Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

Totally didn't have the time anymore to sit down and report you all yesterday and now I am right before going off to work again: so yesterday I did 7/36, yay !!!
I even didn't need to stop anymore at the a**crampers, I reallu have trouble with the belly crunches though, somehow I can't really find a way to do it so my back won't hurt, no good, so I got to look into that.
I did slim and limber instead of the stretching of RIU, I hate that yoga (assaulted warrior LOL)

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

        Here I am again
Am I the only one now doing the vid's of torture ?
Did my round of RIU again followed by the limber ( I do that instad of the stretching in RIU).
I even had more trouble doing the belly crunches this time, maybe it is because of TOM peepping around the corner, but they just feel wrong, my back hurts too much, so I gave up on them halfway, tried to do my own sets, just cross and straight up, but it's just not doable, I don't want to end up having a backproblem because my abs have to look good, hehe.
I see what I can do about it, (I tried with a rolled up towel under the small of my back but that didn't help either) I just try again tomorrow and stop when it feels not right.
So I got #8 down, yaaaaaaaay me !!!

Hey all you Vidiots!!!! Couldn't get enough of the Pixie of Pain, so you had to start round 3!! I still curse at Debbie every morning, and she keeps smiling back at me, darn her. I'm cranking through Sin6 and the Slim Series as my main aerobics tapes. I completely gave up Charlene and those Jam workouts. I guess I have no groove!

Good luck everyone!!! Those a$$crampers are worth it!!!

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

            Hello everyone!

Well, I did RIU today, but I shut it off at the abs and stretch and did 6pack and Slim 'n Limber instead!

10/36 DONE and I feel FANTASTIC!!!!

soliwit- I have trouble with that too sometimes. My best advice is to start concentrating on keeping your lower back pressed firmly into the ground. This is going to make the ab work harder, but that's because it's going to further isolate those muscles. It will, however, protect your back MUCH better and isolating those muscles better is what we're supposed to be learning to do anyway. If you have to break more often while doing the ab work, then so be it. Abs strengthen quickly, so it won't take long at all before you're knockin' them all out!

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

The problem is not the abs, it really is my back, and I do push my back in the floor and make sure it stays there, but it still hurts, with my belly I could go forever as it seems, I am really not afraid of doing crunches, but when my back starts hurting that is not good.
I really do think though it is related to TOM.

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

Soliwit- No, I understand the problem is your back, which is why I said to triple concentrate on keeping your back (and hips) pushed flat on the floor. If you're doing that and it's not helping, then it may be prudent for you to start adding some additional lower back strengthening to your routine.

And if it's TOM (ugggggh), then woohoo! It'll go away and no worries, right?!

Biogeek! It's great to see you and hear that you're still using the Slim Series and Slim in 6 tapes. They really are the best! Want to officially join us here? There's definitely room for one more.

Today, I did RIU and SIL. Workout #12 is done. Two weeks down, 1/3 of the way there already. I'm seeing great improvement in endurance and ability (used 5 lb weights today, and 8 lbs for biceps!), and my muscle tone is much better. Just wish I was seeing more of a loss. When I'm honest with myself, I know I still have about 13 pounds to go to get back to maintenance. I think I can, I think I can. . .

Okay, I'm off to PM Heidi.

OK this is a reason not an excuse for not doing this.. I swear!!!!

...I went to take a huge pile of laundry down the stairs....somehow lost my footing (fleece socks on oak stairs go figure on that one ) ..the laundry went flying and somehow my arms got caught in the railings (one on each side) and were yanked back behind me ....hard!!!... as my left butt cheek slammed on every freaking stair down to the basement (16 of them !)

my left butt cheek ...hip .arms...hands...fingers......armpits and shoulders are killing me!!! I did not know I was so flexible my arms could go back that far on both sides at the same time...with out dislocating!

don't worry my right butt cheek is just fine ....

oh and ps thank goodness for hard drugs because I took some!

Re: Vidiots' House of Pain - Part III

Biogeek - Welcome to the crowd and congrats on Burn. I may do it tomorrow, since it's a weekend. I'm supposed to have another week of RIU, though. I'm still exercising to the computer, because the TVs are dead.

Today's a rest day for me, although it hasn't been very restful. DH is really sick, I got stuck in major traffic on my way home from work, a cop yelled at me, etc. etc.

Heidi - so sorry to hear about your fall! Hope you're doing okay. I've been a total klutz recently too. I slipped getting into the shower, and then I sprained my wrist getting a soda out of the fridge (seriously!)

                        Happy three day weekend everyone,

                        Anna

Brook: I'm sorry I misunderstood you, thought you meant I might be doing them wrong, heh, my bad.

I really think it is TOM though, somehow TOM seems worse than ever, maybe it is because of working out that it came with a vengeance, my belly is killing me.
                          Anybody else had that ?

I bit my lip and did my next workout though, followed by S&L, I did almost all crunches too, although I cheated and put my legs down for those where I should have lifted them up, that kinda helped.
Tomorrow I will go search in my workout books I got to see if I can find some good reps for getting my back stronger and add that to the series.

Heidie girl, I am so happy you didn't BREAK anything, that sounds like a nasty fall !!!
Yay for drugs indeed !! (in such a case)

welcome biogeek for joining (again I see)

Oh, Heidi!! I sure hope you feel better soon! I just winced in pain at the thought of traveling down the stairs on one butt cheek....poor thing!

Sounds like Soliwit, Anna, and Brook are doing great kicking booty...even when the computer goes down, Anna? Nice! That's what I call dedication!

Hey, Biogeek! Nice to have ya pop in. Join us!

                            Okay, here's my today's whine...

No, I haven't exercised since Tuesday. As school worked grabbed ahold of my tail and dragged me along, I developed a mild kidney infection and dehydration. Nice. My first week back to school and when I was finally ramping things up to burn fat with running my first mile, I get side swiped by health issues! ugh. Things are working better now...after a round of cranberry vitamins with lots of water.

However, today being Saturday and a 3 day weekend at that, I'm geared up and ready to go kick some booty! I'm a bit behind in my 6 weeks count, but that's okay, because I'm aiming catch up. Even bought me a little watch that records heart rate/calorie/weight, etc to keep me motivated.

                            Look out, Debbie...here I come!

Hope everyone has a great day!

This morning was a Mix it up workout. I was planning on taking a long walk outside, but mother nature decided to put ice everywhere.

Heidi--Hope your body starts healing soon! That fall sounded terrible!!

Anna--I like the Ramp workout, but Burn....ooooo, I can really feel it! The floor exercises, a$$ crampers, get me everytime!!!!

Soliwit--Thanks for the welcome! I participated in Vidiot's I & II, so why not a little more craziness with III, eh? There's all kinds of back strengthening exercises, but I mostly use the ones that were recommended to me from a physical therapist. I had to go to PT for 5 months or so, but I still do most of the exercises as part of my morning and evening routine.

Lisa--Sorry to hear about the kidney infection. Ouch! Congrats on running your first mile!! Those exercise watches are pretty cool.

                              Brook--where are you, girl?

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!!!!!

Good God, they don't call it "Burn it Up" for nothing. I heavily modified (i.e., left out 90% of) the lunges and @$$crampers and I'm still dying.

I'm still sick, and looking completely bloated and huge today, but at least I got my workout in.

Hope you're all having a great Saturday.
