    Hi everyone!!

Bill - congrats!! That's so awesome. I remember when DH used to be a 58 waist and now he's at a 36-in waist and how happy he was. So I'm sure it must be a great feeling for you.

Robin - sorry about the scale, but like Elsie said, you definitely lost. You should be proud of that. I was a little bummed out myself when I weighed myself this weekend. I thought I had lost more weight, and I guess I got jealous of DH, because he lost over 10lbs. Then again, I'm glad I lost something and that I gained muscle too.

I started OWL yesterday. I struggled to get to 25 carbs. I was a little under 22g. Then I planned out my meals for today and I was well under 20g. Hmm, I need to check out the OWL board to get some ideas.

I got DH into checking for ketones. He was so excited to see that he was in moderate ketosis. Now he wants to compare our purples.

Well time to get back to work, and drinking water like a fish.

    Enjoy your Tuesday!

      Hey everybody...

Yeah the scale doesn't lie..I am seeing a definite four pound difference between the two. I originally stated on my signature that my start weight was 177 (which it was two days before my Induction date...) but I lost 2 pounds somehow between creating it and starting it--so I redid the whole thing. With the two pounds I lost prior to Induction and the weight I've lost now..I've only lost 8.5 pounds. It's really hard to see that. I really wanted to say that I had lost about 10 pounds but I will go on. It's just ...what am I doing wrong so that I've only lost 6.5 pounds in the past 3 weeks? Maybe it's because of my age..the fact that I've had 2 children...blah blah blah

I'm crying because of the scale but it's best to just move on.

I'm going to re-evaluate everything I eat from now on. I think I've been slipping up and eating things that might contain sugar (ie, salsa...which I've stopped eating). I'm going to really watch things and hopefully see a difference soon. I don't want to get myself into the next step of Atkins until I feel comfortable.

      Have a great day everyone!

Reposting this, so it'll be at the end of the list (somehow I keep posting things and they show up as a response to somebody else's post from yesterday). If somebody can tell me how to always post to the end of the thread I'd appreciate it.

Anyway my question was - is this list dying? I really hope not. I'm a reluctant poster to start with but I really felt comfortable here. And making myself post everyday is a huge help in staying on plan. I've been at a conference the last 2 days and the temptation to cheat was everywhere and almost overwhelming at times (I spent all day yesterday standing right next to a huge bowl of chocolates for pete's sake). But what prevented me from cheating was the thought that I would have to come here and tell the group I slipped up.

Elsie - you say the list is no longer interactive enough. What would make it more interactive? Maybe I'm not clear on what the intent of the list was.

              Hi Elsie,

You already know who I am. My husband is BillBazz and my daughter is CoriBazz. I promised 10 weeks ago that I would join the BuddyList. I am now able to do so as this is the last week of my classes, and can now devote ample time to supporting the group and helping myself and trying to help others in return.

Here’s a little history of my woes:
              - I’ve been battling the bulge all my life and now I have “Hypo-Thyroidism”
              - Our last and only encounter with the Atkins Diet, Bill lost 42 pounds, Cori lost 20 pounds and got discouraged by her body stalling (she put all the weight back on), and I found myself gaining it all back after only losing 15 pounds for the same reason as Cori. I gave up because it apparently wasn’t working due to our interpretation of the diet being way off base.
              - This time around Bill has been a huge inspiration not only because of his current success due to all the research and reading he did, but also due to the knowledge he’s gained from YOU and this bulletin board. He has been so motivating and inspiring to both of us that Corinne and I have found ourselves entrenched in the diet once again.
              - This is my 10th week on the diet, and I have lost 12 inches over all and 17 pounds. However, I am retaining in that my body is stubborn and holding onto water and all the food I’ve eaten for the past three days. Once again, Bill is my savior, but I find it’s too much pressure on him to keep supporting me and my breakdowns of disappointment.

In the NOW – I’m here:
              - I will not give up. I am convinced that I am at a plateau because of TOM. Bill showed me what a Whoosh was when I gained 7 pounds last Sunday and lost it all by Wednesday. Whooshies are great!
              - I feel completely different than the last time I did this diet.
              - I’m more alert and more energized
              - I am working out over an hour a day (this just started two weeks ago), as I was recovering from a fractured pelvis. Now don’t laugh, I fell out of bed and landed the wrong way on my tushie.
              - I am walking my doggie (he sorely needs the exercise too).
              - Most of my food cravings have disappeared. Thank God!
              - I haven’t had any diet coke for 10 weeks
              - I haven’t worked out in over a year, this is great!
              - I am battling a sciatic nerve problem, very painful, but I feel with another 10 pounds off my 5 foot 2 inch frame, this problem will be non-existent.
              - For the past 12 years my lowest weight was 187 pounds. I just can’t get below that milestone.
              - I started at 216 pounds, I am now 199 pounds. That’s 17 pounds in 10 weeks!

Now, that I’ve talked your ear off, I am now ready to start meeting people and could sure use the support. I know you’ve been thwarting Bill to stop abusing my babies (pets), THANKYOU!

Hey, I was doing my stretches about an hour ago and now I realize that I actually look like this smiley (completely round)

Dang...let's try this again..hopefully I make it to the end before power cuts out again..

Caramella...try to find some more carb dense foods. Stuffed Green Peppers. Squash. That sort of thing. Less lettuce. As for the pee sticks...the color doesn't matter...if it changes at all then you are getting rid of ketones...in fact...if it is a dark purple that can indicate that you are dehydrated. Just so you know...but a little competition is always good...LOL!

Robin...Don't be sad! You can always put your HW (heaviest weight) in your sig line so you can see how far you have come. And I personally would count those 2 pounds that you lost just before because you obviously were already starting to eat healthier. As far as re-evaluating your food maybe now would be a good time to use fitday if you don't. Make sure you are getting the veggies in...I know it is a pain..but it makes a difference on the scale on the weeks when I am really good about it. JMO! Hang in there you are doing great!!

Mike...don't worry!! You keep checking in and we will be here to support you. You better feel comfortable here because I, personally, think of you as a part of this list!!! You have been here for quite awhile as well and I am always happy to read of your successes!! Way to go on not giving in to the temptations lately!! I know that was a real struggle for you and I am soooo happy that you were rewarded for your hard work last week with such a big loss...I am sure that feeling helped you at the conference. You are getting stronger!!!

As far as your question on the interaction we are doing okay. The point when I started this buddy list was to find some people who were really into giving and taking with a group of people. Not just stopping by to say how they were doing but those that were willing to help each other out. Which I think that everyone here is doing. You and I are interacting right now ;^) LOL! We have had a lot of newbies each week stop and say we are what they are looking for and then never hear from them again. The rest of us, new and old, are just busy right now...it will probably pick up again after summer.

I will be here for you guys...I am not quitting...and I hope that none of you are either! Keep posting here. Extra hugs for you (((Mike)))!!!

                Britini...how are you doing????

Jackie!!! I am soooooo excited to have you join us!!! You have been an honorary member for some time now in our heads!!! First of all thank you so much for putting up with Bill...I know that can't be easy !! Second...you have the coolest family ever...the support you give one another is truly inspiring!!

17 pounds and 12 inches!!!??? Awesome!!!! And just as exciting...you are now in ONEderland!!! Good bye to the 200's FOREVER!! I hope that when you need us you will feel free to post here..that is the purpose of this thread. As wonderful as Bill is (don't tell him I said so...I will deny it!) I am sure that hearing from others will help as well. What I want know is did you fall out of bed or did HE kick you out? On purpose or while trying to grab the cat's tail? OUCH! Way to go on adding the exercise. And I am sure that puppy thanks you too!

I totally understand about the 187. Last time I got to 177 before I got lax with this WOE and started playing head games with myself. I think I was actually afraid I was going to succeed...weird huh? This time we will both make it. What is your goal?? As far as well round is a shape. Keep it up...it is really going to start to show now. Take that shape and take off 2 more inches and you got me...LOL!

Bill has been just as inspiring and helpful to us so no need of thanks! But thanks! He has put in a lot of work to be successful at this and the way you all support each other I know that this time you all will be successful at making this a life style change.

Anyhow...welcome home! Say hi to Cori...tell her I am thinking of her!!

ok...Elsie...I would love to say that Bill kicked me out of bed while attempting to cause pet pain. But, the truth of the matter is that I completely monopolize the entire bed surface of the bed and apparently have been told I kick repeatedly. LOL!

I actually didn't realize I was on the edge and was trying to get to the phone quickly in the middle of the night. Oooooops! I miscalculated my whereabouts.

Anyway, my goal is 125 pounds, but am going to celebrate mini milestones. 125 may not be realistic, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to 135.

Guess what I had for bfast? An oopsie egg sandwich. Thanks for the oopsie recipe! Are you still cooking and storing? You inspired Bill to do it, and our big cook day is Sunday. We rarely have the same meal twice within one week.

The hubby is home and it's time to shut down and have dinner with the family. I will try to get back online asap.

LOL! I get the edge by default. The dog is too heavy to move over...LOL! I hear you on the goal. I am trying to be realistic at 150 and if I can make it to there I will have no problem setting a lower goal...LOL! I need to do a batch cook...if only the company would quit coming!!! I am missing my oopsie roll. I wish Bill would come and cook for me...you lucky gal you!!! I am having the recipe below. Not induction friendly I think because there is a lot of sour cream in there. Making some chicken. Cutting up a tomato and some cucumber and no one knows that they are eating lowcarb....MMMWWWAAAAHHHHHAAAA. Am not going to be on much as company should be here soon... but will try to check in before bed.

                      1 medium head cauliflower
                      Salt and pepper to taste
                      1 cup sour cream
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
                      1 t. toasted sesame seeds

                      Preheat oven to 350.
                      Separate cauliflower into flowerets.
Cook in small amount of boiling salted water ten to twelve minutes or
                      until tender.
                      Drain.
Place half of cauliflower in 1 1/2 quart casserole.
                      Season with salt and pepper.
Spread half of sour cream, half of cheese, and half of sesame seeds
                      over cauliflower.
                      Repeat layers.
Bake 15 minutes or until cheese melts.

I hope the list is going to be here, I just discovered it! I was sad reading those lines and I was thinking that I'm a piece of it, too. I should interact more, too. Is just that sometimes, only sometimes, I don't understand 100% of what you are saying, I'm not a natural (born killer ) English speaker. But I need friends and posting on this forum things like "100 abs today" or "7km bike yesterday" are just not enough for me to make me feel inside a group.

hey buddies... just checking in before bed.

Elsie- i promise i'm not leaving, i was just joining in with the owl'ers too. i was checking out the thread a little more last night, and it seems that it's not nearly as active as this one. this will always be a main thread of support for me, so you don't have to worry about me bailing on you all.

carmella-wtg on deciding to move onto OWL. elsie's right, try eating more carb rich veggies. jicama and pumpkin are also a little higher in carbs as well.

robin-6.5 in 3 weeks is not bad at all. it's over 2 lbs a week you are losing. that's a very healthy amount to lose in that length of time. the slower the weight comes off the more likely a person is to keep it off in the long run. there's nothing wrong with re-evaluating your foods, just in case there's something in there that maybe you over did, but don't be discouraged. you are doing great.

mike-this list is still alive and kicking, just a little slow now. you really showed some determination to have resisted those chocolates you were forced to stare at all day. you've come a long way, and that's something you should be very proud of.

jackie-welcome!!!!! we've been anxiously awaiting your arrival to the group. as elsie said you've been an honorary member for quite some time now. so glad that things have settled enough for you to join us in person. bill has been a true inspiration to all of us here, and i can tell he's really proud of the success you and cori have had. you've done amazing so far with losing 17 lbs., you will be past that 187 lb mark in no time and then you'll have a new lowest weight to proclaim. please send my best wishes to cori as well.

vek-you can feel assured that this list will still remain. you are definately a part of our little group, please feel free to post anytime.

well, i'm off to get in some exercises before bed.

                            good night all,

                              Hey Bud's!!

Hope all is going well this evening! Raining here--but just rain for a change-not a raging storm. Had some weight loss today and FINALLY hit my half way point--seems like it took forever (3weeks) to move the scale
We enjoyed Grilled shrimp with Roasted Zuch's and a tossed salad for dinner tonight--Linda's cheesecake for dessert.

Corinne is doing great--UMASS and her job and all the hours at the Gym
are keeping her extremely busy--she hoped to get on-line this weekend
to share her progress--let's just say--Amazing!--Geez-to be 19 again!

Mike--Buddy! you sharing your journey--ups/downs/lows/highs--is what Elsie was hoping to create when she started the Buddy list. As we share our adventure with each other--we all respond and support and Inspire one another.
The confusion/fustration was--if you look back at the first buddy list--
That list was over 40 pages long--the second list was just as long--
when we say we lost a lot of buddy's--it's no exaggeration.--and I think
we may have thought it peaked and was fading away..
My family and I will be here! We are very busy also-but we are commited to this thread!
OH--and the little voices you heard swirling around that bowl of candy??

                                Evening all!

After many tears...I went on a shopping excursion with the kiddos and DH (who sacrificed his sleeping time) to our local grociery store. We browsed many a nutrition lable and came up with a few meats that I am able to eat--some frozen and some fresh. DH thinks the best thing for me to do is just go slow and try to realize that losing weight slowly is healthy...which I know it is. I just get so hard on myself--always been that way. But on a much happier note: Barbequed pork chop! YUMMM!

Hola to Jackibazz...a fellow New Englander! I used to live in NH Welcome to the boards!

Alright, I am heading to bed..migraine tonight :P
