    I did 11 miles today everyone I am getting my milage back upmthere WOOHOO for me it took a little over 2 hours and I am excited I did it. YAY ME

      K I did Legs YAY me I was sweating like a mad woman Holly crappers I was lifting some Pretty good Weights today YAY. It was all in all a good workout I feel great about doing it but, I still hate legs.

      This is How Leg Day went:

      Leg Press Drop Set 110lbsx8,100lbsx6,90lbsx6,80lbsx6 (no rest between sets)
      Deadlift Drop Set 120lbsx12,140lbsx10,130lbsx10,120lbsx8 (no rest between sets)
      Standing Claf Raises Drop set 140lbsx10,130lbsx10,120lbsx10,110lbsx8(no rest between sets)
      Rear Squats 100lbsx6,100lbsx6,100lbsx6,100lbsx6 (1minute rest between sets) I can't belive I used to carry this much around every day Holly cow that was heavy

        I just finished running Holly what a most excellent run I was really full of energy HMMM weird must have been the sleep I got. I did 6.05 miles in 60 minutes that's 10 minute miles all the way along Holly crap my legs are on fire but, my breathing was awesome and my legs felt good YAY me.

        K just finished my Workout my Triceps are on FIRE!! Burn Baby Burn.

        Bench Press Dropset 10x60lbs,10x50lbs,8x40lbs,8x30lbs (no rest between sets)
        Tricep Kick Backs Drop set 10x25lbs,10x20lbs,10x15lbs,10x10lbs (no rest between sets)
        Decline Dumbell Press 10x20lbs,10x20lbs,10x25lbs,10x25lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
        Seated Tricep Extentions 8x30lbs,8x30lbs,8x30lbs,8x30lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
        1 arm cable Crossovers 6x40lbs,6x30lbs,6x30lbs,6x30lbs (1 minute rest between sets)
        Tricep Press 10x60lbs,10x60lbs,10x60lbs,10x60lbs (1 minute rest between sets)

        Holly My triceps and my CHest are burning. I need to up the weights in a couple of things like Bench press OH MY!! I am gaining strength really fast here WOOHOO.

        Can't wait to see some more new Muscles.

          Sarah, when did you start running and how long did it take you to progress to 11 miles? I would love to run, but I get shin splints.

            Oh man it too me Quite a while to get up to Running 11 miles I used to run 18 but, I had to kinda start from scratch after having suffered from Shin splints as well. The first thing is to start doing exercises to strengthen your shin Muscles so that you don't get the shin splints any more. Standing calf raises are good as well as putting weighted cuffs around your foot and lifting your toe up you will feel that in your shins. It's extremely important to build up the muscle in your legs so you no longer have an imbalance in your muscles it leads to injurey if you muscles are out of ballance. Be sure to start slow I run Very slow when I do my long distances and try to keep it very east that way I am feeling good through my whole run. If you take it too fast you burm out. I try to keep my HR for long runs in the 150's no higher or I get burnt to fast. Whan I am doing a temp run like today and was trying for speed I crank it up I was very tired when I finished but, I was able to sustain the speed because I have a good Base. Where are you at right now in your running. RULE OF THUMB NEVER increase milage by more then 10% per week so if you ar running 10 miles add 1 mile on the next week and then 10% of the 11 miles so 1.1 the next week before you know it your milage is getting high any you can start adding higher incriments of miles to your runs.

            I hope this helps there is no time frame for me to run a certain distance I just wanna feel good when I do it so if it take 3,6,9, months no matter so long as you love it. I thiink it took me 9 months to get to 11 miles the first time.

              LOL SaraH! ! You asked where I am with my running? I can barely walk a mile in 25 minutes--and out of breath by the time I am finished with the mile. I have a long way to go because I am very out of shape. But one day, I do plan to be able to run again. I guess I was wondering at what point in your weight loss did you begin to run and exercise becuase you are really built.

                Oh, I have been exercising sice the second week I got hit really hard with induction flu so I was unable to exercise at the start. I work really hard and have not missed a lot of exercise other then when I found out aboiut my Anemia and I was very Ill causeght it early but, I still had to take about 6 weeks off. Other then that I have basically been a maniac. I lifted weights at fist cause at 285 I could hardly walk my feet really hut and my back as well so I did weight training 3 days a week to start then after I lost about 15 pounds I started going on the elliptical and a treadmill for 20 minutes it helped me get back my cardiovascular. When I got down to 255 I started slow Jogging I probably looked really funny but, I did intervals of walking and running it was only 2 minutes of running with 3 minutes of walking to start but, it was a start I started to lose really quickly for a while then plateaued a ton as I do LOL.

                  7.3 miles in for today it was an awesome run it felt really good to be able to run that long again and feel good the whole way through I even had to speed it up which is awesome I love days where I feel like I just can't run fast enough those are the days I love to run and I feel so energized.

                      It's on May 21st so only a little over 8 weeks WOOHOO for me it's sooo cool I think about it when I run and it gives me goose pimples LOL.

                          Yup the Halfer girl I don't think I would be ready for the full by May and this way I can take the next year to lose weight and get to full mary distances and be perpared I wouldn't wanna do it cause I really don't think I am prepared and I want it to be a good experience.

                            Great plan, Sarah. I know you will ROCK that halfer and it will be a good test of your endurance as you build up for the big banana. I thought I was so ready for the 26.2 because I had done runs of over 20 -- well, um...in a word .. not!! Don't believe anyone who tells you if you can do 20 you can do 26. The last 6.2 are really difficult. Before I tackle the WDW marathon next January, I am definitely gonna have some training runs of 23+ miles. Most training websites say not to run a 26 mile training run, but certainly close to that would be helpful. I don't know any way to adequately prepare your body for the endurance required for those last few miles!! ITS TOTALLY GRUELING, EVEN IF YOU'RE WELL CONDITIONED.

                            I guess that's why people say "if it was easy, everyone could do it."

                            It takes total MENTAL FOCUS AND DETERMINATION to get it done because you sure as heck have no physical strength left by the end.

                              I have heard that from a lot Of people that the Full is more mental then physical lol. If I can run on my treadmill for almost 4 hours of Pure Boredom lol I am sure I will ahve the focus to complete a full but, I will wait for that one. I also think that if I am closer to goal it will be a lot easier on my body to do it.

                                Definitely true .. the closer to your goal, the easier it will be to do it. Just don't buy into that myth of CARB-LOADING!!
