Tashiana and I have strep. Her temp this morning was 102. I gave her some Advil, rechecked the temp around 15 minutes later and it was 102.1. What's up with that? I'm getting ready to check her again. I feel like crud but since I'm in mommy mode, I'm not allowed to feel bad.

I'll catch up with you DGs later.
Sorry you are both sick. The temp going up is just probably from a different position in her mouth. My temp can be a degree different on each side of my mouth. I've tried it with two digital thermometers at the same time and then switch. Right side is always cooler. A temperature is not a bad thing until it gets really high. Your body heats up because germs and viruses don't live as well in the warmer temperatures--they thrive in cooler temps--that's one of the reasons you get sick more often in the winter. The body is amazing with ways to heal itself, until we try to help it along with man-made remedies. Both of you drink lots of chicken broth with the chicken fat in it--that's the part that helps get over the crud.

    Sunny!

Thanks Sunny!! She's doing much better. She's eating porkchops and a biscuit with applebutter. She had oatmeal and toast earlier. She loves breakfast foods. She's playing in her room. I'm so exhausted. I tried to take a nap but the little one was ready to be up which means no sleep for mommy. LOL!!

Hi ladies, just checking in with you all. Im doing great, day 5 and feeling awesome lol.

I had to reschedule my appt with my doctor and they cant get me in till March 18th, but i might have to go before then just so i can get a refill for my blood pressure, see this is my regular doctor but he opened up his own practice, he is such a great guy but he could not take any of his patients medical records with him so he has no records of me on file yet and i will need to get my pressure meds filled in about a week. Also i have to take my daughter to the doctor in the morning, not sure what is wrong with her, she has a rash on her arm going into her underarms, also behind her knees, and also on her inner thighs, i thought maybe it was just a topical fungus so i have been putting some antifunal cream on it but its not getting better and it feels like her one gland is swollen under her arm where the rash is, so we are going in the morning, i know my health is important but i would have had to cancel my appt anyways because i got to make sure she is ok.

Well i guess i need to go and finish dinner, i cooked pork chops and i have yet to cook mine but i did my hubbys along with my kids already, and im going to make some cabbage and green beans to go with mine. Oh yeah i got some ground pork today to make me some homemade sausage, so i can make me a great scrambler in the morning. This morning i cut up a turnip and diced it like hashbrowns and cut up some onion and cooked it to go with my eggs and it was delicious, i dont know i really like turnips in the place of fries, now i tried them mashed and did not care for that recipe i made at all, maybe i need to find a new one. Ok im rambling, keep my girl in your prayers that its just a skin thingy, i dont know if i told you all that i get a lot of anxiety over health issues so i will worry myself silly. Ok i will check in later on.

How bizarre how bizarre!!! I also had pork chops, cabbage & green beans for dinner tonight! Baked my chops with some mayo on top with grated parmesan cheese.

Well I didn't have pork chops and cabbage tonight, but you all talked me into it for tomorrow. I haven't had pork chops in a while. I have been on a fried cabbage kick for weeks. That sounds good with the mayo/grated parmesan cheese on top. Does the mayo liquify? I had chili tonight and a big stir fry. It's really cold here and we have a big winter storm moving in. I'll be baking tomorrow to keep the house warm.

Sunny the mayo doesn't liquify at all. I also do this on chicken breast!

If you love cabbage you HAVE got to try this. It is the new favorite here & we have been eating it 2 times per week.

That looks absolutely disgusting, but the ingredients sound good, so I'll give it a try. I don't like messy looking food. I used to not eat casseroles because it was a bunch of foods mixed together. I've learned to eat a lot of stuff I didn't used to since starting Atkins.

Maybe my mayo liquifies because it is sugar free Duke's brand (you can only buy it in the South). I used to use it to make bread crumbs stick to chicken, but when I do it now, it just turns to oil and everything falls off.

                        Sunny!

Worry won't help. Is your daughter around cats? With the gland swollen and a rash, it sounds like when my daughter had cat scratch fever. Also, eczema sometimes presents in just those places on kids. I will say a prayer for your beautiful baby girl.

I was wondering the same thing! Not many reporting weekly exercise any more. I am really missing my exercise!

I am going to weigh tomorrow I think--if I am not really swollen. Some days the swelling is down and sometimes I get up and I look like a balloon. I'm doing really good with my eating--maybe taste-testing a bit too much of the recipes I have been making up. Most are made with nut flours, which are high calorie and spreads made with cream cheese.

I will be glad when the weather breaks and I can start getting outside more. I'm spending way too much time in the kitchen.
