Bravo, Dave! I totally agree with you. That's why I went with the sports bra. If the people on the show can show it to the world, so can I. And if/when I get the weight off, I want to show that off, too!

But... it's pretty ugly out there right now... pouring rain on top of 2 feet of yucky (yet uncharacteristic for Vancouver) snow and lots of low clouds. It's not bad to look at from way up high, but not so fun to walk in - messy and wet!! I can't complain too much though... every once in a while the clouds will lift and I see a bit of that beautiful view I can't get enough of it!

I haven't started much of an exercise routine yet. I do a fair amount of walking since I use transit to get to and from work. My biggest walk occurs at the end of the day - the commuter train drops me at the bottom of this crazy hill that I have to walk up to get home. Getting down the hill - 10-13 minutes... getting up the hill - 25-30 minutes!

So... my primary fitness goal for this challenge will be to decrease my up-hill walk time to 17-18 minutes!! I know it doesn't sound like much, but I feel it'll be a vast improvement! To help me achieve that goal I will be taking out and dusting off my Slim-in-6 videos this weekend and setting up my spare basement room into a workout zone. I may even get on that crazy Gazelle of mine!

Before I forget, Iyshiaf... do you take all of our goals, stats and pics and put them some kind of table to keep track of?
You'll cut that time down in no time-- you'll see!

I was very happy to see some huge losses this week. The diabetic guy that's on there with kids I can really relate to because I'm in the same boat. As far as the season premier goes though I have to say I was a little disappointed. I don't really know why though. I still don't know how I feel about them sending nine people home on the first night. What did the rest of you think about that?

I know what I think. It sucked! Good God, the people couldn't even enjoy their amazing weight losses. 30 pounds lost and "it wasn't enough"? Give me a friggin' break!

The first half was so great; the second half - I had all I could do not to shut off the tv. Couldn't even have one full episode before getting a bitter taste in my mouth.

NBC and the producers of the show are complete idiots.

It was different than the past. I am not sure what to think about the 9 going home. Those numbers were huge. I can not even imagine 30 pounds in one week. I teared up when he said that it took him 4 months to lose that in the past. It should be interesting, I am interested to see how next week will go.

Meant to add - Everyone have a great week this week with your food and exercise!!

                        Jan 6:

                        3 miles on treadmill
                        50 squats with weights
3 sets of 10 with 5 pound weights (arms)

I am still pretty worn out due to lack of sleep last night (3 hours). I am taking it lighter tonight.

Well, I had my 17 y/o daughter take mine. She also did the timer on the digital camera and took a pic of us together so I can compare how much weight I have lost when I take another picture with her. Believe me, I am not trying to get down to her 3 jr pants, it is just a comparison so I can visualize the weight lose better.
She also took a picture of me about 6 weeks ago, but I had gained about 10 lbs since then and it was in my undies so I won't post those....but they were gross.

I caught the last hour of the Biggest Loser...the show is a great motivator.

I was a little bit disappointed in the show for two reasons, but it was still very motivating! It seems they are giving away more and more of the show in the first few minutes. I felt like I knew most of what was going to happen by about halfway through. As someone mentioned here in a post, they couldn't really enjoy their first week weight loss because they had to stress about going home and they had some great losses. I loved, loved, loved Bob & Jillian's little speech to the viewers. It is going to be a great season!

It is nice seeing a picture where I actually have a neck!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!! Getting ready for work and thought I'd drop in and say hello. After having the night to think about the 9 going home I think it's a mixed bag. The people that are still there should be really really motivated to get their partners back. But I hate it for the ones that had to go home. Another thing that does bother me is that NBC seems to be caring more about the production value and twists and turns as of late. I know they need to make money and that it is still a television show. But it's also much more than that. It's not just another game show.

                                Good morning, Dave.

I agree; this isn't another game show. If the people are there for their health and not for the money, this had to be just devastating to them. And it was terribly hard to watch. I don't care what great twist may bring them back - this was just wrong.
