hey y'all! i made it through the big company picnic....whew........took my oopsie rolls for my bread, had a hamburger and hotdog, and also took an 8 oz diet rite with me. only one person commented about the bread, and all they said was they looked good, but looked like pancakes. i told them it was homemade bread, and my doctor had told me i needed to cut out flour and sugar. that's all that was said after that. thank goodness.

now on to other news. i had to go see an ear, nose, throat specialist today. been having quite a few sinus infections over the last ear or so.
here's the news i got........"you have a deviated septum, and i recommend surgery to correct it" ...........whoa, not what i expected to hear. also not something i'm ready to deal with since just found out that DH has Graves' disease.(extreme overactive thyroid) so now, gonna have a decision to make about myself and decide if i can just deal with the infections or surgery(and being off for a week afterwards). should i decide on the surgery, it won't be for a while, gotta concentrate on getting hubby better first. it may sound like i'm putting him in front of myself, but my situation is not life threatening and his is very serious.

anyway, been a crazy day and crazy week, but i'm hanging in there stronger than ever. thank you all for listening to me, it's great to see everyone in here. i know i don't always respond to every post, but i read each one and draw so much inspiration from them.

have a good evening, will try to check in later tonight

Elsie, yes I will start trying that at night, at least wieht cereal I have already, he is eating 3 meals a day but a bedtime snack may be the ticket! I will have the bottles ready too. I lose when I'm pregnant too! But that whole theory about BF making you lose wt, yeah right, that never happened for me! thanks so much for the ideas!

And good luck on the move, Tomorrow, I detest moving!!!! I hope you are in the kitchen right now making up success foods to get you through!!

Andie, yeah, gonna be a nurse, gotta make more to help support the kiddos, and bf is kinda waiting on me to go to work so he can have knee replacements, I know!! At just 32, he needs em! He was in a bad motorcycle accident about 10 years ago and the knees were torn up, all worn out now, he is constantly popping them back in place while at work. We just hope he can hold up till I finish school!

            Ladies and Gentlemen:
The cauliflower pizza that I made today had 12.5 carbs.
I proceeded to eat the entire thing.
GRRRR. Apparently I am not eating much for the rest of the day - except chicken!

            P.S. - it was fabulous!!!!!

Best of wishes for you and husband, Things will go your way there too!

Elsie-ok ok clearly I misunderstood the posts! all this talk about sugar and olives and soy sauce thought things were taken to extreme--so you can stop running and give me my clo.....***POP*** what the? no no no

LOL! Bill is in the house!

Yup baby is out for a walk with daddy and when he gets back he's going to get a nice bedtime snack and a bottle! Holy cow, he slept 3.5 hours earlier! I swear that formula is a good filler!

((((Monie)))), I hope all goes well with you guys, I still have to look at that Grave's link. GREAT JOB at the picnic, btw!!!!

Tomorrow I weigh in with bf, hoping for 10 pounds down, but if not that's ok. I have been trying to pin bf down about where he wants to go with this WOE after tonite. He is hemming and hawing about how nice it would be to have bread or cake once in awhile, but yet he could eat like this long term if we had good food like tonite (grilled salmon and grilled zucchini, yellow peppers and onions in foil with butter! mmmm!!) I am thinking rung one, but no promise of moving up from that one for awhile. Also, I know this is bad, but we are going to reclaim our night out once a month only, and by that I mean that kind of night out! LOL! We have cut way back, and with it being summer, I am amazed that we have stayed home or done other things with the kids. We are a couple that needs our social time. I realize that a night out may knock us off track for a few days, but if we keep everything else the same, I think it will be worth it in the end. Especially with being a student now, I need to unwind once in awhile. So actually, we are being healthier this way! From how much we used to go out. Anywaaaay....

Guys! I just made this from Linda's site and it was really good, but read the ** about the cream before you make it!! It was the closest thing to fruit I have had in weeks! LOL

                      CRUSTLESS KEY LIME PIE
1 small package sugar free lime jello
                      1/2 cup boiling water
                      8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon lime juice, one small lime
Lime peel, finely grated, one small lime
**1/2 cup heavy cream (see note below)
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water, stirring for 3 minutes. Beat the cream cheese in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually beat the jello into the cream cheese (this will make a mess and splatter all over the place). Add the lime juice and rind. Add cream and whip until fluffy. Pour into a pie plate that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Chill until set.
                      Makes 4 servings
                      Do not freeze
Per 1/4 Pie: 312 Calories; 31g Fat; 6g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 4g Net Carbs
Per 1/6 Pie: 208 Calories; 21g Fat; 4g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs
NOTE: I couldn't get the cream to get fluffy. I think it should have been beaten until stiff first, then folded into the cream cheese, jello mixture.

Anyway, if you try the dessert, hope you like it!!! I have to get back to work again before my 15 pound boss comes back, and have to figure out lunch for tomorrow, I am leaning towards a chef's salad, ham, eggs, and have to whip up that vinagrette Linda has on her site too!

BTW, I signed up for the 6 wk challenge, committed to an hour a day for 6 days per week, of walking, video, Gazelle, etc.

                      Good nite all!!!!!

speaking of challenges.....i better go get my exercises done for the day.

Since you are going to reclaim it anyway...and understand the implications of it...at least pick something that would be legal once you get there. Wine. Or rum and diet coke or gin and tonic..that sort of thing. Good luck with that!!! Key Lime Pie sounds good...glad I am not into dessert too much.

Hey Bill, uh, we don't play THAT hard, just a few drinks once a month.

I am sure the drinks will hit a lot harder without all the "regular" carbs we used to eat to soak them up! We'll be cheap dates anyway! I don't really think it will be too much damage. Sorry to disappoint anyone though, just trying to stay real, and keep this WOE, while making it work for us.

Elsie, the baby slept from 10 till 4!!! Woohoo!! That is the most sleep I have had in a row in months!! Thank you for reminding me to try things again that I had forgotten about! He ate a huge bowl of cereal half an hour before bed, and last time I tried to get him to eat cereal before bed, he just wasn't really into eating yet. Thank you for putting things back into perspective! I have energy today!! Btw, I do plan to do the diet pop when we do go out, going to be as Atkins freindly as I can, no beer bellies here! LOL

And......drumroll....bf and I have each lost 10 pounds on induction!! I think we both thought he would lose more, but he sure looks good!! He looks like he lost half his tummy and his face looks so much skinnier!! He looks and feels so much healthier. As do I. I was reading the book, and it said adding that next serving of veg will slow wt loss, so I am still up in the air on that. I just don't know!

Monie, yes, I did find the exercise part and signed up. I'm counting on you to keep me encouraged, you seem like the exercise cheerleader!

BTW, that mistake in the recipe was printed just that way, I wish she would have rewrote it before posting it, I was following it so closely!! Darn, I ended up using an additional half cup of whipped cream and beating it to add to the rest so it had some fluff to it. So I am sure the real thing without the xtra cream was just perfect!!!

So I guess I get held accountable for exercising on Sunday! I am actually looking forward to it!

Well, DB (darling baby) calls, gotta get him some chow.
