Saturday 12/12 2-1/2 miles on treadmill -- 3.5-3.8 mpg 4 -12% incline / food was off - couldn't find anything I wanted to eat. Water was good, spent some alone time!

Sunday 12/13 2-1/2 miles on treadmill -- 3.5 mph 4% incline (killed myself on Saturday! Made a new recipe so food was good. Water was over my pledge amount, did something nice for myself (took a short nap).

              December 14th:
Weight: Mid-week weigh in on Wed/Thurs.
Diet: OMG I feel so much better! I was out with my mom today I didn't want to eat just in case so I just had a bite of her sausage. At the store I found a whole new isle i've never seen. The sugar free isle. I was browsing and I saw some jam, with only natural sugar (from the fruit itself). I have so been wanting some pb&js. They had a few different brand but I went with the one that was 100% natural (no added sugar, artifical coloring, etc.) and let me tell you, I got home and made a pb&j with the flax bread I made yesterday...I will dream of that sandwich. I choose the strawberry jam because I know they don't hurt me.
Water: I must admit, it is -2*c (windchill is -7*c) out side and that is where I have been all day (got up and went). I have been drinking warm drinks (tea, cocoa) today. I have been home for an hour and a half and I am still shivering.
Supplements: I counted the flaxbread I made and it have 15g of fiber in one sandwich. I have had one so far today but I also plan to have broccoli and cauliflower for dinner, might have another sandwich later.
Exercise: I went christmas shopping today. I faught the cold and was dragged into almost every store by my mother. I got a good couple of ks in.
              Planning: Nothing for now.
Taking care of me: So cold...

Supplements: Taking fish oil & multi
Exercise: I tried an exercise video today and YUK YUK YUK back to treadmill I go.

Weight..not weighing in again for at least a week
Diet..sigh...it was spot on until dh's Aunt gave us a box of Christmas treats. I had just one bite but these things are calling me and my boys won't eat them. Think I will freeze them for dh. I will not eat anymore of them!
Water and supplements are fine. I agree that at this time of year, I really want hot drinks but I can still drink water ok.
Exercise...shoveling AGAIN. That will be one of my forms of exercise all winter. And my son and I are going to a concert tonight, so will be on my feet and dancing around all night
                  For me time...the concert tonight.

                  Take care everyone.

OK, reporting in. I picked up my DANDR and am rereading it. I am also doing really well at sticking to things even while staying with family. I went out the first night and stocked the fridge with Atkins friendly food. That helped a lot. I am trying to keep the exercise up--not where I would like to be since my shoulder is acting up but am trying. So far all my pants feel the same. Am going to pick up a couple of slices of low carb cheesecake before the holidays so that when I am tempted I have a solution that is legal. Thanks for the reminder liv. Totally forgot to post here.

                    • Re: Keeping our Cool: December Diet Challenge

Sorry -- I am back now. Went to Las Vegas this weekend.

We did a TON of walking. So much that I hurt from the groin down. LOL.

We ate a lot of very high-quality food, and I would say that 90+% of it was on-plan. I had several salad-based meals, and I am pretty certain there was sugar in the dressing. I probably could have been a better advocate for myself, as these were very upscale restaurants, but I was getting the evil eye from DH, so... I spared everyone the pain (and consequently had some bloating).

Anyway, one big surprise was some 'no sugar added' desserts at the Sunday brunch. A cheesecake and a pecan pie. So, I tried 'em. I think they must have been made with Splenda. Otherwise, I did not order a single dessert for myself, despite the fact that everyone else was indulging.

On Saturday morning, I woke up worried about what was to come, and did 600 crunches. I'm fairly glad I resisted the urge to do squats. I skipped the elliptical for two days prior to the trip, as I was not having luck finding the time to fit it in (I think time was in slow motion, as TOM had started).

I tried to weigh myself this morning, but it was dark, my tummy wasn't quite empty, etc. Tomorrow I shall fully climb back in the saddle with exercising and vitamins. Eating is on track for today.

Last 24 hours have been busy; new boss, new assignment, chaos with databases being accidentally deleted...etc. Whew... Went home last night and got on that stationary bike for 25 minutes to relieve stress, best thing I could have done for myself... The old me would have gone to the fridge to see what's in there to console me. Not anymore. Today is a better day, the craziness has died down somewhat.

I'm on plan, taking all my supplements and exercising. I'm debating whether to workout out after work or make this a rest day for me. I decided not to 'weigh' myself until 1/1/10. I have patience when it comes to weighing myself. My clothing is starting to fit loose. At work I get called 'Ms. Baggy Britches' which is kind of cute.

I bought my boyfriend a ton of art supplies since he complains he never has enough.

                              December 15th:
Weight: Mid-week weigh in on Wed/Thurs.
Diet: Doing good. I've eaten some but not alot, still need to get some more veggies.
Water: Some but mostly warm drinks again. It is becoming winter here finally.
Supplements: 2 flax bread sandwiches today, so at least 30g fiber.
Exercise: My arms are so sore from caring bags yesterday that I gave myself a day off. Tomorrow I am pulling out the trainer and going at it.
                              Planning: Nothing for now.

Supplements: Be more regular about taking my supplements besides the daily vitamin. (I am now taking them all, I had to spread them out over the day)

Weight: Try to lose at least .5# each week (Not weighing until Monday)

Water: Continue my 96 ounces per day. (Drinking 96 oz and more)

Exercise: Get out to the club more often, not just exercising at home. (Got on the elliptical again at the club, this morning did Tai Chi and WATP)

I got a pedi and "fill" that was long overdue since before Thanksgiving.

Good thing the shop has parking right outside the door. Wore sandels so the pedi polish wouldn't get mussed. It is 11 degrees outside!!!
