Today turned out much worse than I ever imagined. Traffic was horrible going to UVA and coming home, I got caught in rush hour/construction traffic. It took me 30 minutes to go 2 miles. The 45 minute drive took an hour and 40 minutes. I packed tuna salad for dinner, but got to church just with enough time to gobble a few bites in the parking lot. I am soooo tired.

Food was on track for the whole day, but I'm too tired to type it out. Night, folks! I have to go back to UVA tomorrow!

    Sunny!

Aw, Sunny Sorry your day was so stressful. Hopefully the trip tomorrow will go much smoother.

Adena, I sure do appreciate the encouraging exercise words. I don't know why it's so easy for me to let it fall by the wayside. I am amazed, and grateful, that I have my C25K to keep me motivated. I would have never thought in a million years that I would attempt running. I actually look forward to it.

Good morning, I've got my food all settled down, but have not exercised since Monday. I've totally lost interest in it, but have 3 people I am training with for a triathlon! I am going to come face to face with some tough lessons if I don't start making exercise a priority. I've always been one to tackle things one at a time, first the food and then the exercise and then the water and suppliments....one at a time! Now I need to really get my grits together and hit that exercise hard....It tends to create a higher need and DEMAND for food that I don't have need of right now....so that ketosis diminished appetite is a pleasure! With increased exercise will come the need for MORE, MORE, MORE MANAGEMENT.

Adena your doing Awesome...you know even after all the years on Atkins I never quite understood ketosis.Maybe it would of helped me more if I paid attention the first time around instead of struggling the 2nd time around lol..or is this the 3rd time...oh well I'm here now.
Does anyone else struggle with keeping a routine and not getting so bored.I don't know why but I get bored really quick any suggestions???

                    Good Evening, All

Sounds like everyone is rocking and rolling! Great job!!

Char, sorry to hear that you're bored with your food. The only thing I can suggest is to keep trying things until you find something you like. I eat the same things A LOT, but boredom has never been an issue for me. Hopefully you'll get that worked out.

                        morning yall!!!

i am still back to basics, and although it is MUCH easier am still struggling just a bit to make good food choices. am making the right ones, but it is not coming easily.

did not see much wt loss with the 2 weeks of induction, but the GREAT news is that I DID see my stomach flattening right out, more muscle definition, and most importantly, better CONTROL over food/eating habits. i think it will be a few days more until i feel like i have TOTAL control like i did this winter. i think sometimes we expect that to come immediately with induciton, and, at least for me, when i doesn't, i get disappointed. but i find if i just hang in there long enough, one day it just clicks. looking forward to that!!

Good morning everyone. I haven't posted menus for the last 2 days cuz I've been unbeilevably busy. Nonetheless, I'm doing GREAT with the eating, exercise and water. Oh, and speaking of water....

Mitzi, do you remember when I posted the question of whether the amount of water consumption once reduced would have an effect on my weightloss?

Well, I asked my doctor yesterday. She said there is absolutely zero evidence that prooves that one can lose weight if you drink more than 64 oz of water a day. She also said that one doesn't even need the 64 oz. Water is just to keep us hydrated but it's totally irrelevant to weightloss. WOW! Ofcourse not knowing what to say, I said "Oh" LOL! I told her I was just drinking lots of it cuz everytime I get cravings, I'd rather drking H2O than have a bite of food. I use it as a portion control method as well. Well there you go.

                            Hello everyone,

Looks as though everyone is doing great. I sure have missed everyone.
I have been a good girl and the scale is reflecting that. As of today I have lost a total of 139 pounds. I have 40 to go to reach goal.
My woe, exercise, water and supplements are on track.
This week i've been on another losing streek (sp). After all those inches I lost it's time for the scale to move so my body can catch up again.
I'll be able to check in here at least once a week untill I get my monitor replaced for my computer. Thank God for public libraries.
Since my computer is down I've managed to find more activities to do outside. I've been busy in my yard and garden and getting them ready for the season. I have veggies coming up and I'm so excited to be able to walk out to the garden and pick fresh veggies.
Just want all of you to know how very proud I am of each and every one of you. I know the hard work you're putting in. Just know as long as you're working the plan 100% you'll have 100% results.
Wishing all of you mothers out there a Happy Mothers Day Sunday.

I'm still here--just been busy running to charlottesville to UVA and having lots of server problems. I hate Verizon DSL, but that's all I can get here.

I have been sticking to induction foods for the most part, but yesterday after UVA, I went to Foods Of All Nations to get some real Indian and Asian products and they sell organic Newtown Pippin apples. We had those in our orchard growing up and I hadn't had one since I was a kid. I bought two of them, and ate them both. They were sooooo good. I'm gonna have to stay out of that store!

Today, I made sf mango chutney and I did taste a couple of bites of mango and tasted a small spoonful of the finished product, but I canned the rest and won't eat any for a while.

I roasted a big red bell pepper and a pablano pepper (mildly hot) and cut them into chunks; then I sauteed garlic in olive oil, added some capers and tossed the roasted peppers in that until they were warm and put the mixture on top of chicken. It was awesome! If I had known how easy it is to roast peppers on the gas grill, I would have done it long ago.

I have to go to bed, now. It's been a rough week all around.

                              Sunny!
