      Okay I am joining this challenge! I am going to make it cheat free until my birthday (and hopefully beyond) but my goal is 77 days and I day is completed!

            Okay so I made it to 55 days without cheating. I have been a little absent off the boards lately as I think I hit a mental block and abandoned all my challenges- I had to take some time and re-think how I'm approacing my journey and I think that I put way too many expectations on myself.

            The cheat came at a bridal shower- I had even brought some SF chocolate with me. It was a wine and cheese theme so there were lots of yummy cheeses and veggies for me to eat- I had no alcohol and stuck to water and 1 glass of coke zero. My friend had made these apple bars (actually very wholesome with only a tiny bit of brown sugar and homemade apple sauce) and these things called magic squares (graham crust, coconut, chocolate, sweetened condesed milk and almonds)- so bad. I resisted and resisted for hours- then I broke down and said it's been over 50 days- I'm going to have a bite and throw it away. I picked the smallest square (about 1.5" by 1.5") and took one bite. Then I ate the rest- then an hour later I had another small square and one of the apple squares. Although I did pick the smallest ones- I was amazed at how I just kept saying well- I'll have one more. I stopped at 3 and was very proud of myself. I did cheat, but I exercised moderation and did not beat myself up. I drank a crap load of water and went for a walk. I ate nothing else that evening-except a couple of pieces of SF chocolate cause the sugar craving kicked in. Having that sugar made me feel so sick- I felt like I was going to throw up- so I totally learned my lesson!

            I will remind myself that - to err is human and to forgive is divine. I'm trying to be divine right now. I felt bad and my husband told me to look at how much I have accomplished in such a short time. I know I'm still losing although I refuse to weigh and have not measured in a while. He told me to think of the fact that I stopped at 3 small pieces and that 4 months ago I probably would have had 10 or more. He told me to think of all the legal foods that I ate before I slipped- he told me to be proud that I was human and allowed myself to slip with little reprocussion and to not feel bad or guilty- cause those magic sqaures were damn good- but I am never eating one again and just because you cheat one day, doesn't mean you will everyday

            I think that I need to move on to OWL- because I swear this cheat and my lack of motivation have come from being bored with my food choices- I'm sick of eggs and bacon and have been avoiding them somewhat- I'm not really hungry and have to forced myself to eat lately (that's astonishing to me!!!). I'm going to re-read the induction chapter and the OWL chapter and start tomorrow- I want one more clean day of induction eating. I'm also a little foggy on how OWL works- so If someone could explain the finer points just to give me some clarification, that would be awesome!!

            Sorry my post is so long- I just really needed some friendly eyes-

              Read the stickies in the OWL forum, thats what i do each time i move a rung, theyre great help!

              Your first one is just adding more veggies, so thats quite simple, i cant offer better advice that to go to the forum Good luck! and well done on not beating yourself up TOO much

                Lucidlemon 55 days is really impressive, Emma is right - don't beat yourself up about it! Your husband is also right, you've achieved a lot and you said yourself you cheated in moderation. I really believe that some people develop in jumps in order to get this WOL right. I was definately one of them! I would cheat quite a bit and really badly, then less often but still badly, and then less often still and not so bad and now I'm hoping to cut it out altogether.

                  You guys are such wonderful people! Thanks so much!

                  I'm looking forward to OWL- I think it's time...I've lost 40 pounds in 55 days and things are slowing down, which tells me that my body is getting too used to eating a smaller amount of carbs and that I need to give it a bit more. Did anyone find that moving to OWL actually gave them a jump?

                  Great job on 73 days Baarb! I'm just prowling the OWL stickies right now Emma!

                    COOL Count me in!!! I really needed something like this to motivate me on not cheating. I am finding it hard not to cheat but I promise that I will start today... (jun07) Thanks Maribelle good idea...

                        20 days cheat free for me and I am down to 239 which was very exciting !! My hubby and I will hit three weeks cheat free tomorrow and are very proud of ourselves !!
