Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

LOL I am so laughing about you sweeties, this challenge is a great thing, why didn't I ever look into this sooner ?
I am the same as you Brook, when she started saying it's ok to take a break I was like, NO WAY I ain't no taking no breaks !!!
You didn't scare me a bit Lisa, so don't worry, I am pretty ocd myself (my colleagues hate me ;-), I already felt totally bad I didn't have the info with the tapes.
Thanks Brook on the info with the dumbells, I might just do that, so I actually use them LOL now they kinda lie around gathering dust.
I also have those weights for around my ankles, I am playing with the idea that, who knows, I might do another 6 weeks after these and then do them with weights around my ankles, I will probably indeed wish to die though.
My muscles aren't that sore yet, well thinking it is only the first day after the first day....... !
I am now first going to make pictures and measurements before I hit the second workout, wish me luck !!!
Thanks for all the good advise !
This ROCKS !!! (especially thanks to Anna for posting this challenge in the main forum, else I would have never seen it, shame on me!)

Way to go Heidi and Solwit for getting it done! It gets easier, it gets easier!

Brook, I'm right there with you on slacking. Why are all of us goalies trying to drop 10 pounds? I spent a couple months kicking myself and giving myself grief for gaining it, and then I just resolved to get my butt in gear.

Brook and Solwit, you're superwomen. I'm still taking breaks on the a$$crampers. I've reached the place on the rest of it where I can basically operate on auto-pilot though, which is nice.

I'm about to go crank out #6. Hard to believe I'm already a sixth of the way there! I've already regained most of my lost flexibility and the worst of the DOMS have gone away, thank goodness. I'm amazed at the upper body strength I lost over the last few months, though. I keep thinking about when I used to think Mix it Up was my "easy" day. I'll get there again.

I am not loving this woe at the moment.........oh poor me, is hurtingggggggg, my upper legs are KILLING me !!!!
I don't even want to think of tomorrow morning yet when I have to get out of bed, boooohoooooooooo
            But I did it
I hope I can even move tomorrow to get my si6 done !
So on the 3th day you'd normally move on to RIU ?
wooooh I can't imagine at this moment, but hey, have to do what has to be done !
Thanks peeps for being around, this is so good to be able to whine about the pain and not get the 'squeeky-fart' like my husband does (he makes this peeping noise when I get up and groan and calls me a woos, huh )

Heidi- You need to take care of you. Do it!!! We're not going anywhere and we'll be here when you're feeling better.

I'm sitting here right now looking at my water bottle, my HR moniter, my DVD player and this shiver of dread just ran through me.

I'm off. When I post again it'll be because I just finished #5 of 36.

(((Heidi)) feel better quick! Won't give up on ya

Good for you, soliwit! Hope you wake up refreshed and rearing to go...and not in too much pain!

Glad it's possible to go on "auto pilot", Anna...lol..Good job getting 1/6th of the way done! Yay!!!

Go on, Brook...you know you're feel soooooooooooooooo much better when you get all done sweating

Went out in the frozen tundra of 24 degrees got in 3 miles of walking this morning. Then dragged my sorry butt to the floor to try not to passout and do the Slim and 6-pack.

I think I did one cruncher for every 2 of that woman's. ugh. Well, at least I did something instead of just laying there. lol.

Oh, and the bicycle...who the heck invented that move???? I could barely lift my legs to meet my elbows as it was.

And why does she pick on poor Greg?? The guy has obvious great abs, but for some reason I'm always seeing her pick on Greg or that other guy. Anyways...thoughs are just my wild thoughts as I sit there and grumble while I'm "happily" sweating away.

I hope no body cares that I'm calling this day #6 of the 36...it was a nice break from the squats, but at least one part of my body met the Squat **** today.

                  Happy burning fat!

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

                    Well, I'm back!

                    5/36 - DONE!

I had to gimp through some parts today that I made it through yesterday and I made it through some things today I couldn't make yesterday. LOL Go figure.

My heart rate maxed out today at 187! Holy cow. LOL But according to my moniter, I burned 469 calories. Gotta love that.

Lisa- You call it any way you see fit! Way to go on getting in the 3 miles and 6pack!

soliwit- Today is gonna hurt. Tomorrow is likely going to hurt a lot too. Take some ibuprofin, soak in the tub, drink lots and lots of water, make sure you're taking your supplements (they're more important than ever right now!) and hang in there. I know it sounds counter-intuitive to work through the pain, but trust me when I tell you that 5-10 minutes into the workout your muslces are going to feel SO much better. You really will "get stronger each day you do this". (That phrase haunts me, but it's SO true!)

                    Hurray us!

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

Heidi, no worries! Take care of yourself, and I'll see you through the end of this challenge no matter how long it takes.

Soliwit - Ditto what Brook said. It will feel better if you continue to work out, as counter-intuitive as that sounds. I find that REALLY chugging water (we're talking 2 gallons a day) helps a lot too. (But that's when you notice the wincing on the toilet...)

Lisa M. - Anyone who can run three miles and then do six pack is a hero to me.

Brook - I was amazed how many calories I burn during Slim in 6 compared to other workouts. I'm up there in the high 400s as well. In comparison, the Firm is only about 250-350, and YBB is a paltry 150! Makes you understand why this works so well.

Okay, today is a big fat REST day for me! Time to go do some vegging and maybe some stretching.

                          Ok I did it !!!!
I wouldn't allow myself to chicken out, so I actually put the RIU in the machine and worked my *** off.
I had to let go of those sitting-on-fours-and-doing-the-legs-up part, onlt for a bit though, I moaned and groaned and managed to do the rest quite well !!!
When I was done I almost cried, so proud I was of actually finishing this.
Tomorrow I probably find I have even muscles in more hidden places.
But indeed like you said Brook, it started hurting less after about 5 minutes.
So tomorrow, I am going to be here again.
Oh I saw that indeed I am retaining water at the moment, gained about 2 pounds since I started this routine.

Heidie: I really hope you feel better soon so you can join us for real!

Thanks everybody for being here !!!! WE ROCK !!

Welcome to the wonderful world of the exercises commonly known around here (dubbed by yours truly) as the "@sscrampers". Once you hit Burn It Up, you'll have a FULL understanding of why I've always called them "@sscrampers" - because your butt WILL cramp while you do them. (She adds in one more exercise to that particular portion of the routine..and goooood grief!)

I'm proud of you, soliwit, for braving RIU so fast and sticking it out! The workout is TOUGH, but man oh man, is it effective. You will notice you feel stronger and look better in as little as a week. I always notice big changes right away.

Anna- I hear you. I've kept track too and I *always* burn way more with the Si6 and Slim Series workouts. I'm really anxious for Hip Hop Abs to come out and see how it compares. The only other workouts I've ever done that compare to Si6 in the calorie burn department is Turbo Jam!

Heidi- Looking forward to you feeling better and joining the ranks!

I'll be retaking my measurements tomorrow and will do so every Saturday until this is over. Can't wait to get to my walnut cracking butt again!

Anna...I actually walk/ran the 3 miles yesterday. I'm not quite up to running past 1/2 a mile, yet...if I ran the whole 3 miles I'd be screaming hallelujah. LOL...Hope you had a great day of rest and ready to start kickin' some boo-tey!

Heidi....Hope you're feeling better this morning! You deserve a medal of honor for making those meatballs...they sounded delish!

Soliwit....Yay you! Sounds like you do better than me with leg lifts...I swear the dog laughs at me. LOL. Hang in there!

Brook...best wishes on the measurements! I'm sure you'll be seeing amazing results!

I'm geared and ready to hit RIU in just a moment...had to have breakfast with the clan this morning before DH went to work and get the laundry started.

Hope everyone has a restful and fat burning weekend!

Okay, workout number 7 is DONE. Major, major sweating today for some reason. Hope that's the calories and fat cells leaking out!

I've only done waist, thigh, and weight measurements. I really should do the others, but really what I'm hoping for is that by the end of the challenge, I'll fit back in my favorite jeans.

My signature was lying a little bit, since over the holidays my weight crept up even higher. So as of this morning, I'm back DOWN to ten pounds to lose. Progress, slow and steady.

Lisa - Good call on doing the walk/run mix. Back in May I started running and did too much too soon and hurt my knee. That was the beginning of the slow gain and lack of exercise I've been fighting over the last several months. Better to go slow and not risk the injuries.

That said, tomorrow my daughters are heading over to a friend's house, so I'm going to try to head to the gym and do some walking/jogging.
