      but regained ~20# in '07 in less than 3 weeks! And again early '08 ...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."

              Finished Mt. Snowdon last night. I've been studying for my exam, which is tonight, so whenever I get nervous energy, I hit the stairs! LOL Starting Ben Nevis today.

              On other news, I'm giving awards at lunch today to my fellow climbers at work today! Everyone knows that it's a pot-luck, but the awards are a s-u-r-p-r-i-s-e. shhhh! I'll let you know later how it goes. With this group of cacklin' hens, it should be a great time! LOL

                  Congrats on Snowdon, Bio!!! Also, good luck with your exam.
                  As for the awards you're giving out today, that'll be so cool! Do tell, after...!

                  Jimmie and Susan... guess what? Today I made an improvised step thingy with an overturned olive crate supported underneath with a few Britannicas!! It was the right height for a regular step. I dashed off 50 flights, while watching TV (couldn't concentrate for the counting though <lol>) over and above my usual!!!! Was so pleased! Only stopped because I was a little bit worried about my still recovering knee.
                  And... that's not all... I ordered a proper step from Ebay! Watch out... there'll be no stopping me now!

                    Exactly what IS a "proper step, Sally? Can you post the picture? Is there a proper height for a step, as I've noticed some are higher than others?


                    I might have to consider such a thing, if it will fit under my coffee table in front of the TV. Last night, I was doing the staircase during commercial breaks only, and all the squeaking steps may have kept DS awake.

                      Susan, by "proper step" I just meant an "aerobic step"... as opposed to the makeshift one I put together today.

                      The one I bought on ebay is similar to this one:



                      My one can be a bit higher though as you can stack it to raise the height some. It cost €24.

                        the average rise of a step is 7 3/4 to 8 inches high. that's U.S and not sure if it's standard in all countries.


                        sal! i am so proud of you!! i think the three of us on these high climbs have gotten our second wind!!!

                        susan, i started out doing just what you stated, doing the flights during commercials. i'm glad the ankle is in better shape now!

                        bio! it's just too cool that your office climbed with you and i wish i was there to see the look on their faces when they recieved their certificates. tell they how proud we are of them! congrats on putting snowden behind you!!

                          Sounds like steps are about the same height as here then Jimmie... only difference is that here in Italy every flight is at least 19 steps. (I count individual steps and then divide by 15 though)

                              Well, the pot-luck awards ceremony was a hit! Everyone received an award and recognition of their efforts. 6 peeps finished all the buildings and are now starting on the first mountain. 4 peeps got a good job/keep up the good work award. I made a new award on fastest climber based on 8 flights of stairs at our building. So, it was a great lunch hour with my fellow hens.

                              Boonie, the hillside and cobblestone steps...I think I would trip or twist my ankle on those.

                                I'm jealous of your new step Sally that's just like the ones they have at the gym, which I can never spare any time to get to lol
                                yay Biogeek, that sounds like you had a great time at work and congrats to all those co-workers too - that's great!

                                edited: I forgot - Boonie, those stairs have me looking at them and wanting to climb! lol I've always loved those spiral staircases.
