    Hello

    I'm still out here team.

I started my induction on the first of January. I did pretty good on days 1-3, but on days 4 and 5 I messed up. Strangly enough I still lost about 8 pounds. I have been working a lot of hours for the last several months and started my vacation on January 3. I chose the date because of my resolution, not because of my readiness. And to add a little stress to it, I am working towards quitting smoking... down to 4-5 cigs a day.

I plan to continue my induction, but I need to plan around my weakness. This morning I read some of the recommendations on this board and they are there for good reason... at least they make sense to me now. What bothers me is I didn't realize my addiction to some foods.

I'm still on the team and plan on being here for a long while. I haven't had much time to do anything this week. I haven't seen my kids very much over the holidays, because I was working.

BTW: My contact info is in my profile.

    QUESTION:

The official date for this challenge is January 11. So does that mean we weigh that day and the weight we loose from that date forward is what counts towards this challenge??? Or does it go back to January 1?

Warsaw Congratulations on the 8 lbs gone already! Your off to a fabulous start. yes it is amazing what we learn about food from this plan. Things we never knew. GLAD YouR in this with us! Getting online can be hard for all of us!

Maxibear going to curves will be great for you. I just joined ladies express because they offer child care and my youngest child is 2! I did go to curves before i had my son.....and missed it. Walking on the weekends will be wonderful for you and your son. Nothing like teaching them to be healthy young!

Pammie has a topic about the challenge in stickied to the top of this forum and you can post your questions about thisa weight lost between when you signed up and the official start date in there and se what she says. Glad you all are getting your exercise part of your Atkins going. You would not believe how many folk say I'll start exercise after I lose weight cause I'm too heavy now. I was so glad our Jo Irish Iriosh posted about all the exercise she does. Yes she is limited by her size but it is still the best she is capable of doing at this time and that is all Dr Atkins says we have to do.

Even if the pounds y'all are currently losing don't count in your totals for the team I still think y'all are doing a great job and should proceed a head with your Atkins program becausae your life doesn't wait for the contest start date and you are getting healthier and smallier right now!

Hey Team! I'm happy to report that all is well here. Induction is going great.. I'm feeling great.. have tons of energy and feel like I've made the best decision of my life to come back to Atkins.

Today I tanned, walked 2 miles, rode the bike for 20 minutes, lifted weights, drank all my water, and took my vitamin! Hopefully I'll many days as good as today was. I start back to school this week so I'm sure my schedule will get hectic again but I'm confident it will not interfere with my atkins plan.

I wanted to mention to those who are having a hard time getting any exercise in that when that happens to me.. I do some type of exercise during every commercial instead of sitting on my butt the whole time watching tv. One commercial I'll do crunches, the next one leg lifts, and then next one push ups.. then maybe use my little 5lbs weights to do something... try anything.. and at the end of 2 of your favorite shows you've done approximately 20 minutes of exercise....and that's way better than nothing. You might not necessarily get your heart rate up for an extended period.. but I bet it will help with the toning. Just a thought!

I officially booked my vacation to Florida for July 5-11!!!! (My reward for finishing the challenge!) I so have to get in bathing suit shape by then! I know with all your support and shared knowledge I will get there! Then I will figure out how to reward myself for my one year anniversary!

I appreciate all of you! Thank you for your support. God Bless!

there are several memebers of the board who have replaces the computer chair with a fitness ball and exercise while they are here too.

We can all find ways to fit more exercise into our regular day. Take the long way march in polace while you are standing doing the dishes or cooking .

sneal717 I don't know if you ever heard about it bit one of the lighteweight boxing xhamps used to have a rule in his house growing up His dad was a trainer and he said they had to do crunches the whole time they were sitting watching TV talk about super abs sets.

            Okay how is everybody doing?

I see some of you have signed up for the TDL exercise challenge

                  Hi All:

Pammie assigned me to this team. I've scanned all the posts and I'm ready to begin again. I lost 55 pounds in 2004, and my goal is to lose 38 pounds in 2005. Therefore, by July my goal is to lose 20 pounds. I hate the fact that the pounds come off some much slower now, but that's just the way it goes.

I'm also going to start some weight training. I've been walking on a regular basis, so weights are the next step.

GO TEAM 3. Now, our real goal is not to lose any newbies along the bumpy road to success!

Hey Lisa: I've been having trouble too. I think that part of the problem is that the weight is coming off so much more slowly now. I really miss those initial days of 2-3 pounds per week! I just have to keep reminding myself that it's for life and I definitely don't want to see another 6 pound gain staring back at me from the scale!

I am on my first day of Induction. It is lunch time now, and the morning has been fine. It was hard to do without my morning cup of tea (w/sugar!), but I made it. I brought things to eat, so I am prepared for a good day. I'll go for a walk tonight, and save the Curves workouts for later in the week when the expected "adjustment period" might have subsided. :joy Do I need to do anything regarding the challenge, like email stats to anyone? Please let me know. Thanks!

                            Hey TEAM!

Just poppin in to say hello. I guess tomorrow is the big day when we total our weight loss goal and submit to Pammie.

2Big, would you like us to PM you with our goal so it's easier to keep track of?

And refresh my memory.. it's the total amount of weight we want to lose.. and not just what we want to lose by July 1st.. is that right?

I'm down 11.2 pounds 10 days into induction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
