        Good Morning-

I am upping my supplements a little more this morning. I did another 25 minutes of Tai Chi. I am hoping to feel good enough by Wed or Thursday to get back to the club. I am still tiring very easily after that flu!
Trying to get that water down earlier in the day as well.

        Have a happy day everyone.

            December 7th:
I had a pretty relaxed day. I had some stomach issues last night and felt kind of icky. I am feeling better today and have really focused on eating the right things. I did have one minor misstep, I fried up some potatoes (home made fries) for my brother and then ate a few to many, not because I got cravings but because I just wasn't paying attention. I get disstrated so easily it isn't funny. Thankfully it was just potatoes, could have been worse. I have been really thirsty today so I have been drinking up a storm. Not to sure on the numbers but it is over goal. I did 10 pushups today so I have a total of 40/100. Pretty good if you ask me. My brother cooked dinner so I had another day free of that. He made me some broccoli, cauliflower, and brussle sprouts. I will have a good "day" tomorrow . As for quality time with my boyfriend....we watched the new Robin Williams stand up when he got home from work. Nothing major but still something. I also did my beginning of week weigh in...158.5 oh how I hate this number. Why does my body love it so much. Oh well, better then a gain . We have pushed my cats vet appointment until Wednesday morning so that my boyfriend could come with me, i'm kind of a baby when it comes to my cats.

Re: Keeping our Cool: December Diet Challenge

Ok, I am new to this so please tell me if I should be doing anything different.

Goal: to lose weight. I am close to my goal weight (or what I think is my goal weight). So, I don't want to say a certain amount, I just want to see it go down. Well, honestly, during the holidays, I would probably be happy to not gain. Also want to eat on plan and stop nibbling.
Weight: not weighing myself right now.
Exercise: trying to get back to my Wii fit. I think I need to up my exercise more.
Vitamins: I just take a multi-vitamin (senior version with no iron) and just added Biotin to things.
Diet: I definitely need to get more veggies in my diet...I have been slacking. I have no problems with my water...I drink it all day long.
Taking care of me: I need to learn to deal with stress better...or let things go. Very stressful time for me. What I have done this week is put new music on my mp3 player (upbeat music to pick me up).
Reward: Hmmm...I am thinking a new charm/bead for my pandora bracelet.

Thanks...hope I got that right. I love reading everyone's information.
              Jane

Monday Dec 7 --- 2 miles on the treadmill 3.3 - 3.5 mph 4% to 8% incline. Shaved a few more seconds off my best time.

Took mom Christmas shopping today -- got a few more small "funny" gifts to have under the tree and some stocking stuffers.

We missed the snow storm today -- hopefully will miss the next one also!! Have a great week.

                    December 8th:
Oh ive had a pretty icky day today. My stomach has felt so bad that I just stayed in bed. I know I havent stuck to plan today. I had a little bread this morning trying to figure out what was hurting, and it wasnt heart burn. I then tried to eat my yogurt and fiber but half way through I found glass in it. I had accidently chipped the glass I was using. Im pretty sure I didnt swallow any. Alittle later I ate some rice, just a little because it too didnt really help any. Finally dinner came around and I had a small pork steak and a dollup of mash (cauliflower-broccoli-carrots, with butter and milk to cream). It took me a while to eat but I knew it was the best thing for my body at that moment. I then went back to bed where I still sit (well I did take a warm shower to see if that helped...nope). I have been getting enough fiber and water so I know im not stopped up or anything. We will see if it passes after tomorrows vet visit, I have a feeling I am just nervous about that. Didnt get enough sleep yesterday and I know I wont tonight. Oh well I am going to go back to playing solitaire and hoping for the best.

BTW: Sorry for the lack of apostrophes, my computer is lame.

Ohbehave..hope you feel better tomorrow. Also hope you get some sleep tonight. Take care.

I had to go to a Christmas party tonight. I was worried about what there would be to eat. I ended up doing fine. Roast pork (it was stuffed with rice which I just pushed aside), broccoli and salad. Passed on potatoes and dessert. The good thing was that I wasn't really even tempted to cheat. Glad I made it through that so well.

Waiting to see if we get hit with a winter storm tonight/tomorrow.

Re: Keeping our Cool: December Diet Challenge

Checking in -- haven't had time to read this thread!!

Weight: I would like to not gain any weight. Well, really I would like to get down to 160, but I've been stuck at 166 for the last month, so... :/

I lost 4 pounds last week! I can hardly believe it. I wonder if I will be able to shed the last 2. This was even despite TOM coming -- AF should be here in the next day or so.

Diet: I'd like to figure out what is making me stuck.

I think this was water, though I also added Biotin, and upped my ginseng to two per morning and my acetyl-l-carnitine to 3 per day (morning, noon, night).

Water: I'm going to remember to drink it! I'll shoot for 64 oz. a day -- I'll join the water challenge once I finish typing this.

I've been doing at least 64 oz. per day, though most days it's probably closer to 96.

Supplements: I will continue taking my supplements. Maybe I will even try going to a tanning salon around the corner -- I found one that has high levels of UVB to help with Vitamin D production.

Haven't made it to the tanning salon. But, I've been very good about taking my supps -- I've even been taking fiber every day.

Exercise: I want to do the elliptical every day until 12/11 and then 3x per week after that (is there an elliptical challenge?). If there is an ab challenge, I will join that, but otherwise, I'm going to shoot for 200 crunches/day. I'm going to do my inner thighs with some 10lb weights I have, and my triceps with the 20lb weights.

I have done the elliptical every day, 20-30 minutes, except this weekend I did 45 minutes both days. I think I am a bit behind on my ab challenge -- I needed to do 375 to catch up today, but I was too fatigued after 200. Maybe I will crank out another 175 after I log. I did the inner thighs once last week and the triceps once. I've been really working myself during the day (taking care of Christmas stuff, running the kids around to different things, exercising, cleaning), so I felt less than enthusiastic about more exercise.

Motivation: I will not binge on my trip to Vegas! I'll be fine on Christmas. Will not binge at wedding on NYE at fancy hotel.

We leave for Vegas Friday night.

Planning: See above. I'll bring some macadamia nuts, coconut oil, stevia and buffalo jerky along with me so I am not hungry.

I better get this taken care of tomorrow, before my family eats all the nuts and jerky. :/

taking care of me: I am going to set aside some time to knit and sew.

I started knitting a new hat. I've really been enjoying it and have been working on it every evening after the kids go to bed.

                          Your reward
If I shed 6lbs this month, I'm going to go buy an article of clothing for myself!!

                            Hi everyone,

Whatsernaem - your plan looks good to me, but make sure you do get in the veggies they really make a difference. And it's good to have a realistic goal for December.

Ohbehave - hope you feel better!

Goomama - cool a NYE wedding! At least that solves the problem of what to do on NY

                            ----

Update - I've not been exercising as I should because I feel a bit nauseous and bloated and it has totally lost it's appeal. This is not helping with the scale. Food is all fine.

                              Checking in...

I went shopping & bought 2 pairs of plain black pants (one is a bit small, these will be for later on), 2 tops for work, and 3 tops for Christmas events. It is strange shopping for clothes now...rather than looking for shirts that resemble tents, I am looking for the fitted ones that show that I have a waist. I am still fat, and still have a long way to go, but am feeling SO much better about my body! I am still not worried about cheating - I am 2 pounds away from Onederland...that is way more appealing than any food

I swear...I was shopping the other day and my exact thoughts were that I used to shop for clothes that would cover me up as much as possible and everything had to go past & cover my hips. It still amazes me (and never gets old), that I can wear clothes now that have some definition to them. Its a bit outside of my comfort zone even now but I am getting used to it.
Enjoy your new clothes, the confidence you feel and good luck with onederland! You will do great and be there before you know it.
