CC "Fat Blaster" challenge!

  • I have difficulty with nuts. It's that "just one more" thing and I end up eating waaaaaay too many so I stay away from them now. Almonds are my favorite. :sadblinky

    • Punkin, Trying all those different nuts and all those different amounts of sodiums would most likely have an effect on your water weight. You didn't say how many you had at once, but just be careful.

      • Ok so I am going to mow my lawn it takes 2 hours so I think that is a pretty good workout for the day it's a big lawn and I have to use a push mower AHHH Not looking forward to it at all.

        • Most nuts are salted when you eat them be sure to drink extra water so your body flushes out the salt. I gain when I eat nuts too it's not a true gain it's water so don't worry you would have to eat 7000 calories in nuts to gain that kind of weight

            For our next weigh-in, do we want to do it bi-weekly? (Every other Saturday), what does everyone think? If so, then our next weigh day will be on Saturday, July 9th.

            Fightingthefight, I hope you have a good time on your weekend and can eat the amount you want to eat.

              I discovered today that I can do just fine staying on this eating plan unless I invite people over. We're having friends in for a cookout tomorrow and in getting things ready today - assembling a cake - I managed to pick my way through 40 carbs. So I left the kitchen and am letting my MIL take care of the rest of the prep work. I added it into my fitday tally and will try to make amends but the damage is done. This comes on top of eating too much watermelon yesterday. I am so mad at myself. It wasn't worth it.

                Don't get too mad at yourself, just remember how bad it makes you feel next time! Ask yourself if that bite of cake is worth the guilt and anger you'll feel afterwards. Good for you for getting right back up on the wagon though! Goodluck, you can do it!

                  Time for my weekly weigh in. I'm down one pound at 246. My measurements show more this time than my weight. My bust is down .25 in, my upper arm down 1 inch, my forearm .5 inch, my waist down an inch, and my calf down .5 inch. I've been on rung 3 and on 30 carbs/day. I think I will stick right here for the next week.

                  I've started some new exercises I found on the Atkins site that works on all your major muscle groups. I did them all this morning (1 set of 12 reps) and was completely worn out. I guess that counts as my exercising for today but I'm still going to try and walk on the treadmill in a little while.

                  Hope all you guys have positive reports for this week. Waiting to hear from you too. Punkin

                    Awesome job, Punkin!

                    Today the scale said 244.5, I was amazed!! It's about time, too! Today I went to Outback with my fiance, I ate legal foods (steak and brocolli) but I think I ate a little bit too much. I feel a little stuffed. Hopefully I can burn it off when I exercise.

                        I'm sure you'll be ahead of me next week! My weight fluctuates like crazy no matter what I do! I'm thinking I am going to stay off the scale until next saturday, because I just know my weight will go up again for a few days before coming back down to 244.5, like it always does when I reach a new number.

                        But a little competition is always fun, too

                          You're doing great Punkin! I wish I'd taken my measurements from the very start. It might give me a boost when the scale doesn't seem to want to move. You are inspiring me to stick with it!

                            It's a new day and I WILL NOT CHEAT! Yesterday's cheats weren't overly bad but I still suffered the consequences - being up most of the night with leg cramps. Anyone ever have a root canal? You know the toothache that preceeds it, pain and then a lull and then pain? It's as bad as that. Is it just me or does anyone else have the same thing happen???? Yes, I take vitamins - plenty of potassium.

                                Do you think it's because you cheated that you got leg cramps? I'm just curious because I'm trying to help my fiance out (he's also on atkins)..He takes vitamins (calcium, magnesium, potassium), and eats vegetables and drinks water (not sure how much though). He doesn't exercise often, not sure if that has something to do with it either?

                                He does cheat occasionally, so I am curious to know if there is a correlation!
