    It is still on the cool side here

    I ran 6 K again. Time for me to try the 10 K. I think Saturday. I am OK with some walking now and then if it is hard.
    Startdate: November 18, 2007. Female 5'2"

    May Challenges 2010
    Push-ups: 450/800
    Abs: 850/1900
    Squats: 650/1200
    Lunges: 500/1000
    Strength: 490/1200
    Running: 50/100 km

      Here its major humidity and over 39 daily! I was able to do 3 kilos -- 25 minutes today. 15 minutes running on my treadmill indoorss lol.

      23/5 i did 51 minutes total: 3 min warmup and 3 min cool down....25 min running 20 min walking and it came out to exactly 6 kilos!!!! yay!!!!.

        Wow whereami. That is amazing. I cannot run that fast.
        Oh - don't forget not to overdo it. Running can be hard. We need to build up slowly.
        I womaned up today and did my 10K. First one of the season. I ran one 10K every week last fall but none over the winter. It was fun. I did well. I was not as fast as I was last fall but I ran it all and I enjoyed it.
        Very few runners out today because there is a big race in town tomorrow and everyone is having their rest day

          Thanks liv you made me feel better. I assume that I am soooo slow and everyone is faster than me.

          My goal is to do one 10 kilo run a week...funny you say that. But of course keep little runs like 5-6 kilo every day or every other day if I can.

            That is what I do. I try to have to shorter run and one longer run each week.
            I don't worry that much about speed. I learned last spring when I started that I am not going to be a fast runner but I have endurance.
            I just read a marvelous and funny book on running by John Bingham (the penguin) called "No need for speed". I really enjoyed that one.

              I looked up "no need for speed" and ran into this cool runners website that had lots of cool articles...its called runners world. anyways i'll have to look for that book lol.

                      Thursday, 8 mile run DONE in 90 degree heat. Burned 803 calories.

                        So far I've been going between 1.5 and 2 miles outdoors, but only 3 days a week :-( I forgot how much harder on the legs it is running outside! Though I feel pretty good during the run and like i could go farther..but the next day my legs are killing me!

                        I'm going to try to add one more day next week.

                        I've also been doing EA sports active for Wii, that game makes me so sore i can't run the next day!

                          Jen, yes, definitely its more difficult and challenging to run outdoors. I think that's why I love it so much. I simply CANNOT stand the dreadmill. If that was my only choice, I'd stop running altogether (I think) ...

                            Saturday, 5/30: 10 mile run done on the trail. Wanted to go farther, but I got a late start and the heat/humidity really zapped me today. I did manage to burn 1,023 calories. 2,989 for the 4 days of running this week; 31.2 miles.

                              I had a good run yesterday - 6 kilometers putting along. I am going to try 10 tomorrow

                                Ive never tried to run outside. Im scared to do it... lol ... but the weather here doesn't permit. Yesterday it was a 114 F outside!!!!!

                                Yesterday I did 9 kilos on the treadmill in 66 minutes ....of course running and walking... it was like 40 minutes running and the rest walking. I tried to make it to 10 kilos but it was just too much on my body.

                                After about 20 minutes of running I get a knot in my front thigh closer up to where the pelvic area is and my lower back into my glutes - kinda feels like the sciatica I had once while pregnant.

                                I ve been stretching before and after and rubbing voltaren creme and taking hot baths but the pain seems to keep coming back. Any suggestions?
