Woo hoo Dave for applying to 'the biggest loser' Hope you get in... keep us posted on your progress.

I am here Sherry I had a long haul with the flu and visitors... fell off the wagon again I am ashamed to say... *sigh*

OMG $60 a kilo for a bit o cow... sheesh that is rude... whats your address I"ll send you some !

Anyone got any tasty recipes that use eggs and tuna for breaky.... sounds gross but I need to get some fish into me. No one else in the family wants to keep me company with the fish thing so I was trying to think of a breakfast thing that used eggs and some canned tuna.... let me know if you have anything that would entice me.

        Hi Guys,

Dave - read your blog and saw the pictures, you have done an amazing job, keep up the great work and let us know how you go with the biggest loser.

Tuna and eggs, well that is what I live on here because cow and sheep are out of this world expensive. They actually ship us Aussie lamb for over AUD$30.00 per kilo!! I fry up some veggies (tomato and onion is good) in a pan, add some tuna and two eggs, presto a tuna omlety thing - tastes good.

Yes, Switzerland is a great place to live, horribly expensive though and it is full of mountains - really awesome, but it means that everything is either up or down.

Have a great day everyone down under.

yum tried your tuna thingy omelet... was mighty nice, thanks Rosecat. So, do you get homesick Rosecat... We went to Canada for 8 weeks and it was truely beautiful.. but it wasn't home. I imagine I would be worse where everyone speaks a different language. I take it that you were already able to speak the speaky over there.. if not it must have been very hard. Do you come home sometimes and is the chocolate as good as they say... ahhh so many questions so little space.

Tish - Glad you like the tuna omelty thing. Yes the chocolate is as good as they rave about, that combined with a skiing accident (knee injury put me out of action for a couple of years) was one of my problems with gaining weight. They have a law here that says the chocolate has to be made from a certain minimum percentage of cocao butter, that is why it is so good! However, with Atikins those times are past.

It takes a while to pick up the lingo here and I can understand and speak ok now. We miss Aussie, but living in the middle of Europe also has its advantages. It is only a short drive to another country!! Yep, we visit Australia nearly every year if we can.

Yes Dave, I agree with Tish, maybe you can show them a thing or two.

              Have a great day down-under!

Although I am an Aussie who is lost in Switzerland for the meantime, it's good to see other Aussies on these boards. Moving here and eating all that great food - Swiss, French, Italian and German - particulary the bread, pizza, pasta and Swiss desserts, was my downfall!!

Interestingly, there are not that many fast-food and take-away places here, and if there are, they are out of this world expensive, about AUD$ 14 for a Big Mac Meal. Oh and don't believe as "that" book states that all French women are skinny, they are also now beginning to suffering an epidemic of overweight people as the fast food chains are moving in.

Another thing is that I really miss Aussie steak, what they call steak here is well..........better left unsaid and it's about AUD$ 60.00 per kilo. If you want aged Angus beef, well I would need to take along a gold bar to pay for that.

                See you all around

                  HEY TISH!

Don't be ashamed, stuff happens, just get right back on where you left off!!

Tish theres some on the last page of my eggs thread plus you can just substitute other meats in eggs recipes with tuna. I Substituted bacon with crab meat once in a quiche lorraine recipe and it turned out quite well!

Heya Sherry.... yes there should be a betty ford clinic for chocolate me thinks. I have to admit I am starting to gag on eggs... brrr... they even make my tummy flip flop and I feel crook the rest of the day. Sad cos eggs are my main stay for breaky ... so anyone got any ideas.

I am sooooo dissapointed that the first 2 weeks and I have actually gained weight.. what is the go with that??? Pffft not to mention the mother inlaw is riding me like a horse about my weight. Yeah right, like I enjoy being overweight... what makes someone start a conversation with.... "so have you ever thought about losing weight?" Arrrrrg ....sheesh !

You should not be gaining weight!!!

What have you been eating? Is TOM due?

What about a low carb pancake or a mock danish?

                          Atkins Bake mix

                          A heads-up

Not sure about other locations, but 'The Warehouse' in Newcastle has quite a few tins of Atkins bake mix left for the very reasonable price of $2.99 each.

I'm a bit annoyed, because I snapped-up a few tins at woolies when they were down to $8.

I actually noticed them by mistake as I briskly walked through the food section on the way to the checkout.

I've only used it to make the pancakes listed on the tin so far, but I find them rather nice.

                            HI There!
Anyone out there from western australia? I live south of Perth. This is my second try at Atkins up to end of second week and really enjoying it. I'm more creative this time around with my recipies which keeps me motivated. Think I'll stay on extended induction as I have 20 kilos to lose!!! Am trying to enjoy exercise and manage 5 kilometres walking most days. I feel that i've lost inches more so than actual scale weight. Love to hear from any Aussies out there

                                Hey all,

I guess the name gives away where I am...

I think like flossie I'm going to try and be a bit more creative with my food this time, maybe actually use some of the recipes in the book etc. I don't really get tempted to do the 'occasional' cheat (touch wood). But if I could occasionally change up from eggs or bacon/eggs for brekkie, such as the low carb pancakes / danish above or even low-carb bread, that would be good.

So if people spot a good deal on 'bake-mix' in melbourne, and you don't snap it all up yourself, I think that's a great use of the Aussie board!
