    well today was 10 mile day only accomplished 7 that's ok though at least I did it gunna have to build my long runs again GRRR., I think a lot of it had to do with a am waisted from being up with a Puking kid went to bed at midnight got up at 4am with a sick kid and have been up since so when I ran my stamina sucked.

      Ran 70 minutes walked 20 minutes was a good run and felt really good to do it after having been sick for most of the Week.

        I am back to it everyone I ahve lost some ground which really rips me But I did manage to run 10 miles today in 2 hours so I am really happy about that. I am hoping to get back on track so that I will be ready for my Halfer in May.

        It was a hard run today my body isn't used to it my feet were a bit sore and my legs started Burning OH man I tell ya my Body ahs to adapt again to it I am sure it will pretty fast as I ahve done it before.

          Girlie, you will ROCK that halfer!!! I just know it!!

          Thank you so much for the huge inspiration you are to me .. and especially today .. did your ears ring all day? They should have, because I was thinking of you for miles and miles and miles. I kept imagining you and I running all 26.2 miles together .. and kicking BUTT!!!

          My fingers are crossed that we can do it together one day!!

            That is sooo cool Betty and YA my ears were kinda ringing. I knew you would do it you are soooo awesome and you haven't yet not achieved your goals an I haven't either not gunna start now. I feel like I am lagging right now cause of the break I had to take but, I am sure my body will remember and I will get back to where I was quickly.

            I sure do hope that we can run together some day. I am slow But, I get the Job done.

              Girlie, your body will bounce back very quickly .. VERY QUICKLY!!

              As for being slow .. ahem .. I wrote the book on slow!!! But yanno, I don't care one bit about speed. I told myself that before the marathon and I still tell myself that after the marathon.

              Oh yeah, most people say "what was your time?" Like *that* is the most important part of running a marathon. Nuts to that. I say "I FINISHED" and leave it at that. Time STOPS when you run 26.2 miles, let me tell you.

              Never in my dreams did I think I'd be able to run solidly for 25 miles, no stops, nothing, but consistent movement for the better part of 5 hours .. to me, that's UNBELIEVABLE! This 50 year old body in motion for 300 minutes straight. I still cannot fathom THAT!!

              All this to say, speed is irrelevant during a marathon. Let the super jocks, the life-long track stars, those with something "to prove" race toward the finish. The rest of us will just keep plodding along, pushing through the pain to the ultimate prize: THE FINISH LINE.

                MAN I thought your Finish time was SOOO awesome Betty I was Like WOW that's increadible. If I could finish in that I would be a happy camper. I am thinking my Body would Probably take me 6 hours LOL. I would Most likely be last BUT, I don't care cause I would ahve Just finished something many would not even attempt.

                I think you Rock. I ahve to get running outdoors but, there is sooo much snow it's retarded I am not risking injuring myslef again on the snow. I am really praying for some nice weather to take the snow so I can start being sure I can run the Half outdoors. I am sure I can Just wanna be sure.

                Oh yesterday I did legs a little unconventional I did intervals of 4 minutes for each exercise 2X

                Squats,Lunges,Step ups,standing calf raises, full sit ups and crunches it took me 52 minutes but, the time went by really fast and I am feeling it today OHHH sooo sore it's all good though.

                  Oh and another thought:

                  I avoid putting pressure on myself to go faster because I am scared to death of injury....if running slower gives me another 10 or 20 years of injury-free running, then that's all that matters to me!

                  My ultimate goal is to still be out there running when I hit 80!!!! (which will be here way sooner than I think!)

                  At 50 years of age, I have NOTHING to prove to anyone but myself.

                  Running injury-free SLOWLY beats blowing out a knee and ending a running career.

                      I am doing good I am sooo bad at posting in my Running Journal BAD ME BAD. So I Shoveled my Driveway yesterday for 1.5 hours for my upper Body workout and today I ran YES I did I did FAB. I had trouble getting my HR up at all so I had to increase Speed. I was running at 5.5 MPH and my HR was 163 so that was good a week ago it was in the 180's at the same speed LOL so I am happy. My body is remebering what it's been up to so it's all good.

                          Oh thanks Betty I am waiting to get Paid and I am registered YAY. I know I will do great I don't think it'll be a time record but, so long as I finish it I will be extremely happy. Still wanna do the full though Bummer.

                            So I have been a sick Girl seems my immune system sucks right now LOL. I feel better today so I lifted weights.

                            Today was Thest and Tricep Day

                            Drop set Bench Press 7x90lbs,6x80lbs,7x70lbs,6x60lbs (no rest in Between)
                            Drop set Tricep Press 9x70lbs,7x60lbs,7x50lbs,6x40lbs (ne rest in between)
                            Dumbell Chest Flies 8x25lbs,7x25lbs,6x25lbs,6x25lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                            Tricep Extensions 12x70lbs,10x70lbs,7x70lbs,7x70lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                            Dumbell chest Press 10x20lbs,10x20lbs,8x20lbs,7x20lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                            Tricep Curls 12x15lbs,12x15lbs,10x15lbs,10x15lbs (1 minute rest between sets)

                            It was a wicked workout my body is totally quivering I love it HE HE.

                            I am planning on running tomorrow depending on how my chest feels hope it will be better. I am hacking out a lung today.

                              I did Biceps and Back today my arms are like Jello Jigglers there is just nothing left I definately fatigued then OUCH LOL.

                              Drop Set Cable Curls 10x80lbs,8x70lbs,7x60lbs,7x50lbs

                              Hammer Curls 8x25lbs,7x25lbs,7x25lbs,6x25lbs (1 minute rest Between sets)

                              I also ran tonight for 5 miles took 1 hour it was a nice easy run I like those I plan on doing the same tomorrow. I am gunna be a total Wreck hey why not it's for a good casue right LOL.

                                ran 6.2 miles in 75 minutes I am happy that I did it made me feel like I really Accomplished somehting. My legs could go for hours but, my lungs are still not 100% so I ahve to build slowly.


                                I just finished my Shoulders and ABS I don't know how much weight I can do with my abs but, it's hard to get them to go to failure even know I was doing a lot of weight on them GEEZE.

                                So this is how my workout went

                                Drop Set Shoulder Press 10x80lbs,6x70lbs,6x70lbs,5x60lbs
                                Drop Set Weighted Cable Ab Crunch 12x90lbs,10x80lbs,10x80lbs,10x80lbs
                                Upright Rows 6x90lbs,6x90lbs,6x90lbs,6x90lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                                Weighted Decline Situps 12x25lbs,10x25lbs,10x25lbs,12x25lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                                Side raises 6x25lbs,7x20lbs,7x20lbs,7x20lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
                                Side Bends 10x25lbs,10x25lbs,10x25lbs,12x25lbs(1 minute rest between sets)

                                OH nastie I can definataely feel it I am noticing a lot more definition in my abs which rocks WOOHOO and my Knees are shringing that's always good right. YAY
