Nothing in the house to make tacos with but I couldn't wait to try those shells. I just had one filled with scrambled eggs and it was great!!! The shell turned out perfect!

Waahhhhhhhh, I had some muenster cheese at the office in the fridge and thought I would try out a shell and stuff it with lettuce and salsa for a snack. Muenster really did not harden up at all... but I still ate it. It's Cheese for God's sake !!!!!

Yea, you can stuff them with just about anything. I've tried them with tuna salad and lettuce and chicken salad with lettuce, I've even broken them up an dipped them in a sourcream onion dip! Glad you liked it!

I've never tried meunster, but I did make a few from Mozarella, they hardened but not quite like the cheddar did, they were chewier and they got darker (they are the dark ones in the pic on the first page of this thread)

I used cheddar jack and it was marvelous

I bought parchment paper and microwaved for 3 minutes and it worked better. I did take pictures but I'm too tired to download them and all tonight.

Here are the pictures of how to make them in the microwave. I used colby jack cheese slices from the deli. Parchment paper is the easiest way to do it. The flat one was microwaved for 4 minutes and it was too hard to shape. The other one was microwaved for 3 minutes and it was easy to shape while warm.

The one below was microwaved for 4 minutes and it was too hard to shape.

This one below was microwaved for 3 minutes and was easy to shape while warm. (That's grease that dripped off the cheese)

They look awesome! Thanks for taking pics! The other way you can shape them if you want to use them for a bowl is to lay them over an upside down bowl while they're warm!

I've never made them with the cheese slices but that looks like the way to go if you're going to do them in the microwave! Good Job!

Imade these last night for the first time. holy hannah Im in LOVE!! I used monteray jack cheese with jalepeno for one shell and the other I used sharp cheddar. they were SO good and SO messy. lol. I cooked the Jack one longer and it was super crunchy and made a mess everywhere when I bit into it. The cheddar I didnt cook as long and itnever got super hard. I need to find the happy medium between the two but holy cow they were AWESOME. (no pics, I inhaled them)

Does anyone in the UK know which cheddar is best to use?

                                **EDIT**

I used Cathedral City Cheddar and I was well impressed that it turned out right!

I wana know what everyone stuffs them with!
