          i haven't been checking in as often as i should but i've been on schedule and taking my vitamins every day. i have forgotten to post the info in my stats but i have been on track.

                  are ya'll finding any good bargains or sales on your supplements? i've checked at the dollar general again and it seems their prices are way lower on these. they had flax oil capsules, 75 count (if i remember right) for $2.00 a bottle. that seems pretty cheap to me although i have not priced them at the big named chain store.

                    On a side note...
                    I have really noticed a difference in my skin since I've started taking flax oil regularly. It seems firmer and tighter and much more attractive than it used to be!

                        juli and cincy, this is good to hear. jacks skin is so so very dry and i'm hoping that what you are experiencing will be the same with him. it's going to take longer, the condition of his hands and the work that he does dictates it will take longer but hopefully he can get some relief.

                        this might be an odd questions but has anyone poked a hole in one of the capsules and just rubbed the flax/fish oil into their hands? i use to do that with some vitamin e capsules i had.

                        i've been on top of my vitamin taking too.

                          Jimmie, I've never done that with the oil capsules per se, mainly because I have a bottle of flaxoil that we use for salads and other stuff. I have put it on particularly stubborn dry spots just to see what it does.

                          Coworkers tend to donate their unwanted vitamin E supplements to me. Most are expired and I tell them that they can cut them open to apply to their skin, but they're not usually interested in that. I like putting them on my heals and elbows in the wintertime.

                            I read somewhere that the oil that is best absorbed into the skin is evening primrose oil. Not sure what the skin benefits are but maybe worthe doing a google search on JimmieJo?

                            I take an Omega 3-6-9 suppliment, would i need a flax one as well does anyone know? I'm already taking a big handful of pills as it is LOL.

                            I've been very good at taking mine, though i went up to the cottage this weekend, brought them all with me and never took one of them. for some reason i'm really bad for that up there. only 3 days so not the end of the world. i'm back on track again.

                              Obviously, Jen hasn't read my thread about omega oils *sniffs* She would know the answer. *sniffs* Flax oil = omega 3, so if your diet contains a lot of omega 6s and most peeps do, then you need more omega 3s. For the average person, I don't recommend the Omega 3-6-9 supplement. Your case may be different....I would have to see a typical food diary to see.

                              Next week is spring break for us at the university. As such, I'm taking a week off from work, but will be home doing projects. I haven't decided if I'm going to post a "Nutrient of the week" thread next week or just take the week off. I also haven't thought of which nutrient to discuss next. Any requests?
