I have fallen way behind both on supplements and water intake.

Going to do my best to get back on track with both starting today (as she sips her big glass of water).

Plan on having a bite to eat then taking my tons of supplements. I should rattle when I walk...LOL.

          Sweet...drink that water, girl!

I'm still on track with my supplements, but I need to re-ealuate the ones I'm taking and perhaps add something new to my regimen. I'm way stressed at the moment!

Oh, and I'm always a good girl with my water!

Juli you might want to watch for stalls with the cranberry, I took it for a UTI and it caused me to stall badly during my weightloss.

I did horribly badly during my week in London... very hit and miss; but now I'm home again, and back on the straight and narrow.

Was wondering... had a couple of migraines before I left for the UK, and they've started up again now that I'm back. Was taking a different from usual calcium powder before leaving, then stopped it in London, and started taking it again on return.
Anyone ever had issues with calcium? It's the only thing I can think of that's different from before. Have gone back to my old calcium tablet now, and the migraines are gone... think I've got to do a further test, and take the new one again to see...

Sadie--thanks for the info! I'll keep my eyes peeled. I used to take cranberry all the time, but gave it up for a while, now I'm taking it again as I've read it's OK to take for yeast-overgrowth as it actually has some anti-fungal properties.

Sally--too much calcium can cause migraines! My mother had migraines for this very reason. Something made her absorb too much calcium from her food I believe and the result was basically a debilitating migraine every week or 10 days. Bio can give you more info on this...

                    Wow that's interesting..

Sally vitamin D is one of the vits helps your body absorb calcium, perhaps the new powder had more d in it that the other?

                      interesting for sure.

i swear, when i started my calcium with D, i started getting blechy. i gained a few pounds, i'm having headaches again and my b/p is up a bit.

i had asked bio back then if calcium could cause water gain and she said it should work the opposite, if i remember right.

hmmmmmmm for the second time this morning.

Wow... thanks! That explains it then. Very good to know.

And Sadie... yes, this new one does have more vit d in it. I also take a few natural things to help calcium absorbtion.
Hmmmmm... I think I'll drop back to my old tablet then.

If your blood becomes too enriched with calcium, your body will do all it can to shed this extra calcium. When it does this, it takes magnesium out with it. It is the loss of magnesium that is believed to be the culprit behind some migraines.

I have not seen a calcium supplement in powder form. What brand is it? You could try splitting your dose across the day so that not so much calcium is dumped into your system.

ah ha!!! i knew you would have some kind of info for us.

i feel the need to take the calcium since i'm getting older and i'm seeing the amount being recommended but the headahes are not a good thing. i'll take one tablet in the morning and one at night and see how that works out for me.

                            thanks bio!

Jo--that was my worry too. I didn't take calcium until just recently (like, 10 days ago, when I started the KISS plan). I figured I'd better start because I wasn't eating any dairy. So far so good! No headaches.

                              No cheese either...
