    Re: Buddy List June 24-29

Hey Elsie, they were in fact wired today(took them to amusement park). At the moment I let them crash for a lil bit and I get to rest. I did let them know the cool whip is all theirs, so they had some on the french toast I prepared for them this morning. Hope all is well. God Bless, Joe

      Evening Bud's

Hmmmmm--who's touching my stuff? and what the heck happened to Bozo? all right! who taped my picture to his face!!??

Hope all had a great day! Weather has been awesome here and it seems the whole cape has come alive..have a million things to do at work...So I left at noon! such a thing as spring fever in early summer..came home and uncovered the boat..getting it ready for my week off next week and the Whales are coming in..like to go play Captain Ahab!

Tommorrow- wow--really doing well on those excercises and day 5..your induction is flying by now!

Val--ahh so that's the secret to your BF's agreement to join you! your making lunch!! just kidding..He must really be enjoying and needing the new energy, as well as the extra pounds dropped, on the job description you posted earlier! and congrads on fitting into old clothes again..soon you may need a new wardrobe! discuss it with BF before handing him his lunch.

Elsie--is the family sharing in all the food you cook? other than a quiche I made and BBQ I smoke..they won't touch it..My daughter (while eating KFC) say's EWWW how can you eat that crap! Lucky for her I have a lot of patience and only stuffed her head in the bucket! no--no--just kid!
I do try to go into the facts about what she is eating..but get out only a word or 2 before the eye's roll and she disappears.

Hmmm, Bill, sounds like a good plan for the new wardrobe, holding his lunch hostage, lol! I make his lunch anyway, he is the only one working right now, school is new for me, before that I stayed home for the winter to keep the baby (a preemie) out of daycare so he wouldn't get sick. So I just feel like it is the least I can do to support him, its just more of a challenge now while I learn this new WOE. But I really don't mind it.

Tomorrow! Sounds like you are doing pilates!! That is what I am going to do, it is fairly easy, and I know I can do most of the exercises, they make you feel so good too, much stronger! You go Girl!!

I did good grocery shopping, lotsa frozen veggies like broccoli and cauliflower. Found some ham, summer sausage, turkey brats, and such with no sugar. Also found low carb ketchup, finally! Hehe, then I came across some stuff that looks really good, so I got it for the kids, like orange floats in a bottle, like root beer floats, holy crap!! 64 carbs!! And some cookie crisp, but they hardly ever get junk, and its summer, and I have no problem not eating it. Bf, however has been hovering around the treats, threatening to eat them, I may have to hide them!! The guy used to take 2 Mt Dews and at least one candy bar to work! He is doing really well, plus no caffeine! I betcha he drops 15 on weigh in day.

Making chicken on the grill with alfredo sauce and snap pea stir fry veggies, gotta go finish it up!! TTYL

          Joee....lucky kids!!

Bill....I don't know who touched your stuff (pointing sneakily to Tomorrow so I don't get in trouble)! The kids eat some of my stuff. Not a lot. But if I am into cooking a legal supper that day instead of pulling something out of the freezer then I serve it for supper. So they ate the Sloppy Joe Pie. Mostly I try to feed them a bit healthier than other kids...so whole wheat spaghetti...which they prefer. Whole wheat or multi grain breads with crust on. Fruits. They are 10 & 11 and are just getting over being picky. Lots of chicken. I switched from granola bars..I think they are just glorified chocolate bars...to rice cakes for school. No juice. Very seldom pop. Not to say they never get junk. Pancakes on the weekend...that sort of thing. Overall I just talk to them about making healthy choices for their bodies.

          Val...Dinner sounds YUMMO!

            Re: Buddy List June 24-29

hey ya'll!! how's everyone doing tonight? i'm doing well, looking forward to the weekend, supplies are getting low and need to wait for payday to stock up fridge. luckily i have enough to last till saturday, but don't like the feeling of getting low on food.

i am having trouble getting my carbs up to 25 net carbs. i have really tried, but with my appetite being so suppressed, it's really hard to do. when i stock up over the weekend i am gonna make sure i get plenty of veggies that are higher in carb counts. i wish i could eat tomatoes, but am scared to buy them in stores, and my mom's haven't started coming on in her garden yet. atleast not producing edible ones yet. gonna snag some green tomatoes very soon though and use my flax meal for fried green tomatoes.

i made a pretty cool little dessert snack tonight with my pumpkin. 3 T pumpkin, 2 ozs cream cheese, 1.5 tsp splenda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and tsp flax meal. i softened the cream cheese a bit, then added the other ingredients. mix well and microwaved about 12 seconds. it's really good not something i'll make often though could be very easy to over indulge. i think though the next time i do make it, i might put it in mini muffin tins, and freeze them. then i could only allow myself one at a time and keep portion control easier. it reminded me alot of what a pumpkin cheese cake tastes like.

tomorrow is gonna be a big test for me. they are having our company picnic at work. we are shutting down early and gonna have alot of festivities going on. the food will be somewhat atkins friendly as they are gonna grill out burgers, hotdogs and have all the fixings. the desserts and beans and coleslaw and things like that will also be on hand though. i know i have the will power to not eat those things, but the temptation will still be there. i think i might sneak my oopsie rolls in for my burger, and hotdog. hopefully no one will notice and if they do, i'll just tell them i can't have the bread, and that they are a homemade substitute. there are a few people there who have either been on atkins, or atleast know i am back on again, so if i hang around them, i shouldn't get any hassels. i read a thread today about someone having to face naysayers of this wol at work, and it made me want to avoid that for myself tomorrow. want to have a good time and not worry about someone downing my choice to a healthier lifestyle.

well there's my ramble for the night.....lol.....heheheh
            take care,
            monie

Yes, I get up at 4:00 and go to bed at 11:00 =(
              I sleep all weekend! =D
I have two jobs, so.. ya. And my 4 year old son stays with me all day (I work from home) When he starts kindergarten, I am sure my work day will shorten substantially because I won't have to stop every 14 seconds to get something for him.

I actually took a break today and took the kids to a waterslide park. I swam ALOT. It was fun. Hopefully that counts as exerise =D

Elsie, yes, Dinner was super good! And just finished making a salad for tomorrow's lunches, I am POSTING it too! ;P It is from Linda's site, really good, although I would think half the sweetener would be ok.

                BROCCOLI CRUNCH SALAD
1 medium fresh broccoli, chopped, about 1 pound *
                1/2 pound bacon
                4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
                1 cup mayonnaise
                2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda *
Chop and fry the bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels. Blend the mayonnaise, vinegar and Splenda; combine all of the ingredients and chill before serving.
                Makes about 6-8 servings
                Do not freeze
                * You can substitute a 16 ounce bag of thawed and drained frozen broccoli florets. The carb savings are negligible with liquid Splenda. Per 1/6 Recipe: 581 Calories; 54g Fat; 19g Protein; 6g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 4g Net Carbs

Monie, don't forget your low carb ketchup!! I wouldn't worry about what others think, it is up to you what goes into your body, I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Andrea, wow, your schedule is crazier than mine!! I hope things settle down for you soon! Good job making healthy choices while under that much stress! Its a lot of work, I know!

**Waves to other buddies, hopes all is well. Goodnite!!!

Tomorrow...was watching X-weighted and low and behold there they were doing the plank exersice!

Monie...I read that post. I find it quite strange that someone can be lecturing someone on how to eat healthy while they are eating cookies. If someone questions you just say you are are working closely with a Doctor and have to stay away from refined sugars and carbs right now...Doctors orders....they don't have to know it is Dr Atkins.

Splandrea...waterpark sounds like fun. Yes it counts as exercise if you were doing all those stairs!

Val...wow...that sounds very close to the one I made up the other day and put in my recipe thread. I used 4 cups broccoli and only 1/2 T splenda. Anyway...does this mean I can have sweetner tomorrow??

Alright buddies...calling in to say good night early tonight. Talk to you tomorrow.

Val - I don't know. I don't think I could handle a 9 month-old. I might lose it. I just got him to stop wetting the bed at night and I feel very triumphant. If I were changing diapers, I would probably scream.. and taking classes - YA RIGHT! I dropped out of college. College is for smart people with patience and determination! LOL.

Elsie, yeah, why not, go for the brococoli salad, it sure looked good!! Ok ok, I had a taste, so I guess I ruined my no sweetener day, oh well, other than that, I did good!! I am still hanging onto some water wt, normally, today would be my weigh day, but i will wait till tomorrow to weigh in with bf since he started a day after me anyway. My rings are still tight, and I am up 3 pounds from yesteday, not worried though. I know its just temporary, soy sauce and olives!!! And YES, I never thought of all the stairs at the waterpark for Andrea, thats true!!! Great exercise.

Andrea, yeah, college this time around is a whole different ball park. I hope I have what it takes to do this kind of work! I am seriously getting worried. I did 3 years of college towards teaching before, and got great marks, now I am struggling with anatomy, very pertinant towards what I am going into, I hope its just this class! Worry worry worry!!!

Plus Mr Drool had me up 4 times between 10 and 4:30!! I guess he is just playing catch up from being 3 mos early, but it is hard to remember that at 2 am. He is doing really good though, he was 2 pounds 11 ounces at birth and is over 15 pounds now and actually on the curve for 9 month olds, although we are to consider him 6 months due to his being early. That is what inspired me to go back for nursing, although working with those tiny preemies may be to close to home, I would like to be in the field in some aspect.

Oh, guess whose up again? TTYL

I only climbed the stairs three times to go down slides. For the rest of the time I had to swim with my boy, in the lazy lagoon, which hardly sounds like exercise, but I tried not to touch the bottom and use my upper body to keep me afloat - although its not that hard because FAT FLOATS! - and I have these big pointless boobies holding my head above water all the time LOL!!!

Anyway, super busy day at work! And I have already had cream and splenda - my husand poured me a cup of coffee to wake up to this morning. So, apparently I am easy to beat in a challenge!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Good morning everyone! I didnt check in yesterday because we have no internet at home and it is my day off. So I just spent my time with my lil man and the hubby. Geez I had like 5 pages of reading! Its ok I love to read posts anyways. Oh and I weighed this morning and I am down another 2 lbs! WOOOHOOO!

~ Elsie, I made the clouds Tuesday night, pretty good. I am keeping my in the freezer in 1 serving baggies. I like them but dont love them so that will help in keeping me from gorging myself. But thanks for the advice.

~ Joe, you havent gotten your ring off in 10 years..lol I woildnt want my hubby to take his off but he works in HVAC and with electricity so I guess he has a reason too at times.

I had the worst headache yesterday! It was so bad that 4 Tylenol, food, 2 Excedrin migrains, and 3 hour nap could not cure! So I just took it easy and pounded down the water. I feel better this morning. I am getting ready to eat some left over pot roast for breakfast...yum! I will be back later...thats a threat and a promise!

Not that you are up 3 pounds but that you know the reason for it...are okay with it and not using it as an excuse to quit or cheat! You are not letting the scales dictate your moods! WONDERFUL!

Splandrea....I am not sure that walking the stairs 3 times counts...though it was better than nothing. I think that since you say you bought your own ...um...floatation devices to the baby park that might not count either! LOL!
