When I was on a challenge with 20-something gym rats, I would feel like I had to keep up, no matter how much pain or further damage that might inflict. On here, I know I can take it at my own pace and stop if it hurts too bad. RSD pain (and all the neurological problems that come with it) is a cycle; the pain feeds off pain. Once I get a flare under control, it usually stays relatively calm until I do something dumb to set it off again. Exercising until I am in severe pain is one way to set it off. Another is to be in the cold and wind too long, so my going to the Food Pantry in the severe cold, when I was already in a lot of pain, was just too much. It's supposed to be nice this Thursday, but if it turns out cold, I won't be going out.

I'm not going to count last Monday's 80 minutes, so I will be reporting my minutes tomorrow. I will be able to walk today and probable lift weights, but not 5-pounds like I intended.

    Stay strong, Derby Girls!

    Sunny!
Sunny, that frog laughing on your one post gave me quite a giggle. I laughed so hard. You take it easy. You're like me (we Capricorns) and push ourselves even though we, mostly, know the end result might be painful.

      Goodmorning!!!

I weighed myself this morning and I am back to 204, which is what I was before I cheated. -.- But, I will be 14 days cheatfree tonight so that counts for something. Just came home from a work out, and let me tell you, I think I sweated more this time than I did the last time I did the same work out. I wonder why that is? Maybe I was just walking a bit faster than usual. I did end up doing 2.5 miles, so, wOOt on that.

I know what you mean on pushing yourself too hard. I do the same thing to myself too. Even though I'm an Aries and all. The worst thing for me is that I am impatient, something that I am working on, trust me.

Anyway, I'll catch up with y'all later. I'm grilling some nice steaks right now, can't wait til I get to eat them, yummy!!! Along with some greenbeans for now, and then for later, I'll have brocolli. Delicious.

      Muahz.

Okay, Derby Girls, I am done with my exercise for the week! 270 minutes! It's 68 degrees out, so I walked for 30 minutes. That's the best my leg has felt for almost a week. LOL If I counted all the walking I have had to do inside my house, I'd have about 1,500 minutes for the weekend! Walking uphill felt the best for some reason. Downhill hurt.

Then, I did 30 minutes of lifting weights. I wasn't the only one that gained weight from not exercising! I mixed up my 2-lb. and 5-lb. dumbbells today and I swear, the 5-pounders now weigh 25 pounds! I did 6 reps with the 2-pounders and then 6 reps with the 5-pounders and it was all I could do to finish the reps. I was up to 8 pounds before having to stop last February.

I got my supplements today that I ordered and I was very disappointed that some of them still have stuff like corn starch! The B-5 has corn starch! The B-50 mannitol and maltodextrin and the magnesium has rice powder. I checked the 'other' ingredients on each of them before ordering!

I'm craving buttered beets something awful! I've only had them once in all this time. I don't even know what made me think of them. The only ones I have are pickled beets that I canned this summer, but they have sugar and vinegar. I don't want to eat them until my weight is back down, and maybe not then--they are starchy and have a lot of natural sugar. I still don't eat carrots for that reason and the fact I was addicted to baby carrots--they were my 'junk' food.

Hope everyone is staying strong! Bekka--you're doing great! You are gonna stay on track this time and make goal. We all are!

          Sunny!

Hey Derby Girls--Jimmy_48 wants to have 40 challengers for the 20/24 exercise challenge. All you have to do is sign up and say what exercise you're gonna do, and on Wednesday the 9th, you do that exercise for 20 minutes without stopping. Just the one day (24 hours) and 20 minutes of something--we can do that. I know Sherri and I are signed up, but I didn't see any of the rest of you. She only needs about 3 more people. Are they trying to do, work you to death??? It's no fun working 12 hours per day. I know, I did it enough years--back when I lived to work.

With the weather so pretty, my spirits are sky high again. I've been working outside, triming my strawberries, getting up leaves--all the things I didn't get done because of the surgery in October. If I can make it through the rest of January and February, I'll be fine. Spring and fall are my easiest times. It's already staying light later. It's almost 5:30 here and still daylight!

                      Better go eat dinner.
