Hey gang. How is everyone? Great I hope. * Sassy, I am not sure what I would do without your never ending posts in the morning. They are so refreshing and I enjoy all the feedback. The flaxseed that you bought you know, you can sprinkle that on something. Pretend it is pepper or something. That is what I did to my omelet in the morning. It really doesn't have a taste.

So, I must have done something yesterday to myself. This morning when I got up I found that I am retaining water big time. Maybe it was the two eggs and sausage that I ate at 9 PM last night. I didnt eat supper and then around nine I started to get interested. They were so yummy too.

I did the keto stick test & it only turned skin color. So, I dont think I am doing very well.

Sassy - I never got around to making the oopsie rolls. Got as far as buying the ingredients then we had unexpected company, and they never got made.

This week is getting off to a really stressful start, and it's making me feel kinda weak (not sure how to describe it - I just don't feel well). Kinda reinforces the point that I would feel better in stressful situations if I was healthier (i.e. weighed less). So on we go, but it sure is a long road.

Hope everybody has a great Tuesday.

Sassy...someone bullied you to move to rung 1??!!! LOL!!! With threats of tomatoes and whip and blow up clowns I bet!! Nah..say it isn't true!! LOL! I heard it was a loving intervention from the heart. Just to prove it I won't mention rung 2 for at least 2 weeks...LOL! Deal??!! Last year I didn't scrapbook at all. Not one page. Didn't stop me from buying scrapbook stuff though...LOL! This year I have done 74 pages so far. Trying to do at least 2 a week. Which means my craft room has to be semi clean...or at least the table...LOL! Dang hulahoop...put my hip out...LOL! Okay...so you are on rung 1..against your will but with a strong spirit of open mindedness...LOL! OMG! Just checked your stats!!!!! ONDERLAND!!!! How exciting!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Big hugs as I am so happy for you and then a quick whisper in your ear to make sure you eat a little something through out the day.

Shauna...could have been the sausage...high sodium?? Maybe hidden sugars? Drink more water and it will pass.

Mike..yep a long road...but we can do it...pot holes and low valleys and all...cause the view when we at the top is wonderful!! I didn't get around to making mine either. Sometimes I just get tired of thinking of cooking healthy. Weird but true.

        Anyhow...later peeps!

          Elsie,
Sorry to hear about your trailer being side-swiped. That really stinks. I hope it’s still useable even if it does look crummy right now. And speaking of stink, I have not done my weight or measurements yet to see what kind of results I’m getting from the cleanse product. I feel less pain now, but I don’t know if it’s because I got a new office chair, the stretches on the bean, or if this cleanse is lightening my load. LOL! Hey, on the lighter side of things, I walked Rusty around my block twice the other night. And half way around I sang “I’m a Nut, I’m a Nut, I’m a Nut, Nut, Nut” to him. He liked it, but I stopped when I realized that you planted that in my mind. Thanks, the neighbors must really be wondering what kind of a Nut I am now. LOL! I must take after you. I think I’m the younger twin. I turned 44 today. And hey, craft room organizing? Awesome! I just picked up a throw blanket I started to make over a year ago. I think I'll finish it in time for Christmas this year! I love crafts so much, I basically do a bunch of different kinds all the time! And now that school is over, I can do more, yippee!

          Mike,
Congrats on the 4 pounds lost! WTG young man! The oopsie rolls are awesome! I’m challenged in the kitchen, but I haven’t screwed up one batch yet. They are especially nice fried like pancakes with sugar-free (splenda) maple syrup drizzled on them. Are you still not feeling well Mike? Could it be the Atkins flu? I hope you’re feeling better now.

          Sugarsack,
Congratulations! Couple pounds to reach your 1st mini goal. That’s wonderful! Hey, I love making party favors! What’s your design?

          Elizellen,
Thankyou for the tip on advil pills being possible stallers. I’ve been popping those babies like candy for the past few weeks due to some sciatic nerve damage. I feel like a druggy on liquid gels and advil pm. LOL! I’m not taking them anymore as of today. Besides, the pain isn’t as bad this week, so I think I can do without them. Hey, I saw your pictures. Wow! You look wonderful!

          Shaunawa,
Welcome aboard this awesome Atkins Support Board! Sorry, I don’t have any knowledge to offer on your medication predicament. But, I think Elizellen pretty much covered what your problem could be.

          Hope,
They had Bill rent a Subaru Forrester, and he made the drive in record time and in much more comfort than our commuter KIA car allows for. He hopes to be back home late Friday night. And I don’t know the results of the cleanse yet because I forgot to do my measurements and weight on Sunday, and I’ve kind of had it stuck in my head to either wait until the middle of this week or until next Sunday to record my results. But, I can tell you this: I was constipated for several weeks (there’s pain with that for me). Now, (ok…this may be TMI) I’m experiencing 1 to 6 events a day. The pain in my leg (sciatica) is less substantial, and I don’t really know if the cleanse is to be given the credit for it, or if a combination of things is helping. Enough about me, I want to know how you are doing? This cleanse might help you with some of your immune problems. You might want to talk to your doctor about it. It says that promotes good health by cleansing your system of the bad bacteria. And with the Ooopsie rolls, I make sure that my Egg White mixture is so firm that it looks like a giant snowball. Bill laughs at it, but it does make my oopsies very big.

          Robin,
Buying a house is mega stressful. I wish you all the luck in the world. Do you think that where you will no longer have a gym that it’s feasible to take a mortgage for a few thousand dollars extra to obtain the necessary gym equipment for your new house? A few thousand dollars more isn’t going to raise your mortgage that much at all. Plus, in the long run it will probably cost you less if you were to go to a gym and incur babysitting fees. The other upside is that you will be able to exercise on your own terms and schedule. This is not advice, it’s just a thought I had kicking around in my head.

          Sassy,
Hey, I’m in the beginners’ bakers group. My twin Elsie and DH are the chefs! But, if I know something, I will share it. And…OMG! I can’t believe I actually started talking Bill’s shop talk. One can expect to do that regarding their own work but with their spouses? Explanation: Spartan is the name of one of his company’s machine models. They are assembly line machines. If you ever watch that show “How it’s made”, every so often you will see one of his company’s machines on it. For example: Picture boxes being fed down a conveyor belt, while being stuffed with a product like soap or cereal. It’s an interesting job, but the travel that comes with it is very wearing. I’ll try not to talk shop in the future….LOL!

hi everyone.. happy.. tuesday ! woo hoo

sassy.... "I didn't realize you were so sensitive Sugar! " yes, very sensitive, like oh i dont know.. rodney dangerfield ?? i used to complain that it took my kids so long to understand sarcasm.. however when they got it .. THEY GOT IT .. now i am paying.. hehe

about the clense stuff... if you dont want it.. um.. would it be just wrong to suggest you flush it down the potty ? i mean if you used it thats where it would go anyway ? sorry my sarcasm is showing

sorry you dont like the cream cheese w/splenda... i prefere it plain .. i save my cheese allowance for 3 glorious ounces of cream cheese that i eat with a spoon and drive my family nuts with all my yummy sounds

holding - congrats on 45 lbs... wow... "*don't applaud just yet, I still feel and look fat*" YOU LOOK 45 LBS THINNER TO ME !! it may be that you have a way to go .. but oh my goodness.. you are 45 lbs closer to your goal.. i dont care if you have 400 lbs to go.. you are 45 lbs closer.. every 45 lbs counts .. dont discount your 45 lb loss.. its HUGE to lose 45 lbs... i want to lose 45 lbs (twice) congrats and keep up the good work and HERES to another 45 lbs .. woo hoo !

mike - sorry to hear you are feeling icky... hang in there, get some rest/sleep, stress is not fun.. *cyber hugs* hope you feel better soon

shauna - you did the stick test and it turned... thats the point.. it turned.. any color is good.. i agree its probably the sausage (sugar/salt) drink more water and you should be fine...

crafts... mmm crafts... i dont scrapbook myself.. however i stamp.. made my own christmas cards for a couple years... now i am just trying to decorate for my daughter in laws bridal shower (is it wrong that her mother and i keep saying baby shower ?? i guess we want to be grammas., but its embarassing when we are out in public talking about an october wedding then i say baby shower.. i have to correct myself a LOT !) she picked TEAL AND BROWN as shower colors.. so i am getting all teal and brown paper products (plates forkes napkins and the like) then i bought some brown and teal felt, and fuzzy (hairy) yarn.. not knowing what i was going to do with them.. however, found an idea... felt hearts, sewn together using the fuzzy yarn in the opposite color.. filled with candy, and handed out as party favors at the shower.. so i am cutting and sewing all week .. (i tried to do something with a photo frame and the fuzzy yarn.. but it ended up looking like a muppet exploded.. so i nixed that idea) i am going to put baby photos of the wedding couple on some teal and brown construction paper and use them as center pieces ..

sorry about the long post.. i was just trying to repsond to all my buddies sorry if i missed anyone.. i am hovering 277-280 depending on when i wiegh, so i am just trying to keep on keeping on .. want to see the 270s go away.. but i know it takes time

have a great nite everyone !!

              Morning everyone...

I want to let everyone know that with this past week of STRESS that my eating habits haven't been up to Atkins standards...no I didn't run out and eat bad stuff...just haven't been getting all my veggies in and water? I kind of forgot what that was. This house buying process is way too complex...people have been throwing us numbers and policies and laws left and right. My weight has gone back up to 168 (which isn't bad..) but I think with all the STRESS I'm just hitting a plateau. As it is..we go in to sign the contract on Friday...we've met with the lender and the realtor and the seller about three times this week and heck it's only Wednesday morning! Eeek!

So there's a lot of planning to do...more STRESS than I want...but if this means getting out of renting a cramped apartment, I'm all for it. DH, the kiddos and I are sooooo ready for a house!

              Post again soon!

                  Morning All!
Feeling a lot better today, think it was just a combination of stress and induction flu. Got up early today, fixed myself some scrambled eggs and sausage, and the day's off to a good start!

Robin - congrats on the house! Stay strong during the move.

Jackie - happy birthday! Also, where do I find sugar free maple syrup? Oopsie roll pancakes sound great. "Sugar free maple syrup" sounds like an oxymoron.

Holdin - yeah, handling stress is the key. For a really long time I've handled it by eating and here I am. Learning to just stay with discomfort is what I'm working on, whether the discomfort is physical or psychological or emotional. Just stay, and refrain from running back to the old habitual ways of dealing with things.

Anyway, Happy Wednesday to all my buds - hope you have good day!

                      Hey everybody,
I’m down to 197.8 pounds, and an overall 15.5 inches lost! With less pain, I am back into my stretch, bean, and treadmill routine. I would like to get down to 187 pounds by October 10th which is 4 weeks from now. Not sure it’s feasible, but I’m going to try like heck. Walking around Disney World is a ton of exercise and takes a huge amount of energy. I would like to be able to do it without the pain.

And, just to be honest with everyone, I allowed myself 2 servings of cheesecake for my birthday last night! But, am glad to see that I'm down in pounds anyway!

                      All,
I had a long discussion with Bill last night. And just so you don’t have to keep looking and asking for him, because of what went down with his very last post, Bill will not be back online.

                      Sugarsack,
Hang in there you’ll be out of the 270’s before you know it. The party favors and decorations sound nice. I like the baby photo idea very much! My colors were Teal, White, and Pink. I love the color Teal! Funny how we can remember distinct colors that represented primary events that occurred 22 years ago. LOL! Hey, maybe you’ll be looking at a baby shower next year!

                      Mike,
I went to “Stop & Shop” (the main grocer in Mass.) and bought “Vermont maple syrup (sugar-free, made with splenda)”. I found it right with the other maple syrups. There were at least 3 different brands to choose from. I didn’t like Maple Syrup before I started this diet. But, this sugar-free stuff is awesome! Hey, I just realized you are 6.5 feet tall. Elsie and I are midgets compared to you. She’s 5 feet and I’m 5.2 feet tall. What’s it like to physically look down on people? LOL!
<----not sure what happened, but I did select the happy man flipping a happy face pancake!

                      Hope,
I just get by with the cooking. DH has been teaching me recipes. I’m averaging learning one per month. LOL! But, I can make enough variation for me and DD to get by on. Glad to hear your doing great, and WOW…..45 pounds lighter!

                        Good morning everyone.
You guys were right, it was the sausage. There was sugar in the darn stuff. How could I have been so dumb. Guess I will have to let the family have them. I started gulping down the water yesterday and the bloating did go away. I must have been low on fluid and the sodium and sugar did not help. However I did the test strip again this morning and it was that pinkish color again.

Mike- I am sorry that you have not been feeling well. Just give it time and things will start to look up again. I too want to make these oopsie rolls you guys are talking about. I printed off the recipe and will try them this weekend. I cant bake durning the week at all. There just is no time. Are you a chef, or do you not enjoy cooking?

Robin- Buying a house can be very stressful. I thought it was the most aweful experience I have ever went through. The realtor was always calling and prices back then were not stable. The rates would go up and down by the week. I have to admit though, once I put the welcome mat on the outside of the door - all my stress went away. It was nice to finally be able to have a home of my own. A place my kids could say, "thats my house."
Even though it is not in one of the ritzy neighborhoods it is still THERES & that is such a good feeling. Good luck to you... it will be over soon & you can get your own Welcome Mat.

Sally- Hey hey sally...How is the first step up going for you? Have you noticed any changes in the scale? I mean from adding stuff in? I have been thinking about you in the morning now...okay dont get worried, I am not weird or anything. I do yoga in the morning off of the Oxygen channel and they have this song on there all the time...Ride Sally Ride & I will just start to laugh. It is hard to keep my leg in that position when I am laughing.

Elsi- thanks for the advice on the sausage. Darn it... that stuff was good too. Now I know why though right? I will just have to go to the butcher and see if he has just some plain stuff for me. I have to admit I am not a crafty girl. Everyone trys to get me to do stamping or something...but between kids and activities I have no time to crafts. When I was younger I use to draw and paint all the time...but I dont think I have touched a brush in 11 years. House paint does not count.

Holding onto hope - 45 lbs. God I would love to loose 45 lbs. That must have been something. That is nothing to sneeze at lady even if you have 40 to go or something... So congrats - we should all celebrate.

Have a great day everyone & thanks for being there.

Glad you figured out your sausage dilemma. For me, it's pepperoni. DH has told me that there is no such animal called a "Pepper-Roni". And I tried faking it for one week calling it a Roni Dog. But, I too had to give up eating the sodium soaked meat because it caused me to stall.

Dont tell me that I just bought some Roni dog at the store. It said it was carb free - so I thought I was in the clear. Everyone talks about eating the pepper chips and such. I thought they sounded good. Maybe I better just lay off at least until I am done with induction. Thanks for the heads up Jackie

                              Happy Belated Birthday toooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooooo YOU!

Hope you had a good one! You are allowed to talk Bill's shop talk. We just watched that show last night...How its made. As far as I am concerned...and don't tell Bill...don't want his head to get all swelled or anything...LOL...that makes Bill practically a MOVIE STAR!! I always knew he was special...I just thought it was in a different way...LOL! (Hey Bill...I'm picking on ya now!!) Very KEWL!!

Sugar...LOL on the sarcasm...I, too, did it to myself. Sometimes have to take a step back when I hear my words coming out of my 10 and 12 year old...LOL! Hey..I stamp too! In my craft room I have my scraptable...then beside that is my computer desk and beside that is my stamp desk. Behind me the loveseat and TV. This is the most used room in the house. Love the sound of your colors!! Love all the crafts for it. Sounds like so much fun. And does she know how lucky she is to have a mother in law that is willing to do all that for her? (no sarcasm) I don't sew...I like to say "if I can't glue it I don't do it"...LOL...did 'sew' my new jeans. First time I ever did that..usually I get the petite (I know...silly that you can buy jeans for a 241 pound 5' woman and they are labled petite...I am sure there is sarcasm in there somewhere...LOL) anyway...couldn't break my rule on sewing and really couldn't glue it. Thought about staples...have them in blue...but bought some fusible web stuff...pretty cool! Worked good...will see how it stands up to the wash.

Robin...don't forget to be excited too...not just stressed!

                              Mike...breakfast sounds good. Keep going!

Jackie...just read about Bill..I am very very sad. Bill was the first person to respond to my thread. I understand...but am very very very sad...some joy has left for me.

I am however so glad that you are staying on! FYI...DH and I are taking the kids to Disneyland after Christmas. <<What’s it like to physically look down on people?>> When people ask me what's it like to look up to everyone I tell them "I can see who all the a**hole's are from down here" usually shuts them up...um...didn't I mention sarcasm is a free service I offer? LOL!

Shauna..I don't craft like I used to. I even used to do a weekly thing for a group of ladies..and all the supplies and had an online Angel exchange. We did different angel crafts every month and sent them to each other. It was interesting seeing how different everyone's was. They would send me .jpg's and I would upload them to this website I built along with poems and stories and such. Now mostly stamping and scrapping with some other stuff thrown now and then. This week made a faux stained glass window to hang in the kitchen window. Sooooo easy...used a faux stained glass clear door off of a cupboard my neighbor had and just added gallery glass paint to it...LOL!

                              Okay..that is it for me...

                                Morning all:

Jackie & Sugar - You're right, the sugar free syrup is right there with the regular syrup. Couldn't find any made with Splenda, just aspartame, but I got it anyway.

Jackie - Being so tall has its pros and cons, but I can say everybody looks up to me!

Shaunawa - Am I a chef? I can't even boil an egg! I don't like cooking, which is probably why I STILL haven't got around to making those oopsie rolls. It's also probably part of the reason I keep falling off the wagon. I think it's definitely easier to stay on Atkins if you like to cook and like to try new recipes and foods. I tend to get stuck eating the same things all the time. Then I get tired of eating the same thing and fall off plan. I need to get a little more adventuresome in the kitchen.

                                Have a great day buds!
