Sorry Britini...sharing my puter with the kids. What did you do for lunch? I would have said ask if the meatballs are all meat or if they use bread crumbs in them. They have salads there though, don't they? Maybe donate a few minutes to having a plan of what you can buy from the resturants around you so you know ahead of time for those days when you don't have a packed lunch. Ask Subway for a nutritional printout or see if there is one online. I know MacDonald's has one online.

Yeah, that's hard for me to do though seeing as I've never been that into fast food! I'll definitely do that, though. I heard McDonalds salads have tons of sugars!!

I didn't do anything for lunch and my body is killing me already for it - it's going to be a LONG afternoon as I barely ate breakfast. I'm just super melacholy and on edge...could cry right now... under a lot of stress with one of the roommates who moved in... etc...So I'm probably going to eat when I get home from work at 5:30-6ish and then excersize to make sure my metabolism isn't completely stopped for the day. The reason I didn't have a lunch is because I left it at my new house in the fridge all packed up but I ended up going to my mom's house last night because of the roommates...so even though I had packed it to bring along, when I rushed out the door I forgot about it.
So I won't hesitate no more, no more

Yikes...no lunch. Hmmm...how about you pack a serving size of pork rinds in a bag for the drawer at work or a slim jim?? For times like this? As you climb the rungs you will be able to have more options. IE...some nuts or some peanut butter. Hey..in the stores I have seen little cans of tuna and mayo....wonder if they have sugar in them? Even the ones with the crackers...you could just throw them out. Point is that they are on the shelves so they would be okay in your drawer as well. Check it out.

Sorry to hear about the roommate trouble and I hope it will work itself out.

Elsie... all wonderful suggestions, really, but that's the thing: I'm so damn picky! No tuna for me! No fish period! I didn't know we could have slim jims, but I definitely will try picking some up... and pork rinds I don't like either, lol!!

I'm nearly impossible... but still slightly possible... =)

I think I will bring some string cheese for work, or whatnot: can always store stuff in the fridge here for emergencies like this, but really this is just because of the move and whatnot... usually very prepared...

          Thank you

LOL...slightly possible...there is hope for you yet then. Slim jims...look for ones with no sugar. Well of course you are usually prepared..but then that is why they are called emergencies...LOL! Can't think of anything else off the top of my head that will keep. If you think of anything let me know.

              Re: Buddy List Aug 11-17

              hello buddies!!

elsie- i feel like in some way i've let you down, i know i haven't been posting on the buddy list much the last couple weeks. like you said though, sometimes life is so busy that it gets in the way of us doing things we enjoy. i do truly enjoy the interaction of this buddy list. it does seem like we've lost several of our original buddies and many of the new buddies we've gained lately have either not come back after their original post to the thread or have been too busy to post very often. always know that i'm available if you want to pm me. this is still the first place i come check out when i come to the boards. i'm very proud of all the success that our buddies we've made along the way have had. i hope that in some way this buddy list had something to do with those successes.

tomorrow is a new start for me as i plan to go back to the basics and be more accoutable with my food, exercise, and water. i'm not gonna go back to induction, but am gonna concentrate more on the things i need to do to get to my goal. i weighed myself the other day, and have lost yet another lb. bringing my total so far to 26 total lbs lost and 21 lbs to go. i'm more than half way to my goal now. it really truly is unbelievable that eating such tremendously delicious foods can actually help you lose weight. i wish there were some way to convince more people that if they really stick with this they can lose the weight.

i hope to see all of our buddies back in here soon, and hope that we can continue to offer each support and encouragement. i will try to get more involved with the buddy list again as well. it will be another step to help me get back to the basics.

Monie...you haven't let me down! No need to feel that way. No need for anyone to feel that way! I think that the thread was here at the time that it was needed for those that needed it. I like to think we have all made a connection with each other and I surely count you among my special buddies. You know we have been together since the first thread..you, me and Bill! And I am happy that our other buddies found this thread and decided to stay as well..I miss the ones that only stayed a while and am always happy to hear from those that recheck in after an absence and I am glad that we have some new ones that like to participate as well. I like to think they are here to stay as well. I hope that all of us continue to stay in touch either through this thread or when if finally dies through pm'ing. Everyone is welcome to pm me!!

I hear you about the basics...I am sure that keeping better track will help a lot!! Though you seem to be doing great with a loss last week and this week. I am slacking myself but am also just trying to make it through summer and an upcoming holiday in September and then I will be back to basics myself. Congrats on your pound lost. I was thinking of you yesterday and marvelling at how well you are doing! Not to say that you aren't working for it but saying that for the amount you had to lose the rate at which you have and how far you have come in...really...a short time is amazing!!! Only 21 more pounds to go....truly inspiring!!! This week I matched you in losing a pound..giving me 20 pounds lost and a heck of a lot left to go...LOL! I know that we are going to have several success stories from people on this thread!! We have some very determined people here who are true fighters and who don't give up even when the going gets rough. You certainly will be one of the winners!!

Anyhow...more company coming for 3 days..SIGH...while the thought is nice I really am looking forward to getting back to concentrating on what I need to be doing when summer and holidays are over.

                  Elsie
                  Monie
I'm still here! I remember clearly our first days learning the boards, this WOE, and meeting you guy's...it was some of the best interaction we could have hoped for..Yes we have welcomed and never heard from again many bud's..but I believe we helped them the best we could.
I too wanted a more interactive thread and I tried to be more than just a cheerleader, but wanted to share this WOL and our results with other's.

Tho I have been really busy this month--I have remained inspired and I am still motivated to continue on to my goal--and of coarse having the Family share this with me is just amazing.

like you both--I hope to get on top of things soon and get back to posting regularly again....but...I have a back--up

You have met my daughter and seen her pics---My wife will be on-line
tonight and introduce herself and join in-- to discuss her journey and to
help and be helped when and where she can...

I am stalled a bit--still losing inch's--just have not shed any pounds yet..
                  but I am excercising 2.5 to 3 hours a day...down from a 46 waist-- to a 36 waist now..feels good!

Bill...we are all busy I think...I am sure the thread will pick up again. We have a good group going I think. I am glad you responded to my thread in the beginning and have had so much success and been able to lead your family to be healthier as well. Hugs!

Really?? She is joining us?? Under no duress?? Very exciting!!!

A 36 inch waist??!!! What a hottie! LOL! Do me a favor...if you are feeling a bit discouraged about the scale not moving (and you shouldn't be because with all that exercise you are surely building muscle which weighs more) and really who cares if the scale is higher than you want it to be if you are more muscler and thinner looking anyway...okay....back to topic...take your tape measure and put it tight around your waist to the 36 inch mark...now, keeping it together, move it out to the 46 inch mark and hold it out. OMG...look at all that space!!! Did you know that 10 inches looked that big?? Amazing!!! You are doing great!!

Britni: I'm coming into your conversation very late in the game (sorry my odd schedule) and I just wanted to let you know that you can use this awesome website to show restaurants nutrition for your "have no lunch days"...it's called www.calorieking.com ! I love this place...opens your eyes a bit anyhow..I looked up the subway meatballs and if you want you can go here:

CalorieKing - Calorie Counter - Calories in Subway, Sandwich Components: Individual Meats, Meatballs

                      Wooo!

Anyhow, I have some rather depressing news. I bought myself a new scale and well, it seems my old scale and I do mean old...was a bit off. Say about 3.5 to 4 pounds. I will be re-weighing myself in the morning and redoing my signature and my ticker. I was a bit discourage by the fact that my new scale showed me more weight than what I was looking at before. I felt awesome seeing myself at such a low weight. However,on a brighter side. I still have lost about 9.5 pounds! I am still moving forward...

See you in the morning all!

Elsie..the visit was uneventful. It brought back all the issues we had before my family moved to Texas...My Ex's gf eyeballed me the whole time I was around him (as if I wanted him back :P ). My son has the same "withdrawals" as he did back in NH--he's acting up, back talking, etc. I felt that the visit really didn't go the way that it should have. They focused about 65% of their time with him when it should have been 99%. I guess you can't change people. The only shining moment out of this past weekend was the look I got from both of them (since losing all the weight!), I'm sure his gf (whom is at about 360 pounds herself) didn't like it. Whatever, I'm working my butt off...literally! hehe!

Unlike my other attempts to lose weight (from working out constantly and eating 1000 calories a day thing) I don't feel let down. I see the way I look now versus when I started...I feel my clothes fitting differently. I'm happier now and feel positive about the future. I know I can be a perfectionist and want the end results now ..but this time, I know I can do this. It's funny..my pharmacist and I were talking about a restaurant and I told him, "Eww gross!" Two months ago I would have been drooling to eat their. Fast food has lost its appeal to me. Another goal for me since I looooove french fries!

I'd bet money that those kinds of visits rarely go as they should. You do the best you can to make it easier on the kids while still not letting them cross a line. Your son will clue in himself about his Dad as he gets older. Trust me.

LOL..I bet the look on their faces were a sweet added bonus to your new healthier life style!! LOLOL!!

bill- wow...you are doing so awesome.....46 waist to a 36 waist is no small feat. you are definately a big inspiration to us all. so glad to hear that your DW will be joining us. feel like she's already a part of our little group, it will be great to get to know her. hope cori is doing ok...haven't heard from her in a while. please let her know we miss her and to stop in whenever she gets a chance.

robin-great to see you checkin' in. so sorry about the whole scale thing. i remember not too long ago there was a whole big thread from someone with the very same situation with the old scale vs the new scale thing. you seem to have the right attitude about it, the truth is you still lost what you have lost. nothing changes that fact. you are doing great. i may check out that site you provided as well. i normally pack a lunch to take to work everyday, but sometimes allow myself 1 day a week to go out for lunch. it usually ends up being just a bunless burger from wendy's or burger king, but that site might give me some other ideas. if not it will atleast help me know which restaurants to stay away from.

i just thought i'd let you all know about the OWL back to basics thread that Mitzi started a few weeks(maybe a couple months) ago. i've been eyeing the thread for a while, now feeling i need to go back to basics myself have joined in the thread. it's kinda like a buddy list or maybe more like a roll call type thread for OWL'ers. i thought it'd be nice to check in there once a week just to make sure i do truly get back on track. in no means does it mean i'm going to leave our little group which i truly adore, but thought i'd let you know about it just in case you ever feel the need for a little more support on OWL phase of the diet. there's some great ideas and stories on that thread if you ever get a chance to check it out.

time for bed.....had a vacation day today, but gotta get back to work tomorrow. night all

Gives those of us that are on OWL a chance to talk about it and gives the inductees a peek and some knowledge for their journey.
