We've been going pretty strong with our daily multi and B complex, but I just read on the bottle today of our flaxseed oil supp. that we should be taking it 2-3 times daily! Just goes to show that you need to read all the labels carefully!

exactly right, druglord on the reading the labels. bio just answered to a post the other day about a liquid supplement. it has a couple different types of sugar included in the ingredients. it does not seem to be causing any craving with the member but again, we always have to be watching those labels.
my calcium tabs say to take 2 a day. we do one a day. i do need to go over the calcium i get duing a day to recheck and see if i'm getting what's recommended.

i forgot to give jack his stash last night. he took them this morning and i'll double him tonight then he'll be back on track. mine, i remembered.

Hey gang! I've made some changes to my supplement routine as well. Some things are the same, others flew the coup, and I'm trying a few new ones. We'll see how that goes!

druglord, i take the majority of my supplements in the morning with breakfast, but there are several that I spread throughout the day (i.e. flaxseed and fishoil supplements). Read those labels carefully! The post that Jimmie was referring to had enough sugar in it to cause the member to go out of ketosis. Yikes! When in doubt, feel free to ask!

Well...just in time I show up here - y'all are talkin bout xactackly what I was wondrin!

I - until about 2 (3?) weeks ago - always took all my supplements pretty near 1st thing every morning. However, after having exausted several of those I'd tried over the summer, I got to shopping on eBay and got a LOT of stuff, including some things I hadn't been taking (some not recently; others never before). Then I figured in between the lines, some grouping was in order, started mucking about the web for info, and as of now, am taking the bulk in the morning still, but also some at intervals during the day, and a separate batch at bedtime-ish.

Anyone - this may or may not be the best allocation; any comments on:

(roughly these are how I'm grouping)
am - multi-vitamin, extra B-types, those with metabolic stimulant potential, alertness/memory/brain boosting varieties...etc. plus pain & allergy meds if needed.

lunch & late afternoon - more those with metabolic stimulant potential, plus pain & allergy meds if needed.

pm (before at or after bedtime not really established yet) - calming herbs, antioxidant, antiageing, oils, female & sleep-related homonal support etc. plus pain & allergy meds if needed.

...in other words, I'm experimenting right now and need input.

Recent new things I'm trying include Thermogenic Thyrotabs (am & midday), yohimbe (am/midday varied), 5-HTP & melatonin (pm), & cortisol support formula, among other things.

go ahead & say it: LOL

I take Andrew Lessman suppliments for two reasons; 1) I work for his company and 2) They are all comphrensive and 100 % all natural. Did you know most hard tablet off the shelf multivitamins contain car wax?!

Anyway, I take one packet of Women's Complete Life Rx daily. On days that I take additional suppliments, I will list them accordingly.

The formula I take contains additional calcium, which the men's formula does not. I take the extra calcium in support of my skeletal system. As I may have mentioned, I had a lumbar fusion in Nov 2007. I want the extra calcium to ensure the metal hardware fuses with the bone.

With due respect (my) to lack of a sound source, I'd like to suggest that no matter how much calcium you take, metal hardware surgically implanted will never fuse with the bone. Your body will encapsulate it.

I've tried Andrew Lessman's and all Atkins' vitamins, they're not enough to help me function normally and be physically active. They are also expensive and some of them are synthetic. I've experimented many brands, expensive and inexpensive, have done my research since I changed my way of eating. I know my body and what it needs. I prefer capsules, softgels and vials. I will be seeing my endocrinologist and rheumatologist in December, and I'll check my bloodwork results with them.

Up to several years ago, I use to take 14 different kinds of arthritic medications and now down to 3. Then several months ago I was taking 3 diabetes medications down from 5, but my thyroid took a turn and I'm up to 6 and 1 of them is for my thyroid. I'm determine to get off of them with the vitamin & herbal supplement therapy that I chose for myself researching which works and what doesn't. Thanks in advance for your advice but everyone is different and reacts differently to vitamins and herbal supplements.

Your list doesn't scare me. *grins* I'm happy for you that you've found what works for you and what doesn't for your various conditions. Too bad it takes awhile to figure out the process, but I'm glad that you've been able to reduce quite a bit of your meds.
