  • What veggies do you like?

    Have you tried all of those on the 'acceptable' list yet?

    There are many different ways of cooking them so take a look in the recipes forum for suggestions you might not have thought of. Many ADDB members say they have started to like their former 'yuk' veggies cooked differently.
    Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

    • :joy gmorning. hey there. I am Todd and I live in Seattle WA. I have been on Induction for 8 days and have lost 10#. I have followed ha and done well with the exception of 2 cups coffee in the am. I am not kicking my own *** for doing coffee. I have attachment to the stuff and my energy level the 1st 3 days was very low so it just wasn't time to put it down. Now that my energy is up I am ready to do it. My goal is a CLEAN 14 DAY INDUCTION after geting learned reading the board I realize how important it is to myself to Get clean from food addictions. The experience of getting clean from Wheat, Sugar and the up & down cycle of junkfood carbs is freeing and the ENERGY AND VITALITY I AM FEELING IS AWESOME! :joy
      my thanks to all your writings and expecially those who've gone on before me and I am sure through experience have seen that Clean Induction is all about getting the most out of this transforming freeing way of eating for life. So Thanks! I was wanting to call you all a bunch of atkins book thumping Natsi's while sipping my espresso :guns and thats not about you thats about me trying ONE MORE TIME to be the exception to the rule. so yeah getting clean from Coffee and Cigerettes are on my intention list. its not easy being green :help

        • I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning.....when i started induction i switched to decaff.....it is not the same but you get used to it...I went thru headaches and withdrawls from caffine....but it passes......but i still enjoy my coffee in the morning....so i drink it....Dr. Atkins says that decaff drinks are accepted....try that and welcome to the board :wave

          I believe mini goals are important due to the fact that you can actually reach them quicker...this makes me feel less frustrated!!

            I only like lettuce and pickles off the list but eating those will be more veggies then i get now i have never been a veggie eater so my ? is can i still do this and get results without eating veggies other then those ones
            any help with this would be great

              :icondance I made coffee todah again but had uno cup and I was over it. so minyawna I am going for decafe and Off of coffee for a 14 day CLEAN INDUCTION. Maybe I'll get a Whoosh! bonus. My energy level is amazing me... wow! I feel Good! who needs Cofee. I will check in and tell ya about being off the coffee with EASE and report back next week happy dancin about my Whooosh! and the fairy she rode off in.

              • NEWBIE HERE NEEDS A UK-BASED MENTOR

                Hi I am 46, weigh 305 (down from 319 last month) and just restarted Atkins yet again. Each time I did it before I didnt get past the first 3 days without cheating then I lost heart and went back to eating chocolate. Except this time I really am ready to lose and lose a lot.

                Asking for a UK mentor only because I'm having trouble with the recipes - every one I look at seems to contain things you cannot buy here. No other reason, except possibly the chance to chat on the phone and maybe even meet one day (no pressure to do so).

                The things I most need help with are: exercise issues, and cooking issues (hate cooking and it hates me)

                I've got a head start on many: I hate coffee, I don't smoke, and I love swimming. I've been trying to go swimming every morning but now I have an ear infection I'm banned till its cured.

                I'm really ready to commit myself 100% now.
                My b/f has taken my before pics! I have taken my measurements!

                I am waiting to meet my mentor!

                  I´ve been in induction for 6 days now. Lost 2 kilos ... do not know in pounds.

                  I miss rice, chips, sweet things ... but hope to go on with the diet! :yes

                    :joy Thanks so much to both of you for your support. I haven't been able to find my own thread to check if there were any replies, and what encouragement I saw when I finally found it.

                    Well, I cut out the hot dogs and pepperoni altogether about a week ago. Apparently I definitely do not drink enough water! No way have I even been getting 50oz lately. I also added about 1c of vegetables and chicken. Dropped two more pounds initially, but then after a couple of days they started to creep back on .5 at a time. I think it must be the water thing that's throwing me off - what else could it be? Also, the "belly fat" will not disappear no matter what I do. Is that usually the last to drop?

                      Well I started the Induction phase of the diet Jan 3 and fell off of it - however I am back for the long haul. I am 169lbs. and would like to get down to 125 by summer time so I can fit in my bikini. Here's the deal - I have read conflicting reviews on the Atkins Carb bar - net 2 grams. I have had 1 sometimes 2 a day - I know it is rediculous! I am more hungrey and I think phycologically looking forward to having one a day.

                      This is stopping however. This is what I need - someone that can inspire me and be a sort of mentor to guide and reaffirm me along the way.

                      Let me know if there is anyone out there that I can count on..

                          • Hi im now to this diet - only been on it 3 days but so far ive gone from 16 stone to 15 stone 8 (6 pounds) so im quite happy , seem to be living on chicken mushrooms and ham though and sald + Veg

                                Hello there all you atkins people. Today is my fisrt day and I have a confession(i don't know if this is terrible or not) I did not buy the book, I am a student and have many things to pay for and save for therefore I can't buy the book, I am going off of what I have read so far on the website. So far today I have had:

                                BR: Made scrabled eggs, but couldn't eat them(too rubbery)
                                3 medium sized pickles

                                L: A slice of ham with a little mustard for flavour
                                3 medium sized pickles

                                I am very picky and need flavour. Any suggestions would help. And if anyone can suggest a good over the counter supplement brand you can buy in canada, that would be great. I am pumped about this program and think it will be good. I need someone who knows what they are talking about who doesn't mind answering a bunch of questions.
                                Thanks and congrats to everyone who is losing weight. Being fat doesn't taste very good. :raving :conehead <---just thought the conehead was pretty funny...
