[QUOTE]LOL!!! Well, that just tickled my funny bone!

ANYway, about Chapter One... It always amazes me how so many health issues can be reversed eating this way. Why in the bleeding he** more of the medical community doesn't take this more seriously, I can only think the same as others here earlier - the industries making all the Frankenfoods are losing business. (And guess what, according to something I heard the other day, they still are because more and more people are choosing to eat healthier...) On another site I hang out at (non-diet), so many who have done Atkins have had serious problems like diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, and more, turn around after low-carbing and working out. They get to the point of no longer needing expensive medicines just to get or keep things under control. All by simply eating differently!

                    Terry,

I'm probably one of the lucky ones since I live in Southern California. Most of my doctors either believe in the latest Atkins research or they follow a low carb lifestyle themselves. Most of them definitely don't believe in eating processed carbs or white sugar. I haven't found any doctors (out here) who have said this lifestyle is in any way bad for me - they've all encouraged me to stick with it because of the latest studies. I think things are changing slowly... maybe faster in Newport Beach

You know, even though the ol' gubbermint is still pushing their carb-loaded pyramid or whatever it is now, and the medical professionals are kind of stuck with that, I've found a few who have no problem with Atkins either. A few years ago, the anestheologist who was about to put me under (for gall bladder surgery) looked at my chart and said, "All right! Atkins!" I just giggled. And during my recent stays, no one even questioned it. (Too bad I couldn't stomach it...)

Well, I have to say, I'm pretty proud of myself. Did my 5-mile bike ride and a video afterwards, which I ramped up by using wrist weights. Now I'm going to get some workout on the stairs as I start tackling laundry, and also clean the kitchen. Did my abs this morning, too. Tomorrow is supposed to be my Day of Rest - might as well go all out tonight. (There's a method to my madness; all this working out may make my stomach sickly tomorrow, so I'm taking advantage of the day off just for that...)

                          Thanks, Terry and Julie!

It's been a wild week and I'm glad some weight chose to slide off! 49 gone total!

Finally got rid of teenage girls (except for mine), so it's quiet now.

I need to get my book out now, too. Also need to exercise, do abs and pushups. And make a birthday cake.

I'm looking forward to discussing the book. It helps to reinforce it to read what others get from it.

                              OK. I want in.

here are my pics and measurements.... (shield your eyes, lol)

                              waist 33

                              o... and i weigh *cough cough* 186
I think 20 pounds is a reasonable goal for 9 weeks, but my biggest goal, is to get down below 30% body fat ( I have one of those scales that measures water and fat, right now I'm at 34.5)
