like a bad idea and an overly harsh punishment. I say just keep on truckin.'

Yay Vanessa! Another C25k-er!! We have a thread if you want to join in! I just finished day 2 of week 5. It's an awesome program. You'll love it!

Ah vacation....hmmm a plan? Well, ya'll are going to yell at me here...... I've thought long and hard about this vacation thing. It's been over 5 years since I've spent vacation with my family. During vacation my mother makes the best meals of the year. So I decided to instead of saying I won't cheat, I won't cheat, I won't cheat...and then cheating, I'm not gonna lie I'm gonna cheat. Well the way vacation is going to work out is that my parents are going to provide dinner for everyone every night, all the other meals are up to us...So... I'm going to eat legally for breakfast, lunch, and snacks but dinner I'm gonna eat what my mom cooks. I know this isn't right and everything and ya'll are going to yell at me but...............yeah well that's it.

                        Hope everyone is well.

Well...I guess I can't yell at you. Maybe you might want to look into the rules for Carbohydrate Addict's diet. Don't they allow you a reward meal a day? Since you are going to eat whatever your Mom is cooking no matter what we say then let's see if you can make this a learning experience. Practice at staying on the plan during the day knowing your supper meal is coming. Don't use your vacation as an excuse to eat several cheats throughout the day. Try to drink your water. Eat your supper and right back on plan. Good luck!!!!

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing Elsie! Thanks!

The beauty of it is that my mom is on Atkins, she has been for the last 4 years I think. She's been a huge success story and she's been very successful in maintanence. So knowing her and the fact that she knows I'm on Atkins means there probably won't be too too much I can cheat with...hehe.
