    use your pedometer to calibrate your treadmill. since you know what feels cofortable for you run that with your ped on and see if it correlates to your treadmill speed. then do your cool down at your comfortable speed and you can then figure you actual treadmill speed. You maybe aboe to reset your treadmill too. check your owners manual.

      I don't have the owners manusl I run 6 miles in 69 minutes according to my pedometer so I am thinking it's around 11 minutes per mile or so LOL. Funny how the treadmill can get sooo messed up over time iosn't it. I was reading somewhere that almost all treadmills are inaccurate LOL usually slow to actual speed Funny how that works. Oh well I wear my pedometer when I run on it cause it's soo off and I'm all right with that.

        I have a chart for the ones at the gym so they match my at home one LOL and the heart rate during recovery and workout say i have it right. the gym says i go 2.1 MPH faster then i do on mine at the house which is cool when you can power walk over 8.5 MPH on am incline of 8

          YA that sounds about right for mine I go about 1.2 MPH faster on the one at the gym LOL. Mine is slow LOL. But it's all right I can run at 7.5 MPH at home for 10 minutes WOW imagine at the gym WOOHOO. That's really givener though you must just fly girl Holly crap 8.5 my legs running wouldn't even go that fast and you walk tahn man you are burning rubber no pun intended. I am going to get a brandy new treadmill come the new year I am sooo excited.

              I'm not too sure yet have any recommendations I am taking my shoes and trying them out that's all I know. I wanna get one that has auto incline and that's all I care about so long as it goes and has an 18 inche belt I'll be rockin.

                yep power incline is good as is a padded deck. make sure about the lenght and the width and the hand rails. I just tryed them out and then got a nodictrac. I looked a t a new one last yr but the fancy bells and whistles didn't impress me much i do love the Ifit feature where you can get videos to mathc your speed and you can have trainihg runs set for you and allow the trainer to run your treadmill.

                get one that is programable too so you can teach it to learn your normal run and then you can just zone out on it and not have to pay attention and change incline and speed all the time.

                  Oh good idea, I like the idea of programming it I don't like all the extra stuff and I hate hand rails that I can slam my hands into real nice I used to ahve one with them and bruised my hands all the damn time I would rather not have one with hand rails. The decks cushioning is very important too. The IFIT thing sounds cool but I would ahve to get stuff for the puter right HMMM I'll have to check those out I think they are at sears I DUNNO.

                  Hey I have a question I am running on the treadmill for my marathon training is there gunna be a HUGE difference running outside from the treadmill> I know there is with the cusioning but is there anythign elese I should be doing to prepare my body??

                    you do have the incline up 1-2 right? their will be wind resistance when you run and roads are never level so their will be some side hill lying roads where one foot will be higher then the other so closer to your race you will need to do some real road work to get your feet ready.

                      OK so the treadmill is all right then other then getting my feet more ready. I want to the the new treadmill so that I have the option of incline that's a must I like doing hills outside cause when I get to the top it's like I have all this new energy LOL. I love it.

                      Today is running day 7 miles I will be doing it a bit later things are hecktic right now so I will have to settle for a later run which is all right so long as I get it done.

                        Ran outside today WOOHOO 7 miles went great I felt great the wind was blowing like crazy had to stop for a train and I still finished in 129 WOOHOO I am really happy with that I was worried I would be running way slower outside but, it's not too bad.
                        36 miles total for the week so far.

                          I did my 4 miles today that Makes 40 miles for this week and tomorrow is my long freakey run EEEK. 14 miles I'll do it but, I didn't say I'd love it ROFL.

                              14 miles my Body felt great no pain nothing. Until after I got severe abdominal pain so I am resting now I ate I drank everything nothing is helping and I don't know what it's from all I know is I feel really sick right now.
