    Hi Sassy1:

    I'm on induction. This coming Monday will be my second week. Thanks for welcoming me into the Buddie room.

    Atkins is great but this forum has given me insight into areas I never would have had the time to figure it out on my own. I have no clue how much I've lost already, but I started out at ~245 lb and I figure I'm around 228 by now.

    The real cool thing about the AD is that I'm eating like a maniac and shedding fat at an incredible rate. My lean mass has increased by about 10 lb. My body fat when I started was at 32% + and the last time I calipered myself was down to 26.9%. My goal is 11-15% fat range but weighing between 185-195 lb. I've always worked out like a beast but the last 3-4 years I've been busy doing research. I never had a chance to get back into bodybuilding.

      Welcome Norman sounds like you are doing great already, keep updating us often on your progress.

      Sassy good luck with your measurements, i hope you lost lots of inches i think i need to do alot more exercise, so far its just walking alot but its not active enough. As my brother says if i dont sweat its not exercise :rollseyes: lol

        this buddy thing sounds terrific. I need all the support I can get. I have attempted this many times and have never achieved...All the words of wisdom helps and wanted. I am here for anyone also....

          Norman - Hello to you too and it's my pleasure to welcome new people to our sweet lil pad here! I think Atkins is terrific myself, but I know different things work for different people. It sure would appear that Atkins is working very well for you!! To have lost almost 20lbs in 2 weeks.. WOW.. that's awesome! I know for myself I like to weight in once a week and take my measurements once a month, but everyone finds there own system that works for them. Did you take a before picture? It's great to find a new way of eating that allows you to have fatty meats and such, to eat often, and still be able to lose weight! I wish you great success and look forward to seeing more updates from you.

          Focus - Thanks for the luck, and maybe it helped? I am sad to report though.. my weight went UP so now I can't say I've lost 50lbs.. I'm at 48lbs however.. my inches have gone down! I have lost in total 54 inches and 48lbs. This is the first time ever that my loss of inches has been higher than my pounds lost. Weird! My dh says it's due to gaining muscle which weights more than fat?? I was so ANGRY after I got of the scale, that was until I decided to start trying on clothes! LOL.. I modeled for my dh for almost 3 hours Woohoo.. I had some serious fun! I discovered many items of clothes not only fit now that didn't, but alot of them are too big! Cool! So for the month that I've been back on track here, I've lost 8lbs and 12 inches. You should come walking with me! My walking gets sweat results

                This week, I started going back to our local gym, because I was getting bored with my workouts at home. DH must think I'm crazy, because I make him wait for me about 30-40 minutes after he's finished with his routine. I actually like going.

                    Hi to all that have posted like to join your buddies group.I am back on induction after breaking diet last weekend basically i started diet last july on my birthday7th and set a goal till this july 7th i was 283 then today im 185 exact nearly 100lb loss i keep stalling hate it but im hanging in there lost alot after having my baby.Good luck 2 u all.

                      welcome sham you have done so well so far, keep posting on here to get back on track. i know you can do it and get to your goal

                      Sassy sorry you gained but it might mean next time you weigh in you will get a better result. I guess we cant always go down in weight as long as we stick at it

                      i really need to add more exercise into my life, i know i cant say it but i do!! still at my parents until this afternoon and dont have much prepared and also know my fridge at home is bare hopefully will be able to get some food in so arent stuck for options.

                      i weigh myself today and have lost 2lbs, thats 13lbs in 26 days really happy about this. i want to lose another 6lbs by 18th of june. do you think thats achieveable? 6lbs in 10 days?

                        Cara - Good for you in getting back into going to the gym I'm sure your dh is happy to see going. I'm sure he's proud of all your hard effort, just like the rest of us are!

                        Norah - Woohoo.. you're going to the gym as well! I'm starting to feel like the odd person out here LOL.. How often do you go? How's maintenance going? DO you find it easier to slack off when at goal vs working towards getting there?

                        Sham - Hello Welcome to and to our lil buddies group! It's wonderful to see our list of buddies growing! This is a great place to come and share how your days are going, to come and get support, advice, share in ideas, or to lend support to another, etc. It's a wonderful place to hang out. We're glad to have you here and I look forward to sharing in your journey. Congrats on the huge weight loss so far! You should be proud.

                        Focus - Congrats on your weight loss As for what's achievable, all you can do is try your hardest and the out come should pay off with great results. You had better get the right foods though, or you could run into a brick wall. I hope you're having a great visit at your parents place.

                        I do have some good news to report.. I decided to jump on the scale this morning and after a couple more days of drinking water and sweating to death I'm very happy to report that I'm down 4lbs! That brings me to my lowest weight as of yet! I'm now 173lbs.. wooohooo It's hard to believe that another 4lbs lost will have me in the 160's and also if I lose another 9lbs, I'll officially weight less then my dh for the first time ever! LOL

                        I hope everyone's weekend is going well.

                            Re: The gym; I've haven't been in a month (not that I wasn't exercising; I was walking) and I really notice my energy level has suffered. Plus, my knees are beginning to hurt again. SO ... back to the gym THIS week. I mean it !

                              Focus - I will see my Mom. Aunt and Uncle in roughly 48hrs. I am so excited to be able to see my Mom again!! I hope she really sees a difference when she looks at me. I won't be with them long, but long enough to have lunch and to give my Mom her Mother's Day gift as she asked me to hang on to it until she got here. I now have to include a birthday gift lol.. as it's my Mom's birthday on June 11th. I'm happy to know that you got more food.

                              Norah - At least you know what you need to do, as our bodies have a funny lil way of telling us. You have done well my friend, and I know you will continue to do so.

                              Thank you both for your encouragement and excitement on my lil victories! I'm off to work here shortly, so will check back later tonight if I can. If not, I'll be back tomorrow.

                                Hi focus 83 and the rest of the gang hows it going hope alls well with you all well yesterday was hard as im back on induction from last week had cracking headache today much better but mildlt still there it could be down to not drinking much i know i should but trust me i do drink but not that much.WEight loss going ok today i was 185 well hope tomorrow the scale goes at least a lb down fingers crossed.Good luck 2 u all with your next weigh ins since in the uk its 11.14pm goodnight to you all sweet dreams!
