  • Re: OWLERS "Stepping Back" thread

    Greetings, Everyone

I feel like I've hardly been on the board today. Really busy and didn't budget my time right - I hate when I'm cooking my dinner at 9:00 at night. I am so full right now!

I, too, want to continue recording my daily information here for as long as everyone/anyone wants to. I know that being accountable here has prompted me to eat, when I may have skipped food otherwise... like tonight. I could have easily finished the day with crappy numbers on everything.

I have gone back and forth over whether I want to incorporate a shake into my daily menu. While I am by no means a 100% purist when it comes to Atkins, you may have noticed that I can be a bit rigid with it. I try to do everything as fresh and whole as possible. So, having a shake is really going against my nature, in a way. On the other hand, at least I can honestly say that I don't believe that having it will lead me into eating other frankenfoods. I have no desire for them. The shakes really do satisfy me without causing cravings. And even if I decide not to have one everyday, I would like to be able to fall back on one in an emergency. So, while I do feel a pang of guilt for even considering them, I am going to go ahead and have one 3 times this week. We will see if I can pull off another 2 pound loss. If not, I will put them away until Maintenance.

    Food for today:

Breakfast - Atkins Chocolate Royale Shake

    Lunch - MUP with almonds

Snack - 1 serving of sugar snap peas

Dinner - Fresh tilapia filets sauteed in butter in a skillet on the stove; 12 ounces of fresh green beans and 2 cups of mushrooms sauteed/fried together in butter and oil.

    Fitday Totals:
    1584 calories
    42 net carbs, 32 of those veggie (79g carbs - 37g fiber = 42 net carbs)
    63% Fat

Okay, so I was exhausted today...like muscles ached like they were severly fatigued... even during walk... just felt drained... so I decided maybe I need to go back to the nut rung again . I just felt like I needed vitamens or antioxidants, or something... to give me a better boost...
      so...
      here's my food diary:
      bf: cottage cheese
      snack blue berries
lunch: hb egg, califlower with cheese
      snack: macadamia nuts
dinner: califlower with cheese, spinache dip with celery, and cheeseburger (no bun)
snack: atkins cocanut bar... (these didn't ever stall me before... was eating one per day...)
      lots of water...
anyways, going to do nut rung for the rest of the week... I need my energy back...having another crazy busy week... football teams coming for dinner on Thursday and I have a lot to do to get ready for them... and after I ate the blue berry's I started feeling a little better... also had tons of water so it could've been that too. this was good 'stepping back' but I might've stepped too far back... I dunno. Did walk/run and also slim n 6 video...

        Hi, Liz

Do you connect your fatigue and tiredness from eating past the nut rung? What kinds of things are you eating that are past the nut rung besides blueberries? Blueberries do have antioxidants, if that is what you are looking for... and you said that you felt better after eating them. Just Curious...

I put fruit away until pre-Maintenance because it slowed my losses. Also, have you tested the bars this time around to make sure that they won't stall you even though they didn't last time around?

        See ya!

its not so much whether they stall you liz or if you're jumping rungs (again ) have you checked out the ingredients and checked that theyre legal on the rung you're on?

This is for SWEET and anyone else lowering the fat>>>

it you eat the minute muffins....I made one with 1 tsp of olive oil, 1 tsp water to replace the butter and i took the egg yoke out of the one egg, and it came out perfect, and more moist...i know the Olive Oil still has fat, but at least it's the good omega 3 fat, and not the bad butter fat....i haven't plugged it in fitday yet to see the fat, but i do know it lower...and the muffin is just as yummy , oh yah and i put rum flavoring in it and it tasted kind of like a rum ball w/out the alcohol....

Hey EMMA, i went one week and 3 days without going and dh said that was very dangerous...you need to be careful with that...you know you should take a stool softener everyday, it is not addicting and helps in that area, but it has to be a non-laxative one.

You could also use flax seed oil instead of the olive oil. It has a much much milder flavor than the intense flavor of olive oil and still has the omega fats too. Just a little FYI
