Pre-Breakfast - Atkins Chocolate Royale Shake

        Breakfast - MUP with almonds

Lunch - 1 whole, red bellpepper (150g); 1 serving sugar snap peas

        Snack - 1 whole avocado

Dinner - Went out to eat Mexican food... had ultimate fijitas (chicken, steak, shrimp, onions, bellpeppers, cheese, sour cream, guacamole)

I don't feel like trying to enter the fajitas into Fitday, but I did have totals for the rest of the day. So, these are the totals for the food prior to going out to eat tonight:

        912 calories
30 net carbs, 20 of those net veggie carbs (63g carbs - 33g fiber = 30 net carbs)
        69% Fat
        14% Carbs
        17% Protein

        plus the fajitas

          Breakfast - MUP with almonds

Lunch - Attended a baby shower, and had a few deviled eggs; a little shrimp dip (legal); a little spinach dip (legal); strawberries; pineapple.

Dinner - 2 thin-cut pork chops; 1 whole, large cucumber; 1 whole, medium tomato

Didn't have a clue about how to enter the items that I had at the baby shower into Fitday, so I'm taking the day off from using it.

              Hey All,

Mind if I join in on this officially? I have been co-chairing the Slow Losers Challenge and I think that this thread is so so helpful for folks in that category. I lost a quick 10 pounds on induction and have lost maybe another 3 or so since then (that was back in August). I have not fallen off the wagon, but I think I have lost focus, and since I have not been consistently losing weight, I have definitely lost motivation.

I would like to do a few days of re-induction and then begin a much more determined march up the rungs. Mitzi, you are a determination goddess and I have enjoyed reading your posts so much. Don and Julie, I have to say, you are both awesome, but darn you! With your male metabolism and your regular exercise respectively. (LOL) Where's Disco, by the bye? Didn't she start this thread?

Reading here has convinced me that my calories are too high for the amount of exercise I am getting (and age and gender). Cashews and boredom are the enemy. Gonna go back and read the induction stickies (book is in a box in the attic I think) and hopefully kick my own a$$ until it begins shrinking again!

              Thanks all!

Evening Snack - 1/3 cup cottage cheese with a few drops liquid Splenda and 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa (I accidentally picked up the 1% variety rather than the full fat 4% variety that I usually eat. )

                    Fitday Totals:
                    1427 calories

Today was the first time I have eaten cottage cheese since the end of August. I missed it so much when I eliminated it... thought I would enjoy it more than I did today.

                      Titian, glad to have you!

Mitzi--lucky bum, I'm drooling thinking about that cottage cheese and cocoa. Actually, I haven't had a real issue giving it up. Maybe it doesn't taste as good because it's not the full-fat version?

                      -------

                      Pre-workout snack: 1 mozzarella cheesestick

Breakfast: 1 package frozen cauliflower, 1 tbsp mayo, 1 tbsp mustard, 1 oz. cheddar

Snack: 1 bunch of celery, 2 tbsp peanut butter

Lunch: 6 oz. turkey breast, 1 small orange bell pepper, 2 cups sugar snap peas with 1/8 cup dill dip

                      Snack: 1.5 cups green beans

Dinner: 6 oz. turkey breast, 1.5 cups MUP with pecans

Yes, I'm eating 6 times today! On Tuesdays, I'm ravenous after that 5:30am aerobics class!

Emma, personally, if it were me....and believe me, I HAVE BEEN WHERE YOU ARE NOW.

                          I would:
                          1) Increase calories
                          2) Increase veggies/carbs
                          3) CUT OUT the processed food (bacon, sausage, delicatessen meats, processed foods)
                          4) Cut back on the dairy

Then, after eating this way for a few weeks (and losing!) add the dairy back to see if that was a problem. If not, you know it's the processed crap food.

I'd bet money it's the processed crapola.

The Mattesons sausage I prolly should cut out,I've only added it in the last week or so 'cos its easy to grab and take to work.... has 1.1 carbs for the whole stick, and i will generally eat a third of one as a serving... but it is all processed crap... right thats gone, deleted from my life, lol. (just looked it up and all is said was processed processed processed)

hmm... you think it could be the bacon? it has nothing at all added to it?

I only have dairy like twice a week... i make a cheesy creamy sauce whenever i eat brocolli... cut it down to less than this, ya think? or should i just cut it out completely?
I generally will eat no more than 1oz of cheese a day, i would say 4 out of seven days i have none.

I certainly know youre right on the calories, but i find it so hard to get them up when im not having dairy, how do y'all manage it? i cook everything in butter as it is, unless i eat chunks of it i dunno how to get it up more, lol.

                            Thanks for your input!

                              Emma,

Sounds like dairy isn't that big of a deal for you, then. Probably the processed meats. I've found any bacon, including Nitrate free stuff gives me problems. 2.5 lbs at minimum. Check EVERYTHING...including what you're drinking. If you're consuming ANYTHING that has even trace amounts of high fructose corn syrup--beware.

At minimum, you need to be eating 1839 calories a day. That's just to keep you going while eating, sleeping, and digesting--your BMR. I don't know what kind of exercise you're doing, but start eating at 1800 calories a day and go UP from there.

As for getting your calories up--fatty cuts of meat. Chicken with the skin. Chicken wings are very popular in the states and I just love them. Fatty cuts of pork, cooked until the fat is crispy...mmmmm, yum! Be liberal with your oils, butter, mayo and other fats. Do you ever measure stuff like that? When I really started exactly measuring out tablespoons, I was SURPRISED how much a tablespoon is.

I fry most of my veggies in olive oil and butter. Makes them super yummy. I mix mayonnaise and cilantro or mayonnaise and horseradish to make dips for my meats. I frequently use mayonnaise as a salad dressing too.
