Terry --- that must be it! Looks like I really wasn't paying too much attention to the show! I would stick to more eggs, personally, to make the soup more filling.

Emma --- oh my goodness! Five pounds already? That is absolutely fabulous! And your lowest weight ever? That must feel so great! Yay for you!

I think I am going to wait to measure until halfway through the challenge. So, I will measure on August 5th (since I weigh on Sundays) & then again on September 3rd.

Wow, yay Emma! That's great :]

I'm down 4 pounds, at 216. I'm hoping to get down near 200 by the time my vacation rolls around (the first week of August)...I'm going to London and Paris! I'm going to try my darndest to stick to Atkins while I'm over there... anyone have any favorite dishes that are low-carb but still representative of the culture?

Great job everyone so far on their losses!!! You guys are really setting the bar high. After reading through here a bit, I noticed that my goal is a bit on the high side, so I really have to step it up!!! ( bring out the BIG GUNS )Its along the right lines though, because I want to reach goal by my 23rd b-day on the 27th of September...I weigh in tomorrow.... so we'll see how it's coming!!

Here are the things I like about myself:

My strength- I did shotput and discus in high school, and I've always been really strong, even when I take a bit of time off. I smile to myself at the skinny girls at the gym who are struggling with the first plates and think " You may look thinner than me, but I'm stronger and my endurance is probably better" Can't wait to see results from this as the fat melts away (o and thanks to julirama for the advice about core workouts from the other thread!)

My lips: I have really shapely full lips and all my friends are jealous of them

My intellegence: I'm almost done with my masters ( WHOO HOO) Hoping to go back to school this fall with a whole new body!!!

Way to go, Jeans & Terry! We're all going to reach our goals if we keep it honest and keep on going.

Thanks so much, Julie, for starting this challenge up! I appreciate your work and caring enough for all of us to try to keep us on the straight and narrow. Together we'll do it!

Grwn, awesome! Yep, we've got some majorly high-bar-setters in this thread! But each person picked a goal that is individual to them. I get so happy when I see people dropping these pounds...I feel like I'm dropping them! I wish I were! My 10 pounds is going to be a long shot. Like, here-to-Jupiter long shot. But I'm still going to TRY!!!

I'm so glad to see another thrower! I, too threw shot and disc, and have always been built like a quarterhorse. I know what you mean about the gym. There are only a handful of women who even lift at my gym, and there have been many times when I've had to borrow the free weights from some Ah-nold wannabe, or I've even lifted heavier weights than the guys! It's an empowering feeling though.

Anyway, it's nice to "meet" you and find out a bit about you. I'm glad you've joined the challenge...let's melt those pounds away!

I feel so much love! I'm trying to weigh myself only once a day...but with all this water going right through me, I go to the bathroom a lot...and the scale is sitting right in front of me. "Weigh yourself, weigh yourself!" it says. I'm trying to refrain, and trying to weigh only once every couple days.

                              I'll re-measure next Sunday!
