Mitzi, glad you liked it. I always resented my parents giving the middle name "Key"!!! LOL It was rather painful at birthday parties as well!

Post church breakfast was an omelete: 3 eggs, cheese, mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, and ham along with 4 cups of coffee (decaf of course). However, now my stomach is doing flips from all that coffee!

    Just finished lunch
1 turkey sandwich: 4 oz turkey, 1.5 tbsp mayo, 1 oz swiss cheese, 2 slices low carb bread, 1 campari tomato
fruit cup with assorted melon (70 grams) and grapes (5 red)

Tonight we are gong to have shrimp scampi: 8 oz shrimp, 3 tbsp butter, 1/2 clove garlic, 1 tbsp white wine
2 cups of fresh asparagus spears

Total for the day 1693 calories, 65 net carbs, 86 grams of fat, and 147 grams of protein. 46% fat, 35% protein, and 19% carbs.

Don - is your middle name really "Key?" I ask because I actually knew somebody with that as a first name. His name was supposed to be Keith, but an error was made on the birth certificate. They decided to keep the name. And, hey... 1693 calories looks puny for someone who can eat like you!

No Mitzi, it was a joke. Haven't you ever played pin the tail on the Don-Key???

You are right about the calories today. They do seem kind of puny. I guess doing the brunch thing kind of threw me off. My protein grams are spot on as well as my carbs, but just not enough fat. However, I kind of went over on our anniversary dinner and a couple of other days so this will average out the week just about right.

In fact, I went ahead and checked the totals for the week and this is how they came out:

14252 calories for the week/avg 2036 calories per day
3780 calories burned in exercise/avg 540 per day
Estimated calorie deficit for week 6748/avg 964 calories per day
          785 fat grams/avg 112 per day (I shoot for 110)
          1020 protein grams/avg 146 per day (I shoot for 150)
454 net carbs/avg 65 net carbs per day
          50% fat/ 30% protein/ 20% carbs

Tomorrow, I go to 70 net carbs.

This thread really is great for keeping us "old timer" OWLers back on track... and sharing in the frustrations (sorry Kathy!) and successes (great job, Mitzi!) along the way. Great job everyone.

            My food today
            2 C sauteed mushrooms
            3 pieces bacon
            1 fried egg
1/2 C mixed fruit (berries, melon)
            1/2 oz. macademia nuts
            1/2 C chicken salad
            2 C cauliflower w/mustard and mayo
            1 pesto chicken sausage
            1 oz. cream cheese

Oh, and while I didn't eat as much the past couple of days, not eating enough is rarely my problem. I'm a member of Don and Julie's horse family.

I had that problem for a while, too. I so enjoy mayo, cheese, anything white and creamy (don't go there... it's just too easy), that I was having it with EVERY meal. I had this "well, I CAN eat it and I love it, so WTH not?" attitidue. Now, I sometimes eat my veggies just steamed... or eat the cucumbers with salt instead of dressing.... or the bell peppers plain. I honestly had to slip a little into a "diet" mentality... one of more moderation and making healthy choices and not always the fat-heavy one. Not saying that's your problem at all... just what I found with me.

                            Good luck.
