    Hello Ladies!

Hi Kass, I'm here. I'm real tired tonite. I helped my DH shovel snow to get us out of here in the morning. I'm headed to the doctors finally! We're also grocery shopping. We're low on everything.
Today is day 14 cheat free days. I'm still staying disciplined on not eating in between my three meals and nothing to eat after 5 p.m. Tomorrow is my weigh day. I'll let you all know how that goes. I peeked today and was happy
Thank you Sunny for your well wishes to me as Journal Chats Hostess. When Jimmie asked me if I would like to do it. I said "Would I? I would be honored!" It truly is an honor to be part of an amazing group of people all striving for the same thing. To be healthier! I was sorry to see Silly Girl go though. She was and still is very dear to me and to so many of us here. She told me she's going to have more time for that garden that she always wanted to have now. Our Silly Girl is going to go toil with the soil.
Thank you Lashon, Kathy and Marty for your kind words. I'm headed for goal again. Once my doc puts me on the right dose tomorrow for my thyroid, there will be nothing to stop me. Hey, if I'm losing weight with a thyroid level at, what was it 8.5? Just imagine the weight melting off when I finally get balanced out. I'm headed for goal and I'll be there probably by Kasses birthday in June! That's my goal anyway. What do ya say Kass? Lets cross the finish line together Derby girl. Anyone else want to join us then Gitty Up.
Hello to Cat, Catherine, Prya, Tracey, Bekka, Dorothy. If I missed anyone here, I apologize. I have low thyroid brain fog. I know Cat knows what I'm talking about.
I'm headed to bed to get plenty of rest before I venture out tomorrow to doctors and groceries. It's been two weeks since I've left my place. It hasn't stormed like this for ten years. So much snow!
Good night Derby Sisters. You are all in my prayers. xoxo

We will surely do this by my birthday. Seeing Cat's succes is really getting me on track. We started around the same time and her dedication has really paid off. I have lost half the weight she has due to my cheats etc. She is showing us that sticking to this pays off. And of course you (Sherri) with over 100lbs lost is just as amazing. Sunny with her significant loss and the other Derby Sisters that are in the process of loosing.

I don't know how I did this the first time without a support group.

I will second that one Sherri, I wish I had a support system when I first read DANDR and tried the diet. I think I would of not given up. The sugar withdrawl was normal and being in a place like this I would of known it.

I second the Amen Kass. I needed to read this because sometimes the cheats through us off so much until it takes a while to get back to losing and in Ketosis. I am still not back in Ketosis and won't be for sure today because I had a bad eating day, which put me back to 0 days cheat free. I errored because I waited too long to eat and was so hungry until I just ate. I must confess I did not want to share this with you all or put that CHEAT FREE icon/counter back up in my sig because then I am really held accountable but that's what I need. Ok, I can feel some TOUGH LOVE coming from you dearhearts but I am ready. Give it to me.

In the midst of my bad report, I do have a praise report. I HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT GIVE UP! Usually by now for sure I would have quit and went off to trying something else. Only to find myself in the following year still obese, yes OBESE and unhealthy, BUT NOT THIS YEAR. I am sticking with this WOE, not diet and I will see the benefits THIS YEAR! Thank you all so much for the support you provide for each other. It really does help. Have a blessed and wonderful week. I am not looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow because of the cheat and TOM approaching. I am bloated already.

Kass have you done another SF (saltwater flush) lately? I may one day this week after work of course...lol

QUESTION: Can someone please share with me, what is the quickest way to get my body back in Ketosis? I was doing so good and headed that way I'm sure but I blew it today.

Ketone - your pic in your siggy says you were at Weeki Watchee in FL.

I've never known anyone else to know where Weeki Watchee is, that's cool. My entire family (on my mom's side, aunts, uncles, cousins, 2nd-cousins, etc.) all live in the Brooksville/Spring Hill area.

When my great-grandparents retired, they moved to Brooksville, then when my moms parents retired in the late 70's, my moms 2 sisters and their families moved south with them. My mom and dad couldn't leave because of my dad's work and my mom's hatred of FL heat.

I love that area and have been going to Weeki Watchee and Buccaneer Bay since I was a very young kid. TTYL

As hard as it is to come here and confess, it's the best way to get back on track if you are committed to this WOL. Everyone here is supportive and compassionate, but none of us are enablers. We give support and ideas, but we don't help you make up excuses. We don't belittle or condemn, though, because we are all in the same boat or we would never be over weight in the first place. We may give you a much-needed kick in the backside, but it is done with love. We are addicts and we will stumble sometimes, but we always get back up and try something else until we get it right.

As to your question about getting back in ketosis: Dr. Atkins said to go back to induction levels for at least 48 hours until the cravings are gone and you feel back in control.

Your new siggy picture is just gorgeous! Now hurry up and get back on the horse! We want you with us on the Oprah show when we all get to goal!

                Sunny!

As best as I can describe the Kentucky Derby is a bunch of women getting together to strive towards a common goal, and finding that we are sisters of the heart. Some need to lose a lot. Some need to lose a little. Some have lost over 100 pounds and are struggling close to goal. We support, challenge, motivate, congratulate, inspire, encourage, share ideas and give tough love when needed. We don't condemn, preach, or belittle, but we also don't enable or condone. We are mostly positive and "up", but if you are down, it's encouraged to come here and spill your guts or vent, and we will get you back "up" and over the hump. If you disappear and stay gone for a while, we will hunt you down and drag you back, kicking and screaming if necessary, but we don't let sisters go without a fight (right, Marty?).

We are the Derby Girls and we are going to try to get on Oprah after we get to goal. Right now, some of the long-time Derby Girls are in the second month of a personal exercise challenge. Most of us have health or physical problems that create problems with exercise, but we motivate each other to find some way to move your body, because exercise is non-negotiable. Most of us have found a way to considerably increase our exercise and do things we never thought possible.

You are more than welcome to join us, we'd love to have another Derby Girl sister. I am 58 and grew up the youngest of 11 children (mostly boys) and I never got to be big sister to anyone until, now and now I have all these little sisters, whom I truly love. I love their kids, too, so if you have any you gotta share!

                  Sunny!

Man, I didn't think I was going to make it. And of course I didn't take a pic as I don't have any floppy discs and somehow managed to forget them at the store today.

If you were really sorry, you would put my little Princess's picture back up for me to look at when I need a boost...

After you upload your pictures to your hard drive, don't you erase your memory card? I only have two 512MB cards and I take thousands of pictures, so I erase. If my hard drive gets too full, I store them on a portable high-speed USB flash drive. I get 2GB for about $20 on sale and that will hold up to 4800 photos. That's way cheaper than the memory cards.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Getting into Onederland kept me up for days!

Lashon--Congrats on getting right back on the wagon! I also fell off plan last night and am restarting my cheat-free as of this morning. We CAN and WILL do this!

Kass--We got a bit of rain, but nothing to write home about yesterday. I heard somewhere that we've already gotten more rain this season than all of last! Are you feeling better?

Sherri--Those losses are GREAT! Way to go on your cheat-free days too! How was your visit to the doctors? Is the new medication kicking in yet?

Sunny--I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, is she going to be alright? Hope it warms up for you soon!

Kathy--Splenda is 1 carb per packet, and we shouldn't have more than 3 servings in any one day. I admire you cutting out the diet drinks, I think that will be my mini-goal this week. With natural energy from Atkins I shouldn't need the caffeine, and I should starve out this sweet tooth!

Cat--I hope this week goes better for you! I just got single after 7 years, I think I'll enjoy it for a while before jumping back into the scene!

Thank you everyone for the compliments on my haricut--makes me blush.

Hey Marty, Tracey, Bekka, Catherine, and Glenda! How are ya'll doing??

I am back down to my siggie weight today yay! However, I cheated yesterday . New day, new resolve though! Water is very much my friend this morning, and am looking forward to exercising that cheat outta me tonight. Well, back to work now, gonna be a busy week again!

My digital camera uses a floppy disc versus a memory card (it's an older Sony model).

Ok, I know it's best not to disappear so I'm going to try to come back later. This week is starting out no better than last week. A fiasco at the bank this morning (regarding the ex husband) has got me so stressed that I can barely think straight (let alone type). I love you gals!! You're such a support for me. I'm so happy and blessed to have found each of you.

In the Florida Keys, where I lived for a couple of years, the water was 89 degrees in January. I lived on Summerland Key, 25 miles from Key West. I worked in Key West. It was too warm to be refreshing, even in the winter. I was used to swimming in my swimming pool in April in Virginia. That water was 'bracing' to say the least!
