  • Re: OWLERS "Stepping Back" thread

Sorry you lost you post Mitzi...I hate it when that happens. Sorry about your car too...what a pain in the a$$ that can be.

I use 1 oz of cream cheese in 1/2 a can of pumpkin...and my can of pumpkin is 14 oz.

I can't believe you don't eat eggs...or tuna that much, or mayo, or minute muffins...YES...WHAT DO YOU EAT GIRL?

Most of those are staples in my diet and I only eat chicken breasts...well sometimes drumettes, but mostly chicken breasts. Chicken is my favorite meat.

Oh and potty...every day for this girl...sometimes more than once...TMI?

My BMR is 1483 and when I figure out the Harris thing to go with it (which is based on how much exercise you get)...well the long and short of it is I'm supposed to be eating around 1500 calories a day to lose weight.

That being said tonight I'm having taco meat with a bit of sour cream and 5 strips of roasted red pepper for supper. That brings my calories up to over 1600 but whatever.

    Daily intake....Fat 62%...Carbs 6%...Protein 32%.

Question now is.....Is the ratio still supposed to be 65% fat, 5% carbs and 35% protein or does that change sometime while going up the rungs?

the fat amount would go down as the carb amount would go up, but your fat percentage should never go less that 50%

Drank lots and lots of water today, and 2 cups of coffee.

Mitzi, I am very similar. I don't eat eggs or tuna. I'll do a tuna salad once in a blue moon, but I'm not a fan. The only way I like eggs is deviled. Mayo isn't a huge staple for me either. And I don't eat cheese except maybe less than an ounce in salads. I've laid off the muffin in a minute too. Maybe I should pick that back up though to increase my fiber. I go daily. If I don't have my coffee I won't go. It's the lack of fiber I'm sure.

I just got back from the grocery, I bought a package of sugar snap peas. They are frozen, how do you eat them? just raw or cook them? I like the idea if they are crunchy raw.

when your on maintenance you should be at around 50% so you should be above that during OWL...

mine generally is around 56-60% and im at the top of the rungs if that helps any

I've only seen them fresh and they are usually in the cooler with the bagged salad. They are really crunchy, just like peas out of the garden but sweeter and the outside is stringless...yum...try and look for the fresh ones next time.how do you eat them? just raw or cook them? I like the idea if they are crunchy raw.

                    DAMN IT, AGAIN!

I just lost another post that I had just put of lot energy into… Grrrr I have now gone into WordPerfect to try compose another. I’m worn out, though, and I can never get back the momentum I felt in the original post.

Picture the Pumpkin Princess letting a stream of obscenities fly…

Crap, I can’t even remember what I talked about first, so I’ll go on to the next topic.

Muffin in a Minute – I ate this for the first time a couple of months ago and have only made it 3 times. The reason I avoided it for so long and only make it sparingly is because I am afraid of it. Some of you may have seen a post I made in another thread about my fear of treats. I can give the recipe for Dom’s Cheesecake to anyone who asks, but I’ve never made it. I even went to Whole Foods and got some coconut flour because I have a recipe for a chocolate cake thing that uses that, but I’ve never made it… I’ve had it for months. I made an Atkins-friendly cheesecake to bring to dinner for Easter Sunday. I had one piece there and left the rest at my mom’s. MUP and either cottage cheese or greek yogurt (which I haven’t had in almost 3 weeks) with Splenda and unsweetened cocoa are the closest things I have to treats. I just don’t trust myself not to overdo it… or I’m afraid that I’ll eat the right portion, but then start thinking about it all of the time. I don’t want to want it. For me, it is easier to never have it at all versus having a little and then to start wanting it. Having never had it, I don’t want it. For me, Muffin in a Minute falls kinda falls into the treat category. It falls into this category because it is not a vegetable. I feel guilty if I eat things that aren’t some sort of meat and veggies. I do eat 2 ounces of cream cheese and 1 or 2 ounces of hard cheese daily, and 1 ounce of natural almonds, and cinnamon and allspice have carbs (and fiber!) also. Other than these things, I feel guilty if I eat anything else. Including the Muffin in a Minute.

Having said that, I do think that the Muffin in a Minute would be a good option for you, Jen, if you don’t have mental issues with them like I do, which I don’t think you do. (hopefully none of you do!) It has good fiber. I’m going to have to go back and look at your menu entries again because I don’t remember noticing that you were lacking in veggies or anything at the time. Do I remember right that you posted that you only had 2 grams of fiber one day? How can that happen? Surely you had more. Anyway, I think the muffin would be a good thing for you.

I really, really need to eat something else tonight because I am only at about 1000 calories. But it’s 8:40 and I am full as h*ll right now and can’t imagine eating again. Ugh… I’m going to go look at my numbers again. I’ll come back and post my stuff for the day a little later.

Oh, I remembered the first thing! Jen, I've only purchased fresh sugar snap peas, so I"m not sure what to do with frozen ones. Maybe let them thaw and then eat them raw? They are very crunchy, which I love!

                      I didn't eat enough today.

Trading the HWC with the lo carb milk has really helped lower my fat intake. We'll see how it goes.

Back with today's numbers. I was a bad girl today with respect to calories and fiber. On the days that I work, things sometimes go a little screwy. And the excitement of the car battery and rides home after didn't help.

OK, when I had mentioned that I wanted to add an Atkins shake in the morning, I meant that I wanted to add it in addition to the MUP at brunch. I want the shake at about 7:00am. And when I change things, I always try to start things on a Sunday. My re-start was on a Sunday and that is still my weigh day. So I like to do things in week long blocks, starting on Sunday. Having said this, this morning was so hectic that I only had time to grab a shake or have nothing for breakfast. I did the shake. So that's why it's in here today. I also don't eat much on the days that I work at the boutique. I did at least get in 2 cups of salad veggies and 2 cups of other veggies.

Breakfast - Atkins Royale Chocolate Shake

Lunch - 1 cup jicama and 1 ounce cheddar cheese

Dinner - I sauteed fresh shrimp in garlic and butter in a pan on the stove and poured that over 2 cups of spaghetti squash along with a whole raw yellow bell bepper cut into strips on the side

                        Fitday Totals:
                        1120 calories
                        36 net carbs, 22 of those veggie (52g Carbs - 16g Fiber = 36 net carbs)
                        58% Fat
                        13% Carbs
