      I think i'd rather have the extra carb than all that fat, since the more carbs we have the less fat we should have right????? i know i'll sacrifice some in taste, but we'll have to see.. BTW mup for 2 days, no breakouts....let me find some wood to knock on...

        I like to post my whole day at one time, so it's usually late when I finally make it over here with my totals.

        So, a few of y'all are trying to lower fat, eh? I'll be watching what happens with that... as long as my protein is somewhere in the 20 percents (preferably 25 - 30%) and I am eating good carbs, I don't worry about my fat being too high. So far, so good. Who knows, though? I might have to worry about it at some point.

        Fitday is down right now, but I had entered my info earlier tonight and I remember part of it, so I will record here what I can remember.

        Brunch - MUP with almonds

        Snack - 1 serving of sugar snap peas and 140g of raw red bellpepper strips with 1 ounce of cheddar cheese.

        Dinner - Hamburger patty topped with provolone cheese/cup of mushrooms and a whole medium tomato and whole small cucumber

        Fitday Totals: (what I can remember)
        1355 calories
        39 net carbs (64g carbs - 25g fiber = 39 net carbs)
        Protein 27%

          Mitzi, Looks like you don't eat too much fat anyway, not as much as I do...i really needed to lower it, i still get some with olive oil, cream cheese and my 2 oz of cheddar, but i just tried to cut out butter and too many eggs....my fat was REALLY high....and i didn't want to give up eggs in the morn.

            Mitzi, I agree with you. I try to keep my protein between 25-30% (I have issues if I go over 30%) and my carbs about 10% and the rest is fat.

            The coffee beast has gotten its evil talons into me again. This time, no creamer or sweetner just black. I've had blood sugar swings all day, I've been hungry...and even had that feeling of the "munchies" like you did when you smoked a doobie back in the day... (ha!) Some of you may know that feeling--the kind of buzzy, crawly, hungry sensation. ACK!

            Okay, so here's what I had:
            B-fast 4 ounces raw red pepper, 200 grams jicama, 3 boiled eggs and 1 tbspn mayo
            Lunch 1 cup squash, 3 cups romaine lettuce, 1/2 cup raw broccoli, 1/2 cup raw cucumber 1 tbspn lime flavored olive oil, 6 ounces pork, 1 tbspn mayo
            Snack 2 boiled eggs
            Dinner 1 chicken leg quarter and 1 lb bag frozen collards boiled with 1 tbspn butter
            2 12 ounce cups decaf black coffee

            I think it was around 2099 calories and 42 net carbs (35 grams fiber)

              This is only for those who DID NOT CHEAT this past week and did what they were supposed to do in the moving back rungs.....here is the video i promised...go to the link below and scroll down on my "myspace" page and hit play.....it will only be on there for 3 days due to the fact that my mother would have a heart attack when she sees it, and she does visit my site...

                Well, my fat is usually higher than it "should" be. I put "should" in parenthesis because I think my fat is fine, even though I often fall short of the 30% protein we "should" have. I had been posting my fitday totals in my Journal Stats for a while before we started doing it here, and I still do it there, as well. It's easy to scroll through and see my percentages at a glance, if you are ever interested.

                There are a few things, like I mentioned earlier, that I don't eat that most other people do. Eggs is one of them. Blech... I can't stand them any other way but fried anymore and they need to be cooked by someone else... I don't like making them. I have never like boiled eggs... I used to love to dye Easter eggs when I was a kid, but I would never eat them. I eat the same cheese everyday... 2 ounces of cream cheese in my MUP (I know ) and 1 or 2 ounces of hard cheese. I only eat mayo in broccoli slaw and rarely eat salad dressing. I guess I do avoid a few high fat things... but I do fry my fresh green beans in butter and oil and sautee my tilapia and shrimp in butter... but I don't eat butter on a lot of my veggies.

                  Oh Crap, Joy!

                  I do, indeed, know that feeling from back in the day . Did having the coffee do it to you, or did feeling like that make you want the coffee? I have never been a coffee drinker, so I don't know a lot about it.

                    No, it's the coffee that made me feel like that...of course, that made me want to eat. I KNEW that coffee was a problem for me, but I let some others (not necessarily from ADBB) tell me that it wasn't the coffee, but the cream/sweetner that was the problem. So, I tried to add black coffee (decaf) back in...and man has it sent me into a tailspin!

                    So, tomorrow I'll be back on coffee detox. Nice....NOT!

                        Hi everyone...
                        back again...
                        had a really good day! Slim N 6 first thing...
                        Then had breakfast@8:45: egg salad... (about 1 egg), 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 5 blueberries... usually I just eat one thing...but thought adding more food groups to a meal might be better for me as it's more balanced... I think it helped... felt more energetic...
                        @11:00 had small piece of egg casserole... and cashews...
                        @12:00 sip of sugar free mojito... will paste explaination from other post in strudel journal:

                        "okay, here's the deal with the martini...
                        I was all set to NOT have one... but they made them specially for me sugar free!!!!
                        ARGGHHHH!!!!
                        So, I took one... well actually it was called a Mojito but had a syrup of spenda, diet 7 up, mint and tecilla... so since they were sugar free and they did it just for me... I was like ****! had to have one... but I only drank a little with the toasting and bohaing... then I lost it.... ya know...'lost' it...set it down and coundn't find it again... lol. didn't have very much I swear!!!!! "

                        okay, then... around 1:30 we got around to lunch... make your own salad... with rolls of cheese and meats... olives, and loads of veggies... very safe atkins meal...

                        Did not yield to temptation to eat dessert... actually wasn't hard. had a cup of coffee with cream and splenda...

                        ate some more veggies, red bell pepper, tomatoes, and cashews in afternoon... felt very satisfied.

                        Tonight at home, ate a little chicken breast... like 3 bites, and that's it...
                        overall am very pleased with myself as quilt days are very hard to stay legal on... but I did with the exception of a few sips of the mojito/techilla... which I mostly ditched...
                        Anyways, everyone was very surprised at my wt loss, apparently the new pants make it much more noticable... lots of support for Atkins and possibly some new members may come on board... which is way cool.
                        any who...
                        that was my day.
                        I love ya guys... you were right there with me! Thanks for your support and for this accountability! It really does help!

                            to answer your question...
                            well, I can't ... I'm confused... so I'll explain a little better my thinking....
                            I decided to go back to the rung which I was at before... the nut rung which included berries... I decided that because of my bone weary fatigue I was experiencing... not able to run as far... feeling like I was going to fall asleep...etc...
                            Then I went home and ate a few berries... no going crazy... just a few... later I had the nuts...
                            Just feel I need more balance in my diet again... I need the nuts for energy...
                            and I feel it's working...
                            I'm getting my mojo back... lol.
                            and not feeling starving and deprived any more but am staying legal... no other cheats except for sip of mojito as explained above... and am not worried about that... will do my run/walk in am plus slim n 6 plus work in afternoon...
                            I have more energy when I eat more... so I burn more.... all weekend I felt like I was going to doze off at any minute... can't live like that. and I wasn't at home... I was working 2 10 hr shifts... need to be 'on my game' if ya know what I mean...
                            I really should embrace fit day... I know... then I would know my calories etc... but so far... so good... with what I'm doing...
                            maybe after the football party on Thursday, I'll get a break and figure the darn thing out! but it's the kind of thing I need time for... and I don't have it to give right now.
                            okay? Just saying I'm back to the fruit rung... done with stepping back... however I would like to continue to post... as it's a good accountability tool... won't eat any more atkin bars til I figure those out too with reguard to the rungs...etc... I think I'm okay though... as I was eating 1 per day before and didn't have a problem... but will definately cut back... maybe only have them on the days I work... ???? don't know yet... gotta think about all this some more...

                              fitday annoys me sometimes, its just so american that i can never find what i mean, i come here and ask what you guys call it but it'd get ridiculous if i had to ask everything... its just crazy... i couldnt even find a hamburger patty last night GRRRRR

                                Hi everyone,

                                I've been laying low for a week because I went on a binge like I'd never imagined I could. But I'm back in ketosis now & fessing up. I've gone back to Induction because I'd only made it to dairy rung.

                                I just used Fitday for the past two days (and thank you Mitzi for explaining things so well - your tips made it so much easier!).

                                09/24: 2082 Calories, 69% Fat, 4% Carb, 28% Protein - 19 Net Carbs
                                09/25: 2079 Calories, 68% Fat, 4% Carb, 27% Protein - 23 Net Carbs

                                To be 100% honest, the above counts include some macadamia nuts and almonds, but those are all gone now so today will be my first super clean day of induction. The nuts were cheating - I recognize that.
